Great dinner, attentive staff. Comfortable atmosphere.
Having eaten Many times at Lawry's in both Las Vegas and Dallas, I must say my visit to the Dallas Lawry's on December 5th was my worst every experience ever at a Lawry's. The service was excellent as usual - but we all (party of 3) ordered Lobster bisque and one order of calamari for the table. Unfortunately we had to send all the bisque and all the calamari back to the kitchen as none of them were edible!! The lobster bisque tasted more like a fish gravy (all brown and very fishy tasting) and there was Not one bit of lobster in any of the three bowels; the calamari was about 95% coated and deep fried strips of carrots - in the entire platter, we found only one or two strips of actual calamari. Our waiter was very gracious and understanding of our complaints. The prime rib and the baked fish were both excellent but in no way made up for the negative issues we had experienced with our appetizers.
A consistently delightful experience! We keep returning and always enjoy ourselves.
We go at Christmas time to enjoy a rotating group of carolers. They are always fabulous. The wine was outstanding (wine buyers recommendation). Spin salad, prime rib, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and mushrooms (best ever!).
The place was packed and the staff didn’t miss a beat!!!
This is an amazing place to eat! Went for an anniversary dinner and was not disappointed in the least. From the time we walked up to the time we left, our time at Lawry’s was great. We were met by a nice gentleman who I believe was the Manager and he offered to take our picture for us and was really nice, professional, and funny. Then he opened the door for us and let us know who to see and that they would take care of us. Once inside, we were greeted by two lovely young ladies and were seated immediately. Josh was our server and he was the best! So attentive and went above and beyond. He congratulated us on our anniversary before I even mentioned it, which tells me Lawry’s staff cares about their patrons. He offered a dessert of our choice as a congratulations and it was delicious. Their prime rib is the best in DFW in my opinion. It was quiet, romantic and it was beautifully decorated for the holiday. There were even Christmas carollers who stopped by our booth and sang beautifully. I would definitely recommend Lawry’s for any occasion.
Amazing food and impeccable service in a lovely environment
I don't think I have ever been treated with as much grace and great hospitality in my life. My son and I had one of the greatest night ever and great memories were made.
Turkey dinners were outstanding as usual...deserts to die for....service was OUTSTANDING starting with Nancy (The Manager) who always makes us feel like Lawry's Royalty...she is a REAL GEM !!!!!!!and Roxanne Miller (or server) who always caters to our every dining want and need....and does so with charm and wit !!!!Keeps us coming back each month since 1988. It's a dining experience we treasure !!!!!
Great prime rib. Love the restaurant. Worth the price.
Food and service is excellent! Lawry's is fine dining at is best!
Thank you for the review and the 5-star rating. We love to know that you had a great time dining with us.
This was our first time here. We had a great time. Food was very good, service was excellent! We will be returning.
Great experience. Excellent food and service. Prompt, efficient seating and it all makes for a special special occasion.
Thanksgiving dinner was amazing! Starla was attentive and kind, Manuel was quick to fill drinks and clear dishes. Couldn’t have asked for nicer family dinner on the holiday.
The food not worth price. Everything from beginning to end was under par.
Favorite place to eat in Dallas, especially for Thanksgiving!
Our server, Tanisha, was very attentive, thorough, and did an outstanding job to make our Thanksgiving lunch special.
I had the turkey and dressing. They were both very, very good. I also ordered the Caesar salad. Really, really good. The only change I’d make to the Thanksgiving menu is having sweet potatoes instead of mashed potatoes. The pecan pie was a lovely ending to the meal.
Way too much drama getting a good bottle of wine. 7 year old merlot, cork crumbled and initial they just wanted strain it. Poured it all over table and then gave me a sample and it tasted bitter and chewy with cork.
Prime Rib was good as always.
I’m a Lawry’s VIP member, and I must say this was probably the most disappointing visit I’ve had. Side dishes were either cold or not tasty as usual, and our server, while very nice, had trouble remembering things. I even asked the manager if the kitchen was having an off night.
Always enjoy our meal at Lawry's. We each tried something different was we were pleasantly surprised.
This is what a grilled ribeye should look like. Very poor quality meat and was way over cooked.
Good food, service was a little off and a bit rude/snide ...
Thank you for the review, Dave. We're sorry to read that the service you received was less than desired and know that we've made note to ensure a better experience in the future. Thank you again for your candidness.
The service was suburb, Travis was most attentive and informative. The entrees were delicious and plentiful. We were also grateful for the quiet atmosphere; it was great to be able to carry on a pleasant conversation.
I've been to other Lawry's locations and this one lived up to the excellent quality they all have. Our waitress was superb. The food was excellent. The entire evening was simply perfect.
We love to read that you and a wonderful experience. Thank you for the review. All the best to you :)
I came from out of state to find a steak restaurant that says Texas, as soon as I walked in the door they asked me to take off my hat, I'm a lady, I said this is a cancer hat, it's not for fashion I'm growing my hair back , they actually said they had to check w their manager if it's ok. The food was a just ok and way over priced. I rather Gordon Ramsay Steak but none were available to the area. Oh, and we were brought the wrong to go deserts with no silverware
we both ordered the exact same order ,cut and temperature / medium cooked prime. My girlfriends meat was a lot larger than mine. We swapped plates and enjoyed our dinner. There was about a 25% size difference Comparing side by side between the plates.
Friendly service and great food!
Prime rib was excellent, the service was not rushed; friendly without being intrusive.
Lawry's has been the standard for fine dinning in North Texas since the closing of the Chateaubriand.
We love an old school steakhouse and we very excited to try this place. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations. The appetizers were dismal… calamari was a greasy mess and the escargot had none of the garlic butter richness you want in the dish. The spinning salad was way overdressed in the odd dressing. We left three plates of overly doused greens on the plate. Was hoping the prime rib would save the meal. It was just ok. It wasn’t over cooked but it lacked flavor and arrived to the plate cooler than I would have liked. The mashed potatoes were not remarkable, the corn was even too sweet for our 9 year olds palate, and the Yorkshire pudding was mushy, lacking the crisped exterior one expects. The Texas Mule and complimentary bread turned out to be our favorites. Had we been at the Golden Corral, I would have left pleased but for $300, it was definitely disappointing.
It was my nephew’s 40 th birthday. I called ahead to let you know . Just so you could acknowledge his birthday. Didn’t happen. It’s those little touches that elevate a good restaurant.
All aspects were just marginal at best and price point to much for the level of quality!
I was very disappointed in the food. Not up to my remembered Excellent. Beef was OK, although smaller portion, salad, Yorkshire pudding were bad. No music!
The pecan pie is the best and the steaks of course are great
Thank you for the stars and review, Roken! We love to read you enjoyed our Pecan Pie ;) Cheers!
Lawry's is our favorite restaurant! We have dined here dozens of times through the years and the prime rib dinners have been consistently fantastic! We are also VIP members and are awarded points for each dinner and special occasion!
Travis is, by far, our favorite waiter! Thank you, Lawry's, for our excellent, and memorable occasions!
We had a great time! Our only complaint is that the prime rib was very fatty. I know prime rib is supposed to be fatty, but this was more fatty than other places we have eaten.
Once again the wife and I enjoyed a spectacular meal at Lawry's the prime Rib. EVERYTHING was delicious. SERVICE was SUPERNATURAL....MS MILLER (our server catered to our every dining want and need....and did so with real charm and wit. She is just the very best ever !!!! Keeps us coming back each month since 1988 !!!!!
Thank you for sharing about your recent experience with us, Joseph! We're so happy to read you had an amazing time :) Thank you again.
Excellent service and wonderful food. Our server was attentive and friendly.
Thank you so much, Karen!
Bloody, fatty prime rib. Our server was terribly rude and had only 1 other table. We sat for 20 mins with no one greeting us.
The manager dis lot come over and took our order.
For a birthday celebration, the experience and food was not good.
It was wonderful!! Our waiter was great!! I will highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family!!
Thank you for the stars and review! We love to know you had a great time. We appreciate the recommendation, too!
