Took wife for her birthday, as she loves prime rib. Her first time at Lawrys. Service was fantastic. Her prime rib melted in her mouth. I had the sea bass and it was amazing. Will be back.
My 2 coworkers and I were celebrating our coworker’s birthday. Upon arrival we were escorted to the main dining area. A server pointed to the menu on the wall and told us we order off there, she then took our drink orders, and assigned us a table. We had some questions about the wellness the cuts came in as my coworkers prefer well done and I medium. We kept trying to stop a server to ask, but that was difficult. Another customer eventually helped us.
We all enjoyed our lunch. The prime rib was excellent and mash potatoes too. Service was lacking though. My Sprite tasted like soda water. The server didn’t come back until we were finished eating even though we made several attempts to get his attention (Anthony). When he finally did come and check on us it was time to bring my coworkers to go boxes. Anthony did go bring another sprite right before we left along with our check. He stated that the he had to change the Sprite. He brought each of us a to go drink , he said because of mine drink not being good.
Overall great food, the chefs cutting the prime rib very friendly. Other than that poor service. I don’t see myself returning to this location.
Lawry's The Prime Rib is great place to go on those special occasions. If you enjoy prime rib, there is none better in the Great State of Texas. If prime rib is not your thing, there is steak and seafood that melts in your mouth.
Next to Hamburger Wednesday and having prime rib in the dining room my third favorite reason to go to Lawry's is for Fish & Chips Friday in the bar area. The fish is great with a crunchy coating. My wife had her 2 favorite items for a meal....spinning bowl salad and the glazed carrots. Jason always takes excellent care of us.
Last night’s dinner was very good as always. This is the go to place for prime rib. Have never tried any other entree. Spinach and artichoke dip is excellent — you can taste the spinach and artichokes due to no ‘fillers’. Wine selection could be better but we are particular in wanting high quality French Burgundies. Our waiter, Dale, was great. Very knowledgeable and personable.
No worth the money.
Every trip we look for a Lawry's!
Always a great meal.. Dale is the best..... If you want prime rib, Lawry's is the place in N Dallas
FOOD AND SERVICE WERE OUTSTANDING.... KAREN (THE MANAGER) ALWAYS TREATS US LIKE PART OF THE LAWRY'S FAMILY AND MAKES US FEEL SO SPECIAL...ASHLEY (OUR SERVER) CATERED TO OUR EVERY DINING WANT AND NEED...PRIME RIB AND SALMON WERE COOKED TO PERFECTION. IT'S A DINING EXPERIENCE WE TREASURE. KEEPS US COMING BACK EACH MONTH SINCE 1988 !!!
1st time at Lawry's. Meal (prime rib, of course) was very, very good. Thought the asparagus was a bit tart, but the Yorkshire pudding was great. Best part of dinner was our waiter, Dale. He could not have been better or more accommodating! Service was amazing and, while pricey, I will be going back.
Travis was simply awesome and will be my server going forward, thanks for a great date night!
As always great food and service. Best Prime Rib in the country. For those who prefer something other than Prime Rib this location has a good selection of other choices.
I don't know what's going on with Lawrys Dallas. I am a huge fan. I take my family several times a year and have for 25 years. We often go on 7/3 for Kaboom Town afterward. We got to the half empty restaurant at 630 for 7 reservations. The manager acted like it was an imposition and it took several minutes to get our table. The past several times we've been, the meat isn't as good and my Dallas cut is the same size as the other Lawry cuts at the table, for $16 more. Once, the server noticed and replaced it. At the end, I asked (like always) to take the bones home for my dogs. We had a guest who asked if they might have 3 for her dogs. The server said "sure but there's a new $3 charge per bone." I almost fell out of my seat. They are throwing the bones away, but now want $3 a bone to put them in a box?!?!?! I said "since when? I always take bones home." So she said she looked for some for free.
The restaurant is typically overflowing in two dining rooms on 7/3. Only one dining room was open and it was less than half full. Everything is off at Lawrys and it's sad. Apparently others have noticed.
Food and Service was outstanding as usual. Sunday brunch at Lawry's has always been special to our family. It's a dining experience we treasure.
Overall great service and great food
We enjoyed our dinner from the time we walked in the door to the time we left. Great atmosphere, food and service. We will come back in the future
Lawry’s has been my husband’s birthday destination for several years. Don’t ever change because we want to continue for several years to come.
My wife and I went for Hamburger Wednesday with friends. They make the best cheeseburgers on pretzel buns. You get truffle fries with it or you can substitute their corn or spinach. We discovered the bourbon glazed carrots that are out of this world! Jason the bartender and our server is a great guy and always takes good care of us!
I was hoping for the same great food and service that I have received in Chicago. Neither food nor service was that great. Also they charge extra for the salads...whats up with that?
We dine at Lawry's often and will not order prime rib anywhere else. Yours just cannot be beat.
I had not been to Lowery’s for lunch lately. I took a friend visiting from out of state for lunch. I had told him about the fabulous prime rib and the wonderful tableside carving cart presentation. Instead we had to get inline as if we were eating at Luby’s cafeteria! I was so disappointed.
I got turkey and dressing that consisted of tough turkey and gummy dressing that needed sage.
Th creamed corn and potatoes and gravy were delicious. The rolls were hard and cold.
A true classic that doesn’t disappoint.
Excellent choice when celebrating a special occasion. Prime rib was superb as usual and service attentive.
Salad premiere was always a real highlight. Dressing has changed and less toppings. A real disappointment. And what happened to the fabulous sour dough bread? New small tasteless bread also a disappointment. Spinach dip so so at best. Prime rib thankfully was as good as ever.
Awesome as usual. We love to dine at Lawrys. I have been going to Lawrys for over 30 years, and I enjoy every time like it as my first. A Dallas must do
My two sons and I celebrated the June birthdays of my youngest son and myself. The food was excellent and the service was great as Ms Roxanne took wonderful care of us.
Lawry's is truly a fantastic place for meat lovers.
Excellent meal, wonderful wine, and outstanding service.
Wonderful food, excellent service, lovely place. Two thumbs up.
Overall, was a great experience. The waiter was beyond exceptional and couldn’t ask for more. Food was great. Experience was exceptional. Enjoyed my left overs the next day.
Lawry’s in Vegas? Oh yeah! But we decided to DRIVE to Dallas for our anniversary & try Lawry’s there! Was it worth it!? Yepper! It’s a smaller venue but still has ‘the look’ I wanted! Our waiter, Janelle, was really great....a little humor but very professional! The prime rib was everything I longed for! The ONLY disappointment (minor but still....) was their yummy spinning salad. It use to be included with your dinner. So good & refreshing! Now...Ya have to order($8). Bottom line...was it worth he drive from Houston to Dallas for a dinner. YES!
This is the third or fourth time we've been to this Lawry's. This time the service was slow. We didn't mind, because we were having a good time, but it was slower than it should have been. Food was good, but not great, and not as good as past experiences. We had a good time and the food was good, but I have to say that I was disappointed in the overall experience.
Interestingly, the suggested tip amounts at the bottom of the bill were incorrect. Our total bill with tax was $107.71. The amount suggested for an 18% tip was $21.69 (actually 20.13%) and should have been $19.38; the amount suggested for a 20% tip was $24.10 (actually 22.37%) and should have been $21.54.
Our server was very pleasant and helpful and earned her 20%, but Lawry's didn't live up to their reputation.
After years of talk about Lawry’s, I finally decided to try it. In the nicest way possible, I don’t get the hype. It’s a dated restaurant, but in a very classy way. It’s like going to your rich grandmother’s for dinner. The service was good, but not “out of this world” as you might expect from the hype. Most of the food was good, but I don’t recommend the Spinach Artichoke Dip. The Prime Rib Cart was a hoot and the meat was delicious. It was just a casual outing for us, but both of us left thinking “meh.” In a metroplex of fine dining, I’m not sure this stands at the top (or even the middle). For $160 for 2 (and we dined cheap (only 1 glass of wine and no dessert)), there are other (possibly better) options available. Cheers!
We brought a 2nd couple with us who were sharing our anniversary. The evening was very nice and low key. We ordered one glass of wine to share with my wife. A different employee came with 4 small vials of wine, (not ordered) and served each guest. The wine was good, but we could have bought a bottle for the table. Where this other waiter came from surprised us and as he said nothing, we didn't know it was not complementary.
30 years plus customer and we love the ambience, the food and the presentation.
We are early diners and the only reason they did not get the 5th star is that we had a 5pm reservation, arrived at approximately 4:50 and they were not ready to seat us. Were seated about 20 minutes later.
Olga was a very new server, but very good and the prime rib and sides were delicious.
The prime rib and filet were excellent. However, the server neglected to bring the Yorkshire Pudding with the prime rib. It was Father’s Day; therefore, typical items such as the daily soufflé for dessert were unavailable.
We were there for our anniversary and they did not disappoint! The service was top notch and the food was outstanding! It made our special day that much more special. If you like Prime Rib then Lowery's is the place to go.
we had a great time, as usual, have been going there it seams forever, at least 30 years, probably longer. We enjoy the service, the food and especially the people. Sl of our friends stopped by to wish us the best.
this was one of my wife favorite restaurant , before my wife pass away in 2016 we always went to Lawry’s to eat and to celebrate our anniversary or a special night out.
June 17, is our wedding anniversary would have been 35 years with my girl. This is a special place for me .
Thanks for the great service
I came to Lawry's specifically for the Prime Rib. It was very good but the portions have gotten smaller. I ordered the biggest cut and expected a big cut for $55. It really didnt look much different from the smaller cuts at the table.
