Lawry's The Prime Rib - Chicago Ratings and Reviews
We Love Lawry’s. Only issue was slow service when we were first seated at our table. We waited for an unacceptable amount of time before our waiter came over to us. I also wasn’t thrilled with our waiter’s efforts to “sell” us his favorite wine at a much higher price than the one we had already chosen. This should not be a tactic of such an outstanding Restaurant.
Once we cleared these two issues though everything was great.
Ms Kliver our waitress was terrific. The food was outstanding. What took away from the evening was Pedro (I believe that was his name) the bus boy needs to learn how to remove dishes from a table in an upscale restaurant. He banged dishes around, threw things on the tray, reached across the table to grab dishes, tried to take food away from the table before we were done. Nothing like trying to push one out. I made mention to the hostess, but don’t know how far that went. This is a great restaurant but they need to train their staff better.
it is s family friendly prime rib house but is not elegant for a date night. The outdated outfits of the waitstaff seemed odd to us.
The prime rib was excellent although the portion was smaller than expected since it was the Lawry cut. We were happy to go there once.
It was our first time at Lawry's! Food was awesome--the filet was my favorite. Loved the extra touches and the spinning salad bowl was great! The staff was very attentive and spent time explaining the choices as well as the history of Lawry's. I was extremely impressed with a wait staff person who had to deal with a customer who was not a nice person. Complimented the manager and thanked those who were working on New Year's Eve so we could have a special night out on the town! Thank you!
We have celebrated New Years Eve at Lawry’s for the past 6 years. Actually this is the only restaurant that we go to when we drive into Chicago. The service is exceptional & the food is always outstanding. Unfortunately this year we were disappointed that the size of the portions were different between mine & my wife’s. Hers was definitely smaller even though we both ordered the same meal. The food was excellent, but we were both very disappointed about the portions issue. We probably should have questioned it at the time. We will go back because you can not find better Prime Rib, but we will speak up if that happens again.
This was our 2nd time to Lawry's and it just was'nt the same experience as the first time 3 years ago.
Staff was lackadaisical and un-energetic; food wasn't hot when served, incorrect to the order, and just wasn't worth the money charged.
Not sure what happened between then and now, but a big part of this trip was to come and eat here.
Wont come back and will find another steak/prime rib location for our next trip.
