Great meal!! The server was awesome. The appetizer of crab cakes were great. The California cutbis nit worth $41 but the rest of the meal was great.

The classic elegance is gone. It feels more like a tourist trap. The servings were skimpy compared to years ago. The fine silver service is gone.
Don’t mind paying high prices for a great experience but the experience can only be defined as okay.
Screaming children at the next table did nothing to enhance the dinner.
The prime rib is quite even though the cut is skimpy. The big bowl of whipped horseradish has been relegated to a tiny ramekin as has the fresh horse radish. The Yorkshire pudding was not fresh, just a reheated corner for each guest. Our service was slow even though the restaurant was not full. Perhaps, another red-flag.
The freshly brewed coffee that was served from gleaming silver pots is now luke-warm and served from a dingy aluminum thermos.
Overall, I gave 3 stars because Lawry’s can do better and they should $$

Lawry's is my husband's FAVORITE restaurant in the world, so where else should we go for one of his special birthdays, even though we live in Atlanta?!? Chicago is the closest location to us, and we have eaten once before at this beautiful 19th century setting (also at the original in Los Angeles). The trip was well worth it! Our party of seven (including children and spouses) had a spectacular meal! Calamari and shrimp cocktail appetizers, prime rib, seafood special (scallops) and salmon, a variety of delicious sides and a special birthday dessert, along with wines and other adult beverages, left us wanting for nothing when we departed! We sat at a nice round table which allowed for easy conversation and had a spectacular evening. Next on our wish list is to open a Lawry's in Atlanta!!

Prime rib still the best; the spinning salad bowl's dressing taste different, used to be good.

Food was great. Waitress seemed a little put out when we didn't order alcoholic beverage. She didn't share any potato options or add on options with us as she did other tables.

Más fama que buen lugar, mala la calidad de los alimentos y costo excesivo, hay mucho mejores lugares donde comer que este.

They had a problem with our table, however they were very considerate and gave us each a free glass of wine while they fixed the seating issue. Great attention to detail, and if u want great prime rib, why go elsewhere?

I found this place on a few sites and it was very near where I was staying on the Mag Mile. All in all, it was a nice meal. The prime rib was good, but not great. The sides were a bit bland, but the salad was very good. The au jus was more a brown gravy, but the horseradish options were great. Nice ambiance taking you back to old Chicago but the service, in general, was a bit lack-luster. Most didn't seem to want to be there, which is always a disappointment when you're spending good money on a meal. I was by myself on this visit but would give this place another try with my family and friends when in Chicago again and hope the moral issues have been worked out.

Another wonderful meal at Lawry’s . Mr. Rice was an exceptional server. Friendly, knowledgeable, shared a couple of tidbits of information I hadn’t heard before- Mainly around the salt that I’ve used for decades and the pepper. A little bit of a history lesson is always good with a fine piece of prime rib.

We were seated quickly and right at reservation. However, we were seated at the only table in the middle of the center area so carving station could not come to us which was very disappointing and the only reason we went. Our waitress did not come to our table for 12 minutes after being seated and I had to speak to the water busboy to get our waitress and he had to ask the hostess to do it because he didn’t know. The waitress repeated a question to us on three occasions trying to make small talk with us. The carver did not even come to the table to find out how I wanted prime rib cooked. The food and ambiance were spectacular but do not make up for the poor service. And to end the night, we received the wrong bill and had to ask our waitress to get the correct one. Now I have two charges on my credit card that I have to wait to clear and find out if they actually charged me twice. I won’t go back and won’t recommend others go there.

We had to wait a few minutes for our table, so we enjoyed a nice cocktail at the bar. Service there was somewhat haphazard - maybe the bartender was overwhelmed? No one asked us if we wanted a drink... we had to seek someone out to help us even though there was not a large crowd. Then my husband had to spend a rather long time trying to get someone to settle the tab when our table was ready - seemed a bit disorganized, but maybe we hit a night when they were short-handed or something? Food is always excellent. This is not a place for a quick bite... service is good but not quick. The mansion surroundings are to be savored as much as the food... plan to take your time to enjoy the Lawry's experience... we always come back!

The food was great. The service by the people that serve you was very good, especially Allen aka "Lawrys Big Daddy".
The only thing that was a "little" annoying was my reservation was at 5pm and i got there at 4:30 and was told they call you at the exact time of your reservation, so se went to the bar. This was fine because thats what im use to at a steakhouse, but 5:20/5:30 ish came and had not came and got me and my party. So we had to go and remind the host of his words, and it wasnt crowded yet. That needs work, but other than that it was fine. I will return.

As long-time patrons at Lawrys, we have enjoyed good food and the good service. Unfortunately tonight our luck ran out. While we asked for our favorite server who we have known for a long, long time who was serving right next to our table, we were told by the host that you can wave to her but your server is xxxx. And there you have it. I won't list the failures, but I will say, if you buy a $122 bottle of wine, one would expect that the server would pour every glass. If not, why leave a tip on it. Tells you how often she came to our table.

My husband brought me here for the first time on my birthday when we were dating. Was amazing in 2002 and is still amazing when we brought our 11 year old for his first time. My only very minor complaint was the creamed spinach tasted like creamed onions. The prime rib and service was excellent as always.

Painfully slow service. The entire meal, from appetizer to dessert was a three hour experience. The food was outstanding, but no bargain either. I had the “Beef Bowl” cut of prime rib. Although I haven’t been to Lawry’s recently, I was surprised that this, their largest cut, was so small. When I expressed surprise I was told that it is now 22 ounces with the bone. For $64, that’s expensive especially when competition a few blocks away serves 32 ounces for $58 which is every bit as good with respect to quality.

The service was very good and the food was good. The California cut prime rib was tasty but a little tough. The requested rare was appropriate. The mash potatoes were very good and the spin salad was also very good. The ambiance of the rooms was excellent and the actual meat service was excellent.
