We’ve been there many times, but this time the service was so slow. I finally had to complain to the manager. It was disappointing because we were entertaining a colleague from out of the country. I do have to say they did take the cost of the wine off the bill. If it had been our first visit it would have been our last.
Wonderful food, great service. Very expensive, so be prepared.
Muy bien todo.
Food was very good. Service was good as well. Prime rib cart was parked at the entrance of out booth for a long period. Seems unprofessional .
not our first time there and it is still great. Food was great and the service was superior
Great ambience great service our group of three birthdays had a blast
When the prime rib was cut table side, they did not ask whether we wanted so much of the juice on it. The plates were literally covered in the juice. They should have asked if you wanted the juice, and how much.
Nostalgic might be the best adjective for this long-time favorite with its iconic roast beef sliced tableside and its spinning salad bowl with delicious dressing. We love the Yorkshire pudding, the creamed spinach with bacon, the attentive service, and the decades of happy memories of Lawry's meals. I cook at home with Lawry's seasoned salt and pepper always close at hand.
My ocasion was to propose to my girl friend on her birthday at Lawry's. Everything was perfect.
Great food, great night out with great people!
Came to Chicago after seeing Lawry’s on a show on Food Network. Food was great. We both had the prime rib. I got the Lawry’s cut and my husband got the beef bowl. I also ordered the creamed spinach. Their traditional salad was good, a little overdressed for me but my husband loved it. Prime rib was cooked to perfection. I’m not a gravy fan but my husband loved it. The Yorkshire pudding was sublime, a little different than mine but delish. My husband got key lime pie for dessert and LOVED it. Very tart and the perfect way to end a heavy meal. I tried the sticky toffee pudding and it was ok. I’ve had Gordon Ramsey’s in Vegas so for me this was meh. We will definitely be back the next time we come to Chicago. Our server was wonderful. I didn’t get her name but she was friendly, efficient and the perfect amount of hovering.
We have been dining at Lawry's for 30 years, and have always had a great experience.
Favorite restaurant! We drive almost 2 hours several times per year to dine at this unique restaurant with some of the best prime rib we have ever had.
Old classic leads to disappointment, a long time Chicago staple left us feeling the money was not well spent. The food was not anything special, the service was slow and prices to much for for the quality.
Have been coming here for probably 40 years. Always perfect!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Lawrey,s Restaurant in Chicago. Our waitress and servers were all very personable and wonderful. The food was superb. I loved the atmosphere and the dress of the servers. It added to making it an even more special experience. Thank you all. I have always been a fan of the Lawrey's seasonings and was so excited to go to their restaurant and learn about the family history. We will be back.
Have been coming to your establishment since 1977. It is such a pleasure to come to a place that that is so predictiable for the food, service and ambiance. Thank you for the past 40+ years.
Please keep an outstanding business running.
Our meal was superb, the Prime Rib tasted excellent, and the service was top notch. From the moment you walk in checking in with the hosts you feel well taken care of here. Our carver, Garland, was very personable, and the manager Michael was very courteous. We look forward to our next visit to Lawry's the Prime Rib Chicago!
As always, the prime rib was excellent! Service was great!
Incredible place. The Chicago history and incredible experience make this a place we will visit again and again.
Very good food and service!! I alway enjoy a special night out at your location.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had and I don’t know why it took me so long to go there.
Excellent service and the prime rib was delicious. We were looking forward to having dinner there and it did not disappoint.
Lawry's continues to be our favorite restaurant. The ambiance is elegant, the food outstanding and service impeccable. Kelly serving and Allen carving made for another memorable meal. Thank you and we will be back very soon!
this place was simply amazing, the decor was stunning, now the more important part. the food was amazing, first the spun salad was unbelievable, the prime rib roast beef cut and served table side from a custom made serving cart, you have to try the Diamond Jim cut with bone-in, a couple of sides and definitely there was no room for dessert. Service was impeccable. little bit pricey but worth it
Our favorite restaurant of all time. Anytime we get to Chicago it’s a stop for sure.
It was great like always.
Lawry’s is a Chicago institution but we felt a little rushed.
The spinning salad was just lettuce and beets with French dressing.
We all had the Lawry’s cut of Prime Rib which was excellent.
I would recommend it for the classical ambience but be forewarned. It is a meat market and they want a fast turnaround of tables.
This is the only place I will order prime rib. It's medium rare every time.
Lawry's is a classic Chicago restaurant with great food, excellent servers and grand atmosphere.
From the valet to the service it was an experience. Absolutely enjoyed the time spent there. Food was amazing.
I had not been to Lawry's for years, and was absolutely delighted that the dining ambience, the special service setting (spinning salad with delicious dressing, and focus on the over-the-top prime rib of beef) had not changed at all. A venerable Chicago icon, in every way. It was a WONDERFUL evening accompanied by a beautifully-performed cocktail and a very nice bottle of wine. Server had been there 44 years, and was just a lovely lady and pro. What more can be asked for UNDER $100?
We got there a little early and our wait time was only 5 mins before our scheduled reservation. Which was amazing and our waitress was spectacular and suggested lobster mac and cheese in the wait room area.
Had a great time celebrating a birthday!
Host was beyond rude. We had a reservation at 6 pm , showed up a little early (15 min) he rudely dismissed us to wait in the corner , even though they weren’t even busy, then I came back at 6:01 , he said it’s not 6:00, I only go by my watch ... more rudeness, then at 6:05 he said, they’ll be a bit of a wait... then we were seated by an equally rude head waiter...
all of this I’m sure seems trivial, and I’m sure will not be read, but this was supposed to be a special dinner for my daughters birthday, which was noted on the reservation but made no mention of, as my 8 year old daughter noted “ We should’ve gone to Joe’s Crab house Dad... they’re much nicer there...
Love this place!
Excellent food and a delightful waitress. She kept us on schedule to leave for our opera that evening.
Never a disappointment at Lawry’s. The staff is fantastic, shout out to Mr. Rice, he made the evening even more enjoyable.
Miss Hodges provided outstanding service! Life changing experience and one of the finest dining experiences Chicago has to offer.
