There is a serious possibility that I will not be able to eat prime rib anywhere else again. Amazing! Everything was excellent. Everyone says the creamed spinach is the side to get, and it was good, but for me, the corn was the hidden little gem.

Lawry's is the place to go for prime rib. The service continues to be excellent and the signature salad, prime rib, mashed potatoes and cream corn is a one of a kind dining experience.

We thought the chocolate bag desert was the best until we had the new chocolate cart.

Very formal, dated ambiance. Waitress uniforms made me think of "Hazel" (Mr. B's maid in the 1960s sitcom by the same name).
Prime rib was good. Served on a plate with a scoop of mashed potatoes plopped onto it. Small ladle of gravy in an indentation in the potatoes. Yorkshire pudding provided with which to "soak up the au jus", but there was none. No broccoli spear or even a sprig of parsley to enliven the plate.
Very expensive for what one received.

Absolutely phenomenal prime rib. It’s not an inexpensive experience but it was worth every penny for the quality. Great place to celebrate a special occasion!

Low key, elegant and delicious. The server was professional, knowledgeable, and hospitable. Most of all, it was fun.

Not a great value for the price. Nothing special. Not a lot to the prime rib. Aus jus was thicker than expected and overwhelmed the taste of the prime rib. Kinda masked. Plain mashed potatoes. Spinning salad was unique, though.

Lawry's remains a great spot for a nice prime rib, upscale dining.
It has been many years since I dined at Lawry's. I ordered center cut filet and it was delicious! The food is as good as I remember however, I was a little disappointed in the service. Our family chose to dine at Lawry's to celebrate my son's and my birthday. The waitress didn't seem as friendly towards our family as I noticed she was with other guests. In addition, I asked her advice on which dressing for steaks was best..bearnaise vs. peppercorn sauce to be exact. She proceeded to explain what a bearnaise sauce is in a condescending manner. I voiced my knowledge of sauces, just wanted to know if the restaurant had a favorite. Our family is African American, so I took this exchange a bit personally. It may take a while before I visit Lawry's again. The waitress sort of soured the experience for our family.

Went with the small cut ribeye and it was good. Good temp, good flavor. Opted for mashed instead of the accompanied scalloped and thought they were quite substandard for such a pricey restaurant. Dry and flavorless. Old school setting was kinda cool. Waitress was very good. Had an amazing malbec with dinner. I dont recommend spending $200 here for 2. Go to a steakhouse and get your moneys worth. I felt slighted. It was not worth the tab at all.

Went for our tenth wedding anniversary. I had seen Lawrys on the travel channel. My two favorite seasonings are Lawrys seasoning salt and their pepper . The prime rib was everything I had hoped for. I ordered the beef bowl and the creamed spinach but don’t think I even tasted the spinach Didn’t want to pay all that money and get full on spinach. My wife ordered the salmon and she said it was alright. Personally not sure what all the fuss is about salmon anyhow. You usually have to drench it in some kind of bourbon sauce to kill the fishyness of salmon . My only complaint would be the salad dressing, I don’t like French or any other heavy creamy based dressings but they did have oil and vinegar. Not everybody likes everything. If I ever go back to Chicago I will head right back to Lawrys.

I felt like I was in a time capsule! The salad was incredible-- chilled fork, hand spun, and super fresh and crunchy. The prime rib lived up to its reputation. The service was excellent. Great experience!
