Had another fantastic experience at Lawry's with Sandra as our waitress. She was extremely friendly and helpful when my dad and I had to switch out our cuts for more done ones. The whole staff wore masks and face shields. Tables were properly distanced. Could not have asked for a better experience.
Our table was located in the absolutely best spot! Our server was warm and attentive. We've been coming here for more than 20 years.
The fillet mignon was very old and the top layer was too salty and filled with charcoal.
The best prime rib and dining experience in the world. With amazing service, drinks, food, and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back. Exceptional place.
First impressions are definately everything. As I walked through the entrance everything was warm and dazzling. Unfortunately my table was at the very back of the patio. My chairs and table was distinctly different from the tables observed at the entrance. Chairs and table were mediocre and the tarp overhead with one string of light didnt set the mood I envisioned. It was about 45degrees and the heater was not consistently providing heat. Only propane fueled heaters were for diners seated at the entrance. The very back tables like mine had more of a fan blowing cool air, which didnt help at all. My food arrived timely but I was unable to absolutely enjoy it due to the Luke warm temperature. The prime rib was seasoned to perfection, and am sure if it was hotter, the meal would have been a 5 star. A household name like lawrys should be able to provide a consistent ambience for all diners since we are paying the exact price for the same dining experience. My family and I were disappointed with the ambience. The surroundings and ambience certainly didnt correlate with the caliber of food offered and served. I suggest requesting seats at the entrance or preferred seatings for the ultimate dining experience at lawrys.
I have always enjoyed Lawry's. Obviously, it is not fine dining, but it's a fun experience. That said, the pandemic prevents them from actually providing what was the Lawry's experience. There's no spinning salad, just a limp collection of prepackaged greens carried to the table and tossed with a mediocre dressing. No one carves the prime rib at tableside any more--it appears pre-carved from the kitchen, which unfortunately calls attention to it not being particularly good.
This is probably a long-winded way of stating the obvious: the pandemic isn't doing anyone any good, including some our favorite restaurants.
Sunday Brunch was excellent. Service was attentive and we had a terrific time.
Brunch at Lawry's was amazing the outside patio near a busy street and no traffic noise. Great job, hopefully see you soon.
Excellent service and food and felt completely safe due to COVID.
My server was great! They take covid precautions everywhere in the restaurant. Loves the atmosphere and outdoor seating.
Dined outside and it was pleasant. They did a pretty good job of taking care of everyone. Food was delicious.
Everything was nice
Fiona was fantastic!
She has been there many years and was very attentive to our every request and need
everybody tries very hard to make the experience great
Great experience. Will come back!
The food and service were good at the table. We left take-out boxes on the table. We were waiting for our car for a while. Is it too selfish to expect your busboy or waitress to just walk 20 steps to give us it?
I am a VIP Platinum member, so I come to Lawry's often. This was lackluster at best. I tried a new menu item, which is part of the problem. I went for the crispy skin Jidori chicken, which was not crispy, and actually quite bloody inside. I like my Prime Rib bloody...not my chicken.
Lesson learned...stick to the staples.
Lawry's food is always consistent and well done. Service was slow but with the climate they are dealing with it was not bad at all.
The servers deserved to work there. We were happy to patronize this iconic establishment. We hope that it will get back to the roving carts and spinning salads that were fun to watch. Foe now, the service is as excellent despite the difficult situation of keeping safe and trying to eat in the restaurant’s parking lot. The food was excellent as usual, and we think the creamed spinach is even better than before. We won’t miss the Dickens carolers next year. We are looking forward to Lawry’s in 2021!
It was good!
The food was great but our server has horrible. A bad enough experience to consider not returning even though the food was amazing. We used to visit this restaurant annually at least.
Always SOLID - one of the best places in LA for as long as I can remember. They did an amazing job with their outside -- and following protocols. Peter the manager is a class act! Does it right, focusing on service and quality.
Things were not exactly the same - the food just wasn't the same but it was good. It seemed like things were made ahead and then reheated and not the same. Too much salad dressing and lettuce was soggy, the yorkshire pudding was so dry and hard it was like eating crackers, we asked for a new one and it was doughy, the PR was not very hot, mashed potatoes and veggies were good. We understand nothing is the same so we didn't complain and we were just happy that they were still open. We have purchases food to go and have eaten at Five Crowns (inside) during this pandemic time and both of those times were very good. We will continue to come here and hopefully, things will change in the next few months.
Was a little worried about how outdoor dining was going to go in the age of covid, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was a colder night, but Lawry's had a open (airy) but enclosed area for outdoor dining with heating. Actual heating and not a heat lamp. It was warm enough to eat without a jacket on.
Food is always great here!
Good quality and service
Really enjoyed our time celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday
It was an awesome experience, celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday she really enjoyed it.
Food was amazing. Wine was 50% off weds. Too bad you don’t get the full experience duo go Covid. But, overall ambiance was nice romantic setting.
My favorite restaurant for treating gratuity.
Same quality of food and nice service in quite a good outdoor dining decoration.
Enjoyed so much
Even though we were there early 30min, they sat us down & took our order within 15min.
The service was great, and the food was equally good.
Absolutely wonderful service, ambiance, and food. I am surprised how great of an experience we had even-though we were in a tent and didn't get to enjoy the side-table service we are accustomed too. Nevertheless, Lawry's did not let us down and made it another memorable evening. Thank you so much!
We were very disappointed in the cut of Prime Rib we were served. It was fatty and tough.
Best food and ambiance! There’s no place like Lawry’s!
Such a lovely dinner! Thank you, Lawry's for taking COVID precautions seriously while providing a delicious, high quality dining experience. Really miss the carving carts and spinning salad table-side, but know they will return when it's safe to do so.
They've done a good job with the outdoor space. You lose a lot of the ambiance that makes Lawry's so special, but the food is still delicious.
The outdoor dining was fantastic.
