Wonderful as always. My go to place for family occasions.
Excellent service! Food was superb!
Absolutely wonderful service and quality of food! Never a disappointment.
We throughly enjoyed every aspect of our dining
I absolutely love coming to eat here! The waitstaff is amazing and friendly, even management is super welcoming when they greet you. The food is to die for, when we do come out here to treat ourselves, it’s an experience every single time.
solid meal with old school charm. prime ribs is their go to and nobody will be blown away by prime ribs in general but the restaurant does an excellent job of making good prime ribs and complimentary sides consistently. It’s a bit overpriced but the ambience and the old school charm makes up some of it.
I was very excited to actually dine in at Lawry’s after over a year. We went to celebrate a special birthday and the restaurant made sure to acknowledge his birthday.
The lower capacity inside the restaurant ensured a much quieter dining experience. The service was excellent! I really did miss the spinning salad at the table and the cart to serve the prime rib.
One of the wines we ordered was not available and there wasn’t a comparable alternative. It was nice that they offer 2 sizes of wine served and an option to order a bottle.
The food was tasty and the servings were large.
Due to the pandemic, Lawry’s had outdoor and indoor dining but I was not informed about this when I made the reservation. When we were being ushered to one of the tables outside, we noticed that some guests were inside the restaurant. We asked if we could be seated inside but was told there would be a wait.
Their outdoor dining is not bad but because it was a chilly afternoon (we had a 4:30 pm reservation), our food got cold real fast, especially the prime rib.
We will go back again but next time, we’ll make sure that we get seated inside.
The only place you can find prime rib eggs Benedict. Amazing!
Food was amazing as always, but I was a little perturbed they actually enforced the 2 hour table-time. When you go to Cheesecake Factory or something similar, you can sort of expect that. But when you’re at a restaurant of this caliber, I don’t think the Thought/Social Police will start making arrests if parties last three hours instead of two.
I understand they have limited seating, however we didn’t know they enforced this rule until near the end of our meal. Still a great experience (although they don’t bring the prime-rib cart out anymore or do the “spinning bowl salad” at the table either) but the value of the experience has certainly decreased due to the Draconian Pandemic restrictions put in place by the great authoritarian himself, Gruesome Newsom. Thanks Newsom. Glad you didn’t have to worry about these “peasant issues” when you dined at the French Landry or ate with George Lopez. Guess it’s great to be king!
But hey, these are the reasons I’m leaving California!
I must say, I was impressed with the hostess who was able to get us a seat inside; most people were being sat in the outdoor area, and I was glad she heeded my plea.
So if you can handle with these things and are still willing to cough up some dough for it, I still highly recommend Lawry’s. The prime-rib cannot be beat!
The food was very good. There is a minimum amount of time per table and it is strictly enforced. So don’t plan on dilly-dallying.
Yes, we are still under quarantine restrictions, so I know we have to make allowances.
I have been to LAWRYS probably over a hundred times in my lifetime. This visit was not one of the better ones.
Started O.K. Valet parking was kinda cramped but, understandable with the outdoor dining. But we are at the orange tier 50% indoor dining phase. We didn't get a indoor dining option.
Took a little longer than usual to order & get our cocktails & order Dinner But O.K.
Then we start to realize how much Presentation affects perceived value of the dinner.
No Spinning Salad, no giant Prime Rib Cart brought to your table so you can specify the
cut you want.
By the time I was finishing my Prime Rib I realized I could probably name a handful of other restaurants where the dinner was better. Before then I had always had LAWRYS Prime Rib the standard that other places were measured by.
Will come back after we are at 100% indoor capacity & judge then. Meanwhile I'm gonna
hit those other restaurants that popped into my head.
Service was rushed and the food quality and taste was not impressive as before.
The only complaint I have is there two hour time limitation. If you’re late even for 1015 minutes for your reservation it’s been deducted from the two hours time limitation. That should be extended to either 2 1/2 or three hours. Realistically two hours is not enough to enjoy your food and have some kind of socialization with your friends
Jessica was a phenomenal server. Food was great and their take on an Old Fashion amazing.
This was my first time and it was possibly the best meal I have ever had - from the bread, salad all the way to the steak.
The food lacked flavor. The Mac b cheese barely had any cheese. The creamed corn was good. Everything else feel very short. The baked Potatoe would have been good had we got it with our prime rib and not 20 minutes later.
First ate at Lawry’s in September 1968. Have been a regular ever since.
Great food, wine and service. The outdoor dining has great seating and heat lamps.
Lawry’s consistently provides astounding service! I had pleasant interactions beginning from valet all the way to our dining experience. The host and hostess were very accommodating. We had the pleasure of having Mark as our server and he was so patient, kind, and attentive.
It was my first time going and my overall experience was great. From the food to the service everything was excellent. I will definitely be coming back soon
Everything was perfect. Delicious food & we were thankful for the covid safety precautions.
We sat inside. in the back room. We were 1 of 4 tables sat there. Clifton was very attentive and welcoming
El lugar se ve muy vacío por el protocolo de covid
La ensalada ya servida da la impresión de haber sido preparada con anticipación y no está muy buena
El prime rib sigue excelente y el personal sumamente amable
I would wait till they are able to do table side service again. Super disappointed that we did not get the full experience of the restaurant Plus when you sit outside I truly disagree about bringing dogs.
What’s the point of reservation if you have to stand in cold for more than 10 minutes...
The service once inside was good. Just have to do better greeting
Food was excellent.
Been a customer for over 15years! Best Prime Rib in the area.
The food, service, and ambiance at Lawrys is always spectacular and in these early semi-post covid days it’s delightful to know that none of this has changed! Although the big silver carts are gone, at least outside, the food remains top notch. Sitting outside was lovely and the entire meal a wonderful return from lock down while still safe and appropriately distanced. Yum!
Overall, the outdoor seating has improved over time. The large tent is more weather resistant but now that rainy season is over, it isn't a big issue. Prime rib dinner was good, there was a small check error but opted not to fuss over it.
Food was cold my sparkling wine was hot my steak was rare even though I asked well done
Great Experience Will Return Again For a Meal with Family
It was mention to Server last time I not satisficed with prime rib with overcook with medium rare. At this time it is same situation, prime rib with overcook, I am not a chef but food quality it was down grade. Don't know, will no longer recommend with other friend. I may tried somewhere across street old Lawry's building.
I have been a long time patron of Lawry's but have not visited in a while. I chose to go there for my 80th Birthday. Very disappointed. The meat was not tender at all. We had to ask for steak knives and even then we had trouble cutting it.
The medium was cooked rare. We were outside and there was a lot of noise from the driveway and street. I was extremely disappointed.
We had a reservation and were seated outside. We asked to be seated inside and were told that we would have to wait over an hour. I agreed to wait then I was told that the wait would cut into my dining time and that the policy was 2 hours for dining and that I would only have the time beyond my wait time to dine which could be an hour or thirty minutes. Very disappointed we were originally seated by the fence where the valet is with people’s back to us which we could see through the fence. I would only return when they have full dining inside.
for food and service it's the very best.it is a little pricy but well worth it.
Food is great but you’ll pay a pretty penny. Portions have gotten smaller over the years and prices have gone up. What else is new!
Every Easter celebration is better at Lawry’s! It has been over twenty years with the big L and is still going strong. We brought a first timer with us this visit and he was beyond impressed. Service continues to be above and beyond, pandemic or not. Thank you Lawry’s!!!
First outing since they started indoor dining at minimal capacity. The service is always on point. Food is always outstanding. There is a 2 hour limit per table...but who really needs 2 hours to eat Lawry's delectable prime rib, velvety mashed potatoes, savory spinning salad, and delicious creamed sides? The Yorkshire pudding was huge. As far as Covid protocol, everyone wore a mask when needed, no tableside spinning salad, and no cart wheeled out to show and carve your cut. The quality of the food, ambiance, and outstanding service is what makes it for my family. Our table of 5 went home happy, fulfilled, and nap-ready.
Everything was terrific. We wanted to try out the dining room since it had just re-opened. The service was excellent, as can be expected here, even without the spinning salad bowl and the tableside carving cart. The last two items were the result of the health department restrictions, but the food was nonetheless delicious as always. Thanks to Lawry’s for coming through as always!
Having lunch at Lawry's was my first experience. The food and service was amazing. However, they need to update the uniform of the servers....the look is too ancient!
