If you're going to a prime rib restaurant and you don't get the prime rib then you're doing it wrong. Lawry's prime rib is excellent and I love their creamed corn.

The prime rib and steak was sooo tender.
Our host Garcia was very nice and made conversation with us. She was the best host I've had so far. She was very engage with us.

We took our daughter and her boyfriend out to dinner as they have been taking care of our pets while we were traveling recently. Our party of four all loved our meals and the prime rib was cooked to perfection. Michelle, our waitress, was wonderful, knowledgeable about the food and had a great sense of humor. It made our dining experience even better. We cannot wait to go back to Lawry's.

Too crowded. Didn't expect so little space to dine at the Lawry's. Feel like a tourist spot instead of a authentic prime rib steak house.

Best prime rib I've had and the hollandaise sauce!!!!
The hostesses were a little rude and short spoken. Seemed annoyed.

The prime rib is cooked so you can cut it with a butter knife. I found my medium rare traditional cut to have a lot of fat in the middle but it also appeared to be a little thicker. If you like corn get the creamed corn. Well worth the extra charge. Restaurant was crowded and noisy and I could hear music in the background which was not needed to be playing. Not a good place if you want a quiet, romantic dinner.

Everything was great!! Except I wish they didn’t discontinue the unlimited meatballs & Potato Chips they give while waiting to be seated. We do get Potato Chips but we have to go to the bar to get it.

The food, as usual, was very good. However, we felt rushed through the entire meal and the waitress was not very attentive. The bus person started picking up our bread plates without asking as soon as the salads were finished. Well, we wanted bread with our meal, so we wanted to keep our bread plate. Then another bus person picked up everything on our table while one in our party was still eating her entree! She could not even have time to finish her meal before the entire table was cleared off!! We ordered 4 lobsters with our prime rib and the waitress forgot to place the order. We had to ask for the lobster tails and needless to say, they arrived after we were already well into the prime rib! Our reservation was for 4:30 and we were out by 6:30. I don’t think taking up a table for 6 for 2 hours is excessive so I was very disappointed in the experience. Our bill was $600 so it wasn’t like we ordered the minimum and overstayed our welcome.

This is an old school prime rib parlor. Nothing special about the president me rib except they cut it at your table. Everything is below par. Service is intrusive. Dining room is outdated as are the uniforms. Wine list is horrible. Were they good at one time? I can’t see it.

The food and service were top notch as usual. Our waitress, Laura, was attentive and personable. The portions were ample, however, we thought the cream corn was kind of skimpy for 4 people.

Iconic restaurant that survives due to it location and history. Not prime grade meat. Overpriced for quality.
Will not return.

My husband and I have been coming to Lawrys for over 30+ years. The prime rib is the best we have ever had. The servers are so friendly and courteous. It is worth driving almost 2 hours to get a fantastic meal.

Eating here is definitely an experience! It feels like the restaurant is stuck in a time warp (in a fun way) with the decor, outfits, and overall ambiance coming straight out of the 30's when Lawry's first opened. The service was great and the food was AMAZING. My partner and I had mixed feelings on their famous spinning salad. It's pretty cool how they make it and it tasted OK, but it wasn't anything to die for. The real wow-ing came with the entrees and side dishes. Prime rib, lobster, creames spinach and corn.... Their prime rib really is something special - I mean it's what their known for for a reason! Overall a great experience!

The service was fantastic. My prime rib was great. However the ribeye steak that my wife and son ordered were subpar. We should have sent them back but did not do so since we tend to not be complainer. My wife and son felt that the steaks we buy from Costco was better than what we were served for our meal. We do not get out to fancy restaurants very often so we were disappointed with the meal quality that my wife and son were served.

The prime rib is amazing! The mashed potatoes are the creamiest! The Yorkshire pudding is to die for! The lobster tails were nice and plump with a fresh sweet flavor, awesome!
We came here for our 38th anniversary. We live in San Diego and our last visit was for our 24th anniversary, too long but it is a bit of a drive...totally worth it!

Thank you

Celebrated our anniversary there yesterday
Too crowded- reminded me of a public transportation hub
I am used to Alexander’s in the Bay Area so it was underwhelming
Had to wait 20 minutes despite having Opentable reservation made a month ago
Once seated we found out why
The food if you are into old school food could not be better
Cocktails are watery so stick to wine and beer

First time using an online reservation and OpenTable has made it very easy. Picking the date and time slot was VERY easy, no difficulties about that at all. Now for the actual restaurant review. I want to say this place is a very nice place to for special occasions (less casual and a bit more formal), they offer Valet as well. Service was great, the hostess was great, the waiters were amazing, and the food selection was nice and easy yet sophisticated (if that makes any sense haha). Despite the restaurant being very busy, we never felt rushed. The waiters seemed very attentive but not to the point where it felt like they were breathing down our necks, just the right level.

I’ve always been a big fan of going back to Lawrys each time out of towners visit, but this time was a bust. Service was just ok, but wow was the food subpar. The sides were great, but my meal did not warrant the near $500 we spent as a family. I think I’d rather go to Lawry’s Carvery instead.
