I have visited the establishment multiple times. I have been nothing but amazed by the excellent service that our table received. The entire staff greeted us with a smile along with eye contact and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. I do nothing else, but recommend this restaurant and the food to everyone I come across asking for a excellent 5 star restaurant. I can't wait for the next special day that I get to visit Lawry's The Prime Rib. My wife and I celebrated our 9th Wedding Anniversary with close family members and it was a night to never forget.

I thought the food was great, and a great value. The only problem i had was that, for a Tuesday night that wasn't that busy, the service was on the slow side. Too slow.

Travelled from out of town to a funeral and came after service it was rather late I had my 3 small kids on of which I needed a sling to hold her carrier I clearly asked for on my reservation I was sat in a booth and told what is a sling? And then when I asked for a chair to accommodate her carrier I was refused due to fire safety restrictions I told what I believe was a manager that I had asked in the reservation because I had a baby they failed to move me and the only place they offered to set her carrier was on the night shelf above the booths I had to remove my daughter and climb on the booth to rest it there I was also not offered to order simply my drink and a salad was brought I do not like egg but I ate it anyway it was very late my family only received one refill on our 1 1/2 dinner at 9:00pm with 2 small kids and a baby on my lap I ended up wearing most of my dinner we live out of state and love Lawry’s it’s always a stop when we are in town but I am disappointed with our last experience I also asked to purchase dressing that was never brought to my table I did not see my server most the night

This iconic place makes the best prime rib. The clientele is great in the early evening, but later at night you'll feel you are at a Denny's. High noise levels and very badly dressed people. Lots of young screaming children who were throwing food all over and it was not being picked up.

My family has been going to Lawry's for 40 years. To say we are fans is an understatement. We have celebrated so many memorable events there. The food is always the same fabulous in every way. I only wish I lived closer to Lawry's so I could go weekly! It was worth the 2 hour drive from San Diego.

I hope the new ownership keep up the high standards of this place. the wine choice was perfect. the meet was just right. end cut medium well caramelized but not tough. the salad did seem a bit welted. the pudding , corn and mashed potatoes were good as usual. the fact that they don't charge for soda refills will bring me back sooner than expected.

The food and service was amazing!!
But we are paying for an expensive meal and the people next to us are practically at dinner with us.. we could hear their entire conversation. The place was overly crowded like a Denny’s on a packed morning. Not the ambiance I was expecting. I was expecting something a little classier and romantic.

We are VIP members and enjoy going to Lawry’s for their prime rib, To begin with , the server brings out the best sour dough bread and butter. We always opt for the salad with their blue cheese dressing. For desert we always order their English trifle which is beyond words.

Me and my best friend dined here this past weekend and at first glance the place is nice looking and welcoming. The host was great by welcoming us and walking us to our table.

As far as my negative experience here started with our bubble head waitress. She didn’t seem to know her job role very well. She came and visited us when we were first sat to tell us about how to order our dinner since their setup isn’t your regular ordering food. After that she was nowhere to be found thought our whole dining time there. We had bus boys serving us in addition to having to flag down other employees of the restaurant. We even got a floor manager involved because it took us 20 mins just to get a box for our leftovers. They comped our desert but that wasn’t excusable for their lack of service. I won’t be going back!

FYI House of Prime Rib in San Francisco is HANDS DOWN 100% better in taste, service, and food!!!!!!!!

Excellent staff. Mashed potatoes were apparently made from a mix. They were bland and the texture was not right. Desserts were mediocre. We ordered crème brûlée and hot fudge sundae.
The meat can melt in your mouth and the bread was excellent. I have been going to this restaurant for 55 years. It is a monument. I’m glad I went.

As usual....the quality of the food was excellent...this time, our guests varied with their selections....prime rib, fish, childrens dishes were spaghetti and meatballs and mac and cheese...everyone enjoyed their meals.

Our server was excellent...catered to both adults and kids to our needs.

The waitstaff and service was great. Bread was very average. When the prime rib was cut and put on the plate it wasn’t very warm. Like not at all. If I am going to spend almost $400 for three people to have a meal it sure as hell better be hot. Restaurant is very loud and I think that the concierge should have asked if we wanted a table or a booth especially since we had reservations. I didn’t want a booth but the place was too packed to turn it down. Honestly, for the price the food was very average.

Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance of this fine restaurant. My husband’s California Cut of prime rib was very fatty, so he had to leave a quarter of it on his plate. The baked potato was $9.00. This should have been included. (Prime rib & baked potato belong together!).

My wife and I are long-time fans of Lawry's, having gone the first time around 1984. We moved from LA to San Diego County in 1990, but always try to visit Lawry's whenever we take a long weekend in LA. We were just there again a week ago. They remain exactly the same!! The prime rib is the greatest so tender you can literally cut it with a fork! The side dishes and salad are great, and the service is absolutely top-notch. No wonder they've been in business successfully for over 80 years!!! Never ever even THINK of closing. Keep it in the family and never sell out to some zillion dollar corporation that will destroy all you have built and worked so hard at all these years. WE LOVE LAWRY'S xoxoxoxo!!!!

It was great, as well as the food too! But the service is ok, they made you sit in the booth that it doesn’t fit you as a tall guy 6”2. And you have to talk to their manager about it. The host bring me back and forward like I am stupid. And end up I get to sit in bigger table. But I love the food! It was very good, as welll as the dessert! Hahha fantasy cake! Love it

boy, has my opinion of this place changed...I once rated them 4-5 stars! let me explain.
The reservation system is bad. they take in as many as they can and waits 30 mins beyond your reservation time is unacceptable. what if you have a show or plane to catch? Such happened to us. The manager was very kind to sit us immediately after complaining. It completely ruins the mood when you must complain and i rarely do that.
The food is the biggest decline from glory days. Mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and gravy all taste metallic as if from cans! Shame on a restaurant that charges $75 for canned food.
We were there for March special or $49 for pre fixe menu...when bill came, the server switched the billing to regular prices and our bill for 3 is over $250 for 3....no drinks. After pointing the oversight and the server knew we were already late for a show, they simply discounted a little but never gave the lower price of the promo...i was fed up, paid and left....stay away...this place needs a revamp. perhaps even a little dress code as most people were in street or beach clothing. sad, when waiters and staff are dressed and customers look like they got out of line from Disneyland. sorry if this offends anyone...that’s my opinion.
