Lavendou, a retreat into the French countryside - a place where life is savored as much as the food. Lavendou is thoroughly French, from the inviting decor to the gracious service and authentic cuisine. But don't expect it to be pretentious. Owner Pascal Cayet is dedicated to providing service that is friendly and efficient. And you will find Chef François Soyez's menu to be deliciously approachable. Serving the lighter fare of Southern France, Lavendou offers many items to tempt your taste buds.

Great place to celebrate my son’s birthday. Always a treat to dine at Lavendou.
Fabulous food! It was a full house the night we were there so it was a little loud.
A wonderful dining experience in every coarse and aspect. Beef Bourguignon, Scallops, Tournedos, and lamb were all enjoyed. Thank you to Daniel our waiter and everyone else in this seasoned team.
Dinner at Lavendou is always a special night out. The wine, food, and service is exceptional, and all of the staff is very attentive to everyone. It is crowded on weekends so be sure to make a reservation. Thank you Pascal for an amazing place to dine.
Best French Restaurant in Dallas. The food is authentic, every sauce is on point (which is what makes it the best). All servers are experienced and been there for a long time. Prices on food and wine list are way better compared to some of the trendy French bistros. You won't be disappointed!
You'll truly love the food and ambience. Pascal does a super job for his customers.
Be patient through the thick French accents and always get the soufflé
The lobster bisque was phenomenal. The Coquilles St Jacques was delicious and the scallops were cooked to perfection. The Dover sole was very good but I will probably try the duck or lamb next time I go. It was very good but the lobster and scallops were the stars. many French speaking customers which should tell you something
Get dinner. Very relaxing atmosphere. We sat at the bar and ate. The service was great. Would recommend it to anyone.
Food was a mixed result. Tenderloin was excellent but mixed vegetables and French fries tasted like they came from a bag from Kroger. Disappointed.
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a friend and celebrated my birthday. We both had the delicious chicken, spinach, mushroom crepes with french fries, and shared an apricot tart. Robert and Gigi gave us excellent service as always and the waitstaff was very attentive.
Nicely decorated, country style restaurant offering a number of French dishes. There is a covered outside patio with tall flower pots providing good privacy. We went for dinner and the restaurant was quite busy. Tables are too close together and the light is so low as if they want to save on electricity, not romantic. The owner should consider candles/lights on each table. Service: Ok, but dishes were served very quickly - why? We are not in a rush at dinner... Food: We had GoatCheese salad, which was fine and 'Terrine Maison' which was disappointingly dry, not the way you would get it in France. Main course: 'Trout Armandine' was good, mostly thanks to a lot of butter. 'Filet de Sole' was fine, a bit too much cream maybe. Dessert: 'Poire du Lavandou' was an americanized version of traditional French desert: Too much whipped cream and icecream on a bland pear. This place has potential - with a few adjustments I would recommend it.
Wow ... Lavendou is always excellent. It is crowded so be sure to make a reservation. Another fun evening and a big "thank you" to Pascal and his wonderful staff.
Busy night but still great service and hospitality
Rightfully packed on Saturday night as they continue to deliver the best French dining experience in Dallas. The grilled sardine appetizer special excelled and I plan to try it at home!
The crusty French bread remains a timeless pleasure as are the dessert soufflés.
A special shout out for the huge wine list. We had a bottle of a 2017 Guillaume Gonnet red Southern Rhône from the commune of Rasteau. A great match with the sardines, leg of lamb, and duck.
We both enjoyed our initial experience very much. My wife was delighted to find that soft shelled crabs, her favorite were a special. They were perfectly cooked and we can't wait to return. Our only complaint was a fairly high level of noise as it was Saturday night and PACKED.
Everything from arrival .. appetizers.. entree and dessert were memorable.. service was excellent !! Excellent experience.. thank you
Just discovered our new date night place! Food was amazing, Eric took great care of us and the atmosphere was wonderful!! It was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!
Still one of the best restaurants in North Dallas. Our “special occasion” place for many years.
I was surprised the crepes seemed thick , heavy and over salted. Been here many times for years. However I have not been to Lavendou for many years. Such a lovely place to dine too !
Our favorite French bistro! Friendly and helpful staff, great food, wide selection of wines. Can be a little noisy, but not too bad.
Delicious and attentive service.
A wonderful experience
Loved everything about our evening. The staff was so nice and the food outstandin
We love Lavendou. The food is wonderful. Pierre and Pascal treat us like family.
Food was great by as always service was greater!!!!
Great wine list!
Great dinner - Dover sole was fabulous!
Patio dining was perfect!
I have been looking for a good French restaurant and this delivers. I had the classic duck and it was fantastic best I have had in years. Everything was excellent except the creme brulee and I think that was because it was just an off night. If you love French food and authentic this is a great date night, romantic place albeit it's pretty loud / noisy.
Have been a frequent diner for nearly 25 years. During Covid lockdown, we embraced the Pick up menu in an effort to help ensure that the bistro survived. Now that Covid appears behind us our last 3 visits have left us concerned.
Service has been somewhat abrupt, making us feel like we’re on a stop clock timer, and rushed. Noise level is extremely loud to point where you cannot have a reasonable conversation (this is more a customer issue than establishment issue), but none the less, these last 3 recent visit left us with the feeling that it’s no longer a place to have a relaxing dinner. You feel rushed.
Lastly, this most recent visit, the desert was slightly over cooked.
After 25 years of dining, we won’t give up and have our fingers crossed that as time goes on, things settle down somewhat
We had a party of 4 and everything from start to finish was excellent! Thank you !
Always great. Food, service, ambiance.
Excellent food, great place to eat. Strongly recommended.
Beautiful French evening! food, music and wine!
We love escaping to the other side of the world for an evening.
Food, service and ambiance consistently are excellent.
The food was great and overall it was a very nice experience. I definitely recommend it.
Great wine list...escargot - fantastic! French onion soup is the real deal. It's a great place.
Lobster bisque and onion soup were delicious. Both pepper steak and lamb were perfectly prepared.
Knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff.
A very cozy space and the patio was very inviting as well.
We will definitely return soon!
great place just so very loud your having to shout at each other which totally breaks the mood
