Lavendou, a retreat into the French countryside - a place where life is savored as much as the food. Lavendou is thoroughly French, from the inviting decor to the gracious service and authentic cuisine. But don't expect it to be pretentious. Owner Pascal Cayet is dedicated to providing service that is friendly and efficient. And you will find Chef François Soyez's menu to be deliciously approachable. Serving the lighter fare of Southern France, Lavendou offers many items to tempt your taste buds.

We love to come to Lavendou Bistro. The decor is so welcoming and makes us feel like we're on a trip in Strasbourg! Last night, we celebrated a birthday and had delicious food and great service for our party of six. It's one of our favorite places to dine in Dallas area.
Authentic country French cuisine.
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Helped in selection of bottled wine.
This is hands down our favorite restaurant in the DFW area. The service is always impeccable, the food delectable ,and you can actually have a conversation without shouting over noise. We’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so.
Another enjoyable evening at Lavendou. The tomato mozzarella salad was wonderful. My husband had the 8 oz filet with peppercorn sauce that came with steamed vegetables and French fries. It was a cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the smoked salmon that was lite and delicious. The restaurant was busy so it's a good idea to have a reservation.
Delicious and consistently excellent! One of our favorites for a nice lunch or dinner. The service is very professional and knowledgeable.
The food is always great and the ambiance very good.
Outstanding food. Saturday night - a little noisy.
My wife and I loved every aspect and we were equally happy on previous visits. My wife ordered the Tournedos of Beef and I ordered Filet of Sole, not the Dover Sole, which I will try on our next visit. It was all delicious and I didn't mind that I was actually served Trout as was indicated on our receipt with **FIRE, instead of Filet of Sole.
Have yet to have less than a great experience at Lavendou. We’re fans!
Enjoyed having Theo take care of us. It was my great nieces 16th birthday and he made her feel extra special.
Our first and only problem at Lavendou was we were seated next to the back room. After we were seated a noisy crowd came in which made it hard for us to have a quite dinner.
Thanks you Theo!
Amazing as always. Easily the best service and the finest food in Dallas.
Got the wrong quiche. Ordered Loraine and got chicken.
Great place to celebrate my son’s birthday. Always a treat to dine at Lavendou.
Fabulous food! It was a full house the night we were there so it was a little loud.
A wonderful dining experience in every coarse and aspect. Beef Bourguignon, Scallops, Tournedos, and lamb were all enjoyed. Thank you to Daniel our waiter and everyone else in this seasoned team.
Dinner at Lavendou is always a special night out. The wine, food, and service is exceptional, and all of the staff is very attentive to everyone. It is crowded on weekends so be sure to make a reservation. Thank you Pascal for an amazing place to dine.
Very loud. Service was good but rushed. Food was very good in general.
Best French Restaurant in Dallas. The food is authentic, every sauce is on point (which is what makes it the best). All servers are experienced and been there for a long time. Prices on food and wine list are way better compared to some of the trendy French bistros. You won't be disappointed!
You'll truly love the food and ambience. Pascal does a super job for his customers.
Be patient through the thick French accents and always get the soufflé
The lobster bisque was phenomenal. The Coquilles St Jacques was delicious and the scallops were cooked to perfection. The Dover sole was very good but I will probably try the duck or lamb next time I go. It was very good but the lobster and scallops were the stars. many French speaking customers which should tell you something
Get dinner. Very relaxing atmosphere. We sat at the bar and ate. The service was great. Would recommend it to anyone.
Food was a mixed result. Tenderloin was excellent but mixed vegetables and French fries tasted like they came from a bag from Kroger. Disappointed.
Daniel provided excellent service and made my wife’s birthday a very special evening.
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a friend and celebrated my birthday. We both had the delicious chicken, spinach, mushroom crepes with french fries, and shared an apricot tart. Robert and Gigi gave us excellent service as always and the waitstaff was very attentive.
Nicely decorated, country style restaurant offering a number of French dishes. There is a covered outside patio with tall flower pots providing good privacy. We went for dinner and the restaurant was quite busy. Tables are too close together and the light is so low as if they want to save on electricity, not romantic. The owner should consider candles/lights on each table. Service: Ok, but dishes were served very quickly - why? We are not in a rush at dinner... Food: We had GoatCheese salad, which was fine and 'Terrine Maison' which was disappointingly dry, not the way you would get it in France. Main course: 'Trout Armandine' was good, mostly thanks to a lot of butter. 'Filet de Sole' was fine, a bit too much cream maybe. Dessert: 'Poire du Lavandou' was an americanized version of traditional French desert: Too much whipped cream and icecream on a bland pear. This place has potential - with a few adjustments I would recommend it.
Wow ... Lavendou is always excellent. It is crowded so be sure to make a reservation. Another fun evening and a big "thank you" to Pascal and his wonderful staff.
Busy night but still great service and hospitality
Rightfully packed on Saturday night as they continue to deliver the best French dining experience in Dallas. The grilled sardine appetizer special excelled and I plan to try it at home!
The crusty French bread remains a timeless pleasure as are the dessert soufflés.
A special shout out for the huge wine list. We had a bottle of a 2017 Guillaume Gonnet red Southern Rhône from the commune of Rasteau. A great match with the sardines, leg of lamb, and duck.
We both enjoyed our initial experience very much. My wife was delighted to find that soft shelled crabs, her favorite were a special. They were perfectly cooked and we can't wait to return. Our only complaint was a fairly high level of noise as it was Saturday night and PACKED.
Everything from arrival .. appetizers.. entree and dessert were memorable.. service was excellent !! Excellent experience.. thank you
Just discovered our new date night place! Food was amazing, Eric took great care of us and the atmosphere was wonderful!! It was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!
Still one of the best restaurants in North Dallas. Our “special occasion” place for many years.
I was surprised the crepes seemed thick , heavy and over salted. Been here many times for years. However I have not been to Lavendou for many years. Such a lovely place to dine too !
Our favorite French bistro! Friendly and helpful staff, great food, wide selection of wines. Can be a little noisy, but not too bad.
Delicious and attentive service.
A wonderful experience
Loved everything about our evening. The staff was so nice and the food outstandin
