Lava Lava Beach Club - Kauai
Absolutely fabulous! The service was exceptional. The beach breathtaking! Everything about our dining experience was wonderful. Highly recommend.
Wonderful view, great food and service!!
Beautiful scenery with great food! Loved the live music for added ambience.
You must go to Lava Lava when you visit Kauai! We visited Lava Lava on the Big Island during our first trip to Hawaii in 2013. My husband loved the sizzling shrimp appetizer and I enjoyed my stir fry dish served in a pineapple so much that we decided it was our favorite restaurant on our trip. When we decided to return to Hawaii and visit Kauai we were so excited to find out there was another Lava Lava on the island! The 'toes in the sand' experience cant' be beat and we loved the music in addition to the amazing food and cocktails. Make sure you find time to visit on your trip. You won't be disappointed!
Great music and view. No reservations so don’t bother using this app because you will wait.
This place was excellent. The food was was uniquely put together, fresh and delicious! We had the platter of fried calamari, ahi and coconut shrimp to start then I had the fresh fish of the day and my husband had the ahi. All were outstanding. Our server was also top notch.
Absolutely wonderful place for our daughter’s 40th birthday celebration. We flew in from the mainland and out to Kauai to treat our daughter to a fun weekend. Was just a small low key dinner with a friend & parents but the Lava Lava staff was super friendly and nice, making our special dinner so enjoyable. Pricing was reasonable for dinner and all our dishes were deliciously presented. Thank you Lava Lava Beach Club for such a wonderful birthday memory.
Great beachfront location.
Great spot located right on the beach. Live music adds to a great experience.
Nice breeze. Tasty food. Great service. Beautiful view. 8:30 breakfast plenty of room.
Good service, great help. Food good, nice athmosphere.
Gorgeous toes-in-the-sand views of the ocean and ohenome4nally delicious food. Servers tool care of us like we were family, very friendly and took care of yur every need. We ate there three times in 2 days! I wish Kauai wasn't 9 hours by plane or i would 2d at at LLBC once a week.
So busy!!! Beautiful place and food was decent service was really slow. It took an hour to get our desert which wasn’t worth the wait. Loud and busy I wouldn’t recommend.
Loved being on the beach. We had the chef’s special and it was amazing! Absolutely fantastic food and great service!
Great service. Food was delicious and came out fast. All seven of us loved our meals. Drinks were good too. Fun place with a great view.
This is a great place everyone should try.
The food was really good and eating on the beach in the sand was awesome....
Good food, good vibes, service was a little slow. But they were pretty busy that night.
Outstanding place and would go back again and again. The kids enjoyed it and service is warm and very helpful. The cocktails are very well made and the sizzling shrimp to die for.
Wonderful staff but our entrees came out before the appetizers hm
I was very pleased with this restaurant, it was our first time. I had made a reservation for 4 through Open Table and then found out that 2 more friends could join us. The staff was very accommodating. I was originally given a table that was a bit uncomfortable, I let the manager know that I have a bad hip and he immediately accommodated for us at a very nice and comfortable table.
The whole experience was wonderful, I recommend it.
It’s a perfect place to start a day with breakfast and a perfect place to end the day with a dinner.
To sit next to the ocean, to have your feed in the sand and enjoy a fantastic meal. What do you need more???
We had an amazing meal at Lava Lava Beach Club! There was beautiful live Hawaiian music with a lovely dancer. We had pupus, dinner & drinks and everything was outstanding!
Such a wonderful experience for our last night on Kaua’i! Crystal, our server, was so pleasant and made the whole experience better. Shark Bite cocktail, gazpacho, Teriyaki Steak, and Sleeping Giant dessert were the table favorites. Ambiance was perfect, band was terrific, sunset was Kaua’i typical. Ten stars all around if that were possible!
Wonderful food and gorgeous view. We will definitely be back.
The atmosphere was outstanding. Outside dining with a beach view was very nice. Our food was very good but the service was incredibly slow. Our salads, which were ordered much later than the appetizer, were brought before the appetizer. We didn't receive our side dish and the main course was almost gone before the waiter came by so that I could tell him. The problem was that this restaurant has shared responsibility, which causes nobody to feel responsible. Our glasses were empty for most of the meal because they were being refilled by someone other than our waiter. The food was brought out by the kitchen instead of the waiter. I thought they were just making a second trip for food but never came back. The waiter didn't come by so we ate the main course without sides or drinks. Again, let me be clear on this. The place has a wonderful atmosphere and the food was good. The problem is spending that kind of money to have poor service sours the experience.
I would recommend this restaurant if their management did a better job of training their wait staff. We had to ask to get more water, ask another wait staff to get our drinks we ordered the minute we sat down. Also, their garlic bread that says, “a must try”...don’t bother. Yuck!
Very poor experience. I’m fairly certain my fettuccine sauce came out of a can, and my son’s steak was literally inedible. I tried a bite and it took 5 min of chewing to get it down. No one (of four) was happy with their meal. In addition, the service was lackluster. Not horrible, but not great either. I would recommend this place for lunch or a drink, but nothing else
Nice combination of great food/service with tables right on the beach with a casual, relaxed feel. Atmosphere alone made it one of our best meals on Kauai.
Excellent service, great food and drinks, and music.
4th of July dinner was so much fun! Amazing selfie place for photos . Music was live! Service was amazing. Had happy hour specials until 6 PM. Fun for all!
It is a nice setting with a bar/pub atmosphere. We had a quick bite on the beach. They have a good beer selection and for happy hour good small plates menu. We enjoyed it though it was tough to get waited on. We god our food, nachos, but no plates, napkins or silverware. We had to go to the bar to ask for them.
We had a great meal with a table on the beach for unbelievable views of the ocean! Was a great experience.
We got together after yoga on the beach. It was really good and the view was awesome
Awesome spot. Dining literally in the sand. Food was very good and view was great. Definitely going back again. Only blemish was good took over an hour to arrive. But enjoyed a few more drinks to compensate.
Great setting, reasonable prices for Hawaii
Service was just ok.
On the beach where you can put your toes in the sand. Portions are large. Good drink menu. Wrong side of the island for sunset viewing, but great location anyway. Parking can be challenging. Live Hawaiian music was great. We will definitely come back.
We stayed at the hotel Kauai Shores and a $200 food credit came with the package. Most all the servers were great. The food was sub par. Banana pancakes were delicious. But hey we had a food credit, so really can't complain.
We have now been here 3 times on our trip to Kauai and absolutely LOVE it. The first night we did dinner on the beach, toes in the sand, all around amazing experience. We had the sizzling shrimp and pulled pork pizza (sooooo good). The service and atmosphere was amazing. Live music is always a plus! The second night we came back for drinks and the molten lava cake with ice cream! There was a wedding reception going on and never once did I feel like the service was poor due to a large wedding party. The reason we came back were for the drinks and the molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream (we had it on our first night and I couldn’t resist coming back for more). Finally, tonight (Monday) we went to another restaurant for dinner and after wanted to watch the sunset so we stopped by to sit on the beach a bit and watch the sunset. We decided to sit at the bar, order some drinks, and obviously the molten lava cake, service wasn’t the best but the place was packed. We would’ve probably stuck around for another drink if the service wasn’t slow. I would’ve thought service would’ve been slower on the weekend than a Monday, but either way the experience, views, food/drinks were amazing!!!
The day we went it was rainy and most of the open air doors were down and the humidity was high. Temperature was quite warm compared to outside. We arrived at 6:00 and were offered water and drinks promptly. We placed our order about 6:10. We got our appetizers 35 minute later and our meal at 7:15. This is slow even for island time. Our server was absentee. Service was very slow. It wasn’t the kitchen and all the people who came in after us already received and many finished their food before we received ours.
I ordered the pineapple rice bowl with the teriyaki steak and it was delicious. 2 of us ordered the flatbreads and both were over cooked. The ribeye was prepared well.
Overall, I think we got a poor quality server so I hate to leave a bad review. The food was good and the setting would be nice on a sunny day.
