Simply amazing!! On a recent whirlwind tour of Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal/Quebec, I took my teenage daughter and her friend to Laurie Raphael for dinner for a special occasion. Everyone from the manager to the servers to the chef and kitchen staff were friendly, helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. My daughter's friend is a vegetarian, and the chef met with her prior to our dinner to ascertain any dietary restrictions. He created a special menu for her; she loved it! We ate slowly and were not rushed. I had the Canadian wine pairing option, and it was very impressive. The manager took us to meet the chef after our meal. It was nice to see the kitchen and to be able to thank the people who so skillfully and thoughtfully prepared our dinner. Extensive wine list, creative cuisine beautifully presented, local ingredients, delicious freshly pressed juice creations, great service from all aspects, and top notch management. I already referred Laurie Raphael to a foodie friend in Toronto who is visiting Quebec in the fall. When I return to Quebec, I will definitely have dinner here again. My advice to anyone thinking of dining here: Do not miss an opportunity to dine at this restaurant!

2eme visite depuis le nouveau concept et les 2 fois nous avons une problématique majeur air climatisé. Un souper de plus de 3 heures avec une chaleur mal contrôlée est inacceptable pour un restaurant de cette qualité.

A true gourmand's restaurant run by a chef with a gift for extremely creative and delicious cuisine based on regional farms and fresh local seafood. We chose the five-themed tasting menu (in effect, ten small tasting plates) along with the suggested local wine pairings. This was roughly a three-hour experience. Portion size and timing was perfect, so we never felt overwhelmed. Every course was excellent. Service was five-star level, but very friendly. A delightful difference from the heavier and more traditional cuisine that dominates the scene in Quebec.

Service impeccable, bonne nourriture, mais je ne recommande pas la combinaison accord mets et vins. Pour le 5 thèmes (12 services) environ 1/2 bouteille par personne est servi pour la somme de 120$ par personne (240$....!) et les choix n’étaient pas vraiment à notre goût. Nous regrettons (mon conjoint et moi) de ne pas avoir choisi notre bouteille, elle aurait été beaucoup moins dispendieuse et davantage (et de loin) à notre goût. Facture total (tx et pourboire inc) 700$! Ça ne vaut pas ça.

Wonderful dinner. Our first visit to the restaurant and it was a truly impressive experience. The food was incredible - our favorite dish was the scallops but all of the dishes were delicious. Very attentive but not overbearing service in lively, modern surroundings. We will return the next time we are in Quebec City.

All our servers were very attentive to us, making sure that we knew what was in the menu and answering all our questions. It was a lovely evening date with my partner and the servers were extremely accommodating to us. Enjoyed the fine dining experience :)

This is definitely top 3 on my restaurants all time. Very good. We had a 10 course meal (12 actually), great wines, great food, very creative flavors combinations. Who knew rhubarb and celery is great in a ceviche!

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre soirée. Bien mangé, bien bu, agréable compagnie. Accords culinaire - sommellerie très intéressants: belles découvertes. L’accueil, le service au loundge et le service à la table font partir de la plus-value: bravo à l’équipe. Nous rêvons à une prochaine visite... Chaque bouchée avec accord proposé était un délice!

Les plats sont inventifs, raffinés et goûteux, la sélection pour l'accord des vins est superbe, l'ambiance est à la fois sophistiquée et chaleureuse, le service est impeccable, les cocktails sont bons (incluant des options sans alcool). Ce restaurant vient de s'inscrire dans ma liste des dix meilleurs restaurants où j'ai mangé, au Québec, au Canada ou ailleurs -- et je ne comprends pas qu'il ne fasse pas partie de la liste des cent meilleurs restos canadiens.

Expérience absolument extraordinaire!!! TOUT était parfait:
-Service impeccable, professionnel, attentionné et chaleureux. Le personnel a fait de notre 10e anniversaire de mariage une soirée mémorable.
- Magnifique menu dégustation, tant pour les papilles que pour les yeux.
Restaurant dispendieux, mais qui vaut le prix... à faire au moins une fois lorsqu'on veut se gâter.

Nous avons eu une thématique spéciale végétalienne pour ma conjointe et elle était ravie. Les chefs ont pris le temps de créer un menu savoureux et original, ce qui a fait de notre soirée un moment inoubliable. Nous recommandons sans réserve ce restaurant.

Réputation surfaite. Personnel sans envergure. Accord mets vins médiocre ( Sauterne et crème glacée au fromage de chèvre: une expérience en tout point à déconseiller!). Prix exagéré du repas 3 services incluant le pourboire: 580$.

This restaurant was okay. Service was good but at the beginning we felt like we were being sold a time-share (they sit you down, want you to have a drink, then they give you a treat, and after that they come out with leather folders and show you the options) it was way too staged and it didn’t seem authentic, especially after you first walk in the door. Once they’re done selling you each menu and the wine pairings, they give you another treat and they show you to your table.

The service aside from that stated experience was good. The waiters were very attentive and catered to our every need. How ever, it must be noted that the waiter spilled water all over the table when we first sat down. We had to do some drying ourselves. He also dropped the bread when it first came out. It seemed like he was a little nervous or perhaps his over-confidence backfired. Service was also a little aggressive when pushing the chairs to let us sit.

I’m terms of the food, it was okay. We enjoyed 3/7 dishes. Some creations were too far-fetched. The flavours were perhaps masked by some other things (goat cheese ice cream, lamb, and scallops), and in some cases it was way too fatty (as was the case with the duck). Hot crab was good, cold crab was good, sea bass was good.

What we didn’t like was that they changed items in the menu without changing he actual menus, and made it seem like too improvised.

The ambiance was amazing. The restaurant looks super sleek, very clean, modern and elegant. Probably the best part. Except for pre-staging, which again felt like you’re being sold a time-share...

Overall, an okay choice. If you’re going, make sure you ask for a waiter that speaks good English, otherwise you’ll have a hard time understanding what the dishes are about, or the wine, or just general chit-chat. Not the most anglophone staff.
