Laurel Hardware Ratings and Reviews
Corporate dinner booked three open table. 7 people.
Some apps came 10 mins after mains arrived (one main 15mins late) and they made an extra chicken dish....and tried to get us to buy it and share it
We had to sit at the very back lounge...we all ordered the duck fried rice....as there was no table to eat off...we figured we could eat that bowl and fork....on our laps.
Our meal was $640...the service (kitchen timing) was a disaster
We went to Laurel Hardware for Valentine’s Day and had a nice table for two on the patio. Our server was very friendly and attentive, refilling our water glasses and making sure we had everything we needed. We had the Hamachi Crudo off the happy hour menu and it was a very simple dish with clean flavor. A nice way to start the meal. We followed that up with the Duck Fried Rice and the Skirt Steak. When the food runner saw that we were planning to share the food he promptly brought us two more plates. We finished with the Croissant Bread Pudding and it was quite a treat. Valet parking made getting in & out hassle free. A great spot!
Our party of 5 was seated promptly on the patio. Thats where the positives stopped. Server was very nice but completely overwhelmed. The bar service was ridiculously slow, waiting about 15 minutes for our first round. An order of the bottled iced coffee arrived about 50 min into the meal, after repeatedly asking for it. The food was also ridiculously slow arriving and arrived 1 person's meal at a time with a total of 15 minutes between the first and last meal delivery. Once delivered, the sausage sandwich was cold and bread not toasted. The hamburg ordered medium was so raw it was actually just cold ground beef in the middle. Server brought it back to the kitchen and a new one, not much better, arrived 15 minutes later. On a nice Sunday afternoon the managers should have the restaurant more adequately staffed! Including servers, bartender, runners and kitchen staff! We were just discussing today what a waste of $180 it was for us!
We've been here a few times and generally enjoyed it. Today not so much. We ordered a salad that was a little small and on the bland side and an order of avocado toast. Unexpectedly the avocado toast came on something resembling English muffins that were both chewy and very "white bread" tasting. Overall both dishes left something to be desired.
Disappointing experience all the way around. Made reservations asked for patio/garden, even came early to secure a spot but the snooty waitress said non available; despite seeing numerous open tables throughout the night. When we finished eating the same tables were open. If you are looking for a cool night with out-of-town friends I'd pass and go for a quieter spot. Oh also, the smelly decor takes over the food.
Extremely crowded and very loud. Takes long time to get a drink. Drinks are excessively overpriced (I owned three restaurants and know the cost) and the pour is short. Again, I know what two ounces are. They do not use jiggers so it’s not surprising these very young barkeeps pour as they please. Anyway, a high price to pay to be in a trendy crowded bar.
We love this place and come very often as it’s walking distance from our place. Without going into too much detail, our first impression this night was with the hostesses were both extremely rude, unfriendly and snobby. Once we were finally seated, the server was impossible to find and neither were there were any other servers available to help us out. We had Larger party and were spending a lot of money, plus we were there for a special occasion and the entire experience was pretty much ruined. The food was absolutely delicious as usual but unfortunately we now have a bad taste in our mouth’s because of their staff (minus the manager who was nice and helpful). They really need to consider hiring hostesses who know how to be nice and maybe even smile occasionally and servers who actually know how to take care of their guests. We love this place and are very disappointed to have such a bad experience.
Our waitress was very pleasant and professional. But The hostess was rude and unaccommodating to our previously noted request to be seated outside. Our waitress was very pleasant and professional. But The hostess was rude and unaccommodating to our previously noted request to be seated outside.
We sat in the relaxed indoor area past the communal tables. Lighting and music were just right. Service was friendly, but unobtrusive . Brussels, prosciutto and pears, and butternut squash tortellini were the standouts. Steak was good, but not particularly special. We felt at home and fancy at the same time. Highly recommend this local spot for a step up from the typical gastropub.
Service as very poor. We waited a long time for our brunch to be served (approximately 40 min) and the food came out separately. Two members of our party were served approximately 20 minutes before the other three people. They were almost finished eating before the remaining 3 received their food. Food quality was also quite mediocre.
I had a mixed experience here dining at the bar- nice but spacey bartender opened and poured a more expensive bottle without letting us look at the label or taste, then disappeared. The mistake appeared on my bill costing me an extra $25. Food was tasty but definitely indifferent service to those eating more than a snack - definitely take a good look at your bill - not amused to pay for the bartender Jay's mistake!
