The service was impeccable. The scones were wonderful and the sweets were basically quite good. But the sandwiches, while looking pretty, just weren't very good (which was the consensus). I live 2 blocks from the Fairmont and am there fairly often and like it for its relaxed ambiance but our experience was that it was so noisy that we could only hear the person sitting next to us (and there were 8 of us). The idea of having a pianist sounded great but the reality was that it only added to the cacaphony. I have done the tea there before but sadly probably would not do so again. I would recommend the Bar & Restaurant but not the Tea.

Overpriced (approx. $120 per person) and we left hungry. Not enough savory sandwiches. Vegan and nut free options were limited. We have had tea at the Vancouver and Victoria Fairmont hotels and they were amazing. While we had a nice time, it wasn't worth the money

Had a wonderful time with my six year old niece, her girlfriend and my two sisters. Excellent, kind service and very good attention to detail and checking with us throughout. Great egg white omelette, tea, service, the girls loved their chocolate chip pancakes, enjoyed my Bloody Mary. Definitely recommend it!

The hotel and restaurant are iconic and beautiful. Unfortunately high tea is very touristic or very popular: busy like Disney but overwhelmed and understaffed service possibly undertrained to function under this pressure. Adding a 20% service fee is not for our convenience as stated on the menu 🙃. It's to prevent the occurrence of stingy tipping given the service which is slow, under attentive, slightly impatient when solicited and rushed. So a mixed bag. The food is good enough if very overpriced. Bring back the magic please.

It was great but freezing. The food was delicious except for the calamari which was undercooked. We ordered 2 desserts and they brought the wrong ones so we got 4 for the $ of 2. Not sure I’d go back but it was fun and special for a sweet 16 bday!

Quite disappointed of the lunch selections. Nothing exciting if you are celebrating a birthday. The table setting wasn’t impressive for a 5 star hotel. It used to be impressive 4 years ago. For the value of money and experience it doesn’t justify paying for an expensive parking to be disappointed. But the service is okay. They’re are attentive.

This was 2nd seating for New Years even dinner. Could be worse: let me sumarrize: Wine was not served at the table so could not see that was poured. One one glass was bad the second one was worse! Starters were poor. Morrocan meatballs good but cold. Salad un edible (acidity of lettuce and sauce) , shrimp fritters were all batter and maybe some shrimp Main course 35 min after we finished the last starter, qty was poor. Brought all the plates together because kitchen was closed at 10 (when we booked a 9pm seating) We were “pushed” to leave at 11pm without any new years celebrating (no champagne or party hats, etc) what type of New Years dinner is it… a really BAD one! No to mention the 400 + usd price tag.. bead came with a 12 price tag too!!! We re planning to stay at the Fairmont for a week, we changed our mind!

The Fairmont staff manage to cook and present perfectly every item served for the family style New Year's Eve dinner. I was impressed with the perfectly cooked swordfish and grilled Flannery steak, and the variety of vegetables served. The scalloped potatoes were the best I have tasted, with fresh herbs in their sauce and a nicely browned cheesy surface; and I am a highly practiced cook. The Turkish meatballs, probably mixed in a food processor, could have had better texture. The desserts could use a little more distinction. Our Pinot Noir by the glass was well recommended and the Cable Car cocktail delicious.

It was such lovely experience for us to spend the last Friday of the year at Laurel Court Restuarant Bar. Holiday tea party had prefixed menu started with tasty cookies and breads with jam and butter, then completed with 5 small but very rich and tasty bites. Selection of tea was available, and servers were generous to provide bottomless Champaign, cider and hot water for brewed tea. Live piano was played in the background and elfs were there entertaining kids and adults with balloons and sweet conversation. a must to do for Holidays. Beside Holidays, Laurel Court has excellent brunch for the rest of the year which great to celebrate any occasion or simply just life.

We went on Thursday, Dec 29th to enjoy the Christmas decor. The atmosphere was pretty dry in Laurel Court. Christmas music would have been nice. Or any light background music. The food was just ok. My brother and I ordered the prime rib and we both agreed that the sauce that was added to it, ruined the taste of the steak. If you order the prime rib, don't get it with the sauce. The sauce taste canned. It's a shame since it's the most expensive item on the menu. Also, they appear to be short staffed because our waiter wasn't attentive at all. It took forever for him to come check on us or return with items we requested. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. Just not a great one.

We went for breakfast. We were seated quickly ( we had reservation) but the food took almost and hour to arrive and when it did arrive it was lukewarm at best. The chicken sausage was overcooked, omelette over cooked and dry. Toast cold. The entire experience was so disappointing! The Laurel Court USED to have the very best breakfast of all! There were 4 of us and none of the meals were very good at all!

Shocked that we never had a server the entire time. I even notified the manager after 10 mins and after 45 mins. No one ever came to our table - no server, no busboy/girl. Only the manager came after I notified her the first time and then she took our order. Plus, the food runner came by to give us our breakfast after 50 mins of waiting and wondering. I have no problem getting my own water and coffee at a restaurant (even if that's not what I should have to do)...but this was unbelievable for a restaurant that is supposed to have exemplary service - not even close! If you're understaffed, stop seating new tables. Very disappointing restaurant (as well as the stay we had in the expensive suite)!

The location is spectacular! The service was impeccable and the balloon elf of course made the day for my teen and early adult children. Best balloon elf ever straight from the North Pole. The tea was great and the sweets were great. However, the savory portion of the service while it looked impressive was quite a disappointment. The quality was not up to what we have experienced here before. It was as if they were prepared days in advance and left to dry out. Not what we expected for some place as pricey as this.

This was the most expensive buffet we've ever gone to and it was among the worst. The food was mediocre and mostly overcooked and tasteless. The decorations weren't anything special despite this being Christmas. Value for the money was obviously horrible. One bright spot was the good service, with the servers making sure we never ran out of water or champagne. The other bright spot was the nice music provided by live performers.

We paid over $350 for a Christmas buffet for two. We waited in a line outside restaurant for our reservation and was permitted inside 15 minutes after our confirmation time. Our waiter was so busy with other tables that we rarely saw him. The food on the buffet tables were either cold or had empty serving trays for the much desired shrimp and crab legs. My husband and I ended up eating salad with cold bread and tried all the dry bakery treats. Best dessert was the warm churros with sauce. Definitely overpriced and nothing special.
