Laundry Ratings and Reviews
The bottom line is I likely will not return.
Ambiance and decor are very nice and enjoyable.
Our waiter was good.
The carmeniere we had was very good and reasonably priced.
The blue cheese plate was nice with flavorful cheese and good accompaniments .
The $68 meat "large plate" of lamb, flat iron, and ribs was well presented and tasty.
The BAD and the UGLY (hard to separate out - given in chronological order)
The Open Table reservation clearly stated we had 1 hour 45 minutes to clear out.
I am offended that an upscale restaurant would strive to shorten a great experience.
When I called the afternoon of the 4:30 reservation (all that was available) to ask if they had a later spot available, I was told we could arrive later, but would have to be finished that much earlier. Really??
When we arrived at 4:25, the door was locked. Four parties stood on the sidewalk in the cold.
When we all entered, one guy a very long time to seat the parties one by one, while everyone else stood in the very small and slightly cool entry way.
We had planned to order the "Chef's Choice" option advertised on the menu - a nice set meal. Were really looking forward to it. Our waiter told us that was unavailable, and had not been available for months.
We ordered the $68 meat platter to share, since the waiter told us it had 2 lb of meat. We were brought small bread plates to individually use, which was not all that bad since it seemed that the board held way less than the stated 2 lb. In any case, it seems the proper thing to do when someone orders a "large plate" is to give them a LARGE plate, so it at least seems like they are eating a main course. Ordered it rare, but it came out more like medium rare. Nevertheless, it was very tasty and a great dish, but didn't match the expectations.
My dining buddy sent his little plate back when he got it because it was dirty.
The room is noisy, which largely helped drown out the music which at times had a thumping quality to it.
First time to visit Steamboat Springs for a week of skiing. I made reservations for Laundry before we arrived after reading all of the wonderful reviews. We were not disappointed. Our waiter was very helpful in guiding us through the menu. The kale salad was the best salad I have ever eaten. One bit of advice, don’t get too full before trying the meatloaf. It is amazing!! We will definitely be back.
Cozy atmosphere where people range from dressed for a date night to straight from the mountain in gear. Small plates for the win. Pow Pow shrimp always comes through :: dynamite. Kale salad, roasted beets & superb drinks - unique wine list - are always a staple at our table. Plenty of options for meat eaters too. You will want to make a reservation in advance or show up to the bar early. This place is always bustling & sure to make everyone happy.
Had a nice supper here after a day of skiing. Gin gimlets good. But our Chardonnay by the glass was too sweet. We ordered an arugula salad that was delicious; also a wild rice salad was very nice. Mac and cheese with shrimp was tasty but not many shrimp. Ordered a tuna entree. Wished it had been hot and with less pepper. Nice atmosphere and easy parking downtown. We enjoyed it.
Great place! Were seated right on time. Waiter was very professional and helpful. We received our small plates (we ordered 6 for 4 of us) one at a time which was great - like a tasting menu. Had dessert and port - every dish was outstanding - loved the mac and cheese and the special ravioli.
Visiting Steamboat from Philadelphia and Laundry hit all the marks! Food was presented well and tasted even better. Cocktails were inventive and delightful! Service was excellent and attentive. I would return to Laundry again in a heartbeat, I will be dreaming about the Pimento Cheese dish!
This is already known as a "gem" in Steamboat Springs. But its reputation is well-deserved. Attentive, friendly staff, and with our reservation for six, we were seated in a "dining alcove" in the back, so we could enjoy conversation. We had a really good time, with a flexible, intriguing menu and serving style.
One of the best meals in Steamboat. Great small plates, easy to share. We also shared one large plate. We had a few of the creative and vintage cocktails. They were excellent! Service was very good, paced to spread out the tapas so you had something new arriving every five minutes or so.
We arrived and were promptly seated. Offered to take coats. Our waiter was charming & helpful. Children’s menu not written but offered to tell us. The small plates arrived in stages so we didn’t feel rushed or like something would get cold. Foods were a little spicy, flavors strong. Portions were medium sized... enough for 2 to share if you ordered 3-4 small plates. We didn’t try dessert. Great experience overall!
We had a great time at Laundry. The bar and wait staff are the best. Conversant, fun and ready to engage everyone. Cocktails were perfectly prepared and quick despite the two deep crowd at the bar. Seating in the restaurant was perfect for our party of four, every dish we ordered was well prepared, service was spot on and the ambiance is exactly what you want for a relaxed and fun night out on the slopes. We'll be back next year!
Another great meal at Laundry! We had a reservation and were able to be seated a bit early! Our table enjoyed the kale salad, Brussels sprouts hash, smoked cheddar, Carpaccio, and especially the pow pow shrimp. Good food and drink, great service, we'll be back next year!
Enjoyed everything! We spent one night in Steamboat recently and decided on Laundry. We really liked the atmosphere and building, our waiter was super knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was delicious. Small plates to share plus good dinner sized choices. We left wanting to go back and try more interesting choices. Great overall experience. Thank you!
The service, food, and drinks were all amazing! Our drinks and food all came out in a timely manner and was so delicious! Everything we ordered was exceptional keeping us wanting more. We loved the variety of the drink and food menu and the knowledge of our waiter. The only suggestion I have is about the happy hour special. I would like to see the restaurant offer happy hour in the dining room because we didn't realize that it was only offered in bar. We had an early reservation at 5 pm in the dining room and if we would have known they only offered happy hour in the bar we would have arrived earlier for a drink before dinner.
Otherwise, the food and service was incredible! We were really impressed with the attentiveness of all the staff not just our waiter. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Steamboat. Thanks for the awesome experience!
