L'Auberge never ceases to amaze. It's been a few years since our last visit but the experience is as fresh and welcoming as our first time. Delicious options, presentation and service are top notch and I dare say there's value for money. A wonderful, memorable experience.

Very attentive service, although the staggering of the various drink and dinner menus and resistance to providing an a la carte menu slowed down the meal substantially. We also noticed an unusual number of flies in the dining room on our evening. Most dishes were excellent, especially desserts.

L’Auberge was every bit as wonderful as most of our favorite restaurants in France. Don’t overlook the delicious Alsatian wines. We enjoyed the baked mussels, beef cheeks appetizer and seafood 🦞 main courses. The soufflés were outstanding.

Extremely well paced meal — around 2 hours for four course meal. The beets, French dressing salad, broiled halibut and chocolate tart dessert constitute the best meal possible. Manhattan, half bottle of Pinot, and two glasses of premium white added immense enjoyment service was flawless.

The mushroom version of the beef bourguignon was a major hit...would have preferred a wider selection of fungi, but overall a dish well-worth doing again. The Trout entree was, again, terrific -- and whoever prepares the vegetables right to the precise point teetering on over/under cooked is a true kitchen genius. Appetizers were as always reliable, the house salad with the in-house Vinaigrette continues to highlight the taste/value, the escargot thrilled my wife (and the aroma made me regret my not ordering the same). Service was impeccable, especially from our principal server, who allowed us to practice our semi-rudimentary French with good humor, while sharing anecdotes of "real French". Overall, a destination worth our 45 minute drive. Oh, and the desserts rival the best in the region

Lunch in the pavilion was everything we have come to expect. I had the beet tartare appetizer for the first time, the halibut special for my main and the special lime tart with lime sorbet for dessert, all of which were delicious. As usual, the meal was well paced and unhurried, and we were allowed to linger with our friends well past what most restaurants would allow.

This is by far the best place to eat in the DC metro area, not counting the Inn at Little Washington, which is borderline stupid expensive. I’ve been going here for better than 30 years, maybe close to 40, and have never had a meal I wasn’t bragging about to my friends, and for what you are getting I think it’s fairly priced, the food is exquisite and everting about it is absolutely “First Cabin”, the service, the environment, the feel is just awesome. I would recommend Chez Francois to anyone looking for a killer experience.

We have been dining at L'Auberge for many years now. It has always been our favorite restaurant because the staff is always friendly and helpful. This time, however, was a bit different. Our waiter shared the 'secret' ingredients for the fabulous cottage cheese recipe for the garlic bread. We also were able to acquire the chef's cookbook that will allow us to at least attempt to cook some dishes that are similar to what we experienced at the restaurant. L'Auberge has always been one of our go to restaurants when our family is together and the food has always been amazing.
