    L'Auberge is always outstanding in every respect, all the more for a special occasion. We were a party of six and enjoyed a leisurely Sunday afternoon dinner. Excellent service, great suggestions from the sommelier, lovely food including vegetables right out of the restaurant garden.

    We don’t get to come here as much as we would like, as we live about 3 hours away. We made a reservation for a rainy, cold day which coincided with a football game and travel was nasty. We were 20 minutes late and they were very accommodating! As usual, the ambience, service and food was impeccable. Cocktails and wine were perfect and the soufflé (Grand Marnier) was beyond exquisite. We had a beautiful window view of the garden, which was fitting as all of the vegetables came directly from their onsite gardens. Totally worth the drive!!!

    This is a beautiful gem hidden away in one of the more gorgeous rides in Virginia. Tucked away by Great Falls you'll find wonderful and incredibly professional service with food worth every cent. If you're unsure of what to order or how to eat it, the wait staff will courteously help you. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday and anniversary and we will certainly be coming back again.

    We’ve been going to Chez on and off for years. The food last night was dreadful. It sat under a heat lamp for a long time and you could tell that the vegetables and meat cooked under the lamp! Not like the quality we’ve experienced with this iconic restaurant. We’ll try again…

    The variety of selections for all the courses is amazing. They easily outdo all other restaurants in the area in terms of selection, variety and price -- you get a complete 4 course lunch for a better price than other restaurants charge for an appetizer and entree.

    If you want the true ultimate dining experience, this is it. The food, service, and atmosphere leave nothing to be desired. All are impeccable. I have eaten all over the world and this is the best dining experience I have ever had. We will be back every year for our anniversary.

    Our 57th Anniversary was remarkable ! We appreciated every thing they have done to make sure we were happy and satisfied .. the desert was served on the trace as I requested with a special table located in the price outdoor gazebo ! Thanks to every one who made our special day very enjoyable

    We tried the garden terrace this time. It was lovely and weather was perfect. Quiet enough to have good conversation and not busy at all during a late lunch. Service was especially attentive. Food was delicious, though we typically prefer less fat and salt.

    I've been eating at Chez Francois since it was located in Conn Ave N.W. DC -just a stone throw from Farragut Square in the early 70s and I must say that it never disappoints, either on food or ambiance. The added attractive element now is getting there from D.C. It's quite an scenic route as I always drive there by taking the old way by using Georgetown Pike. See you again, soon!

    My spouse and I went for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have asked for a more appropriate experience, at a classic French restaurant with an Alsatian theme. Nestled in a wooded area with ample patio seating, we were treated to an exclusive gazebo table where we could enjoy an intimate dinner away from the main seating area. The service was top notch- our waiter was incredibly attentive and very knowledgable about the menu options, providing excellent recommendations along the way while also addressing our dietary considerations. The sommeliers were equally attentive and knowledgable, providing quality wine choices. The meal was a three course prix fixe. We both a delicious mushroom and truffle sauce crepe that was very tender and refined, followed by refreshing mixed green salad (other options are available for an additional fee). The mains were very well prepared. The Saute Papa Ernest included an incredibly tender beef medallion, a perfectly cooked lamb chop, and delicious lobster tail with a vegetable medly. Our other entree, main lobster with lump crab was equally refined and carefully prepared. Our deserts- a classic creme brulee and a dark chocolate tart- were a great finish. As an added bonus we were treated to Grand Marnier-infused chocolate truffles, as well as a surprise meringue infused with milk chocolate mousse for our anniversary. Overall a fantastic experience and highly recommended.

    Always a delicious and delightful experience dining at L’Auberge. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary. Lovely from start to finish. I had the lobster bisque, my husband (as usual) escargot to start, both excellent, then we had the seasonal tomato salad which was delicious. We splurged on the Chateaubriand (shared for 2 people). It was perfectly cooked to our requested rare, with delicious vegetable accompaniment. Sometime we may get a different dessert, but we enjoy the soufflés so much, we always order. This time we went with the Grand Marnier soufflé, which was light and delicious with plenty of orange flavor, and the perfect ending to a wonderful dining experience. L’Auberge is a beloved classic, and our favorite spot for special occasions. In fact, we live out of state, but always try to eat at L’Auberge chez Francois when we are in the area.

    We always love coming here for a romantic lunch, nowadays outside when weather permits. The starters were exceptional: the salmon trio, the mushroom duxelles crepe, the tomato salad components fresh from the garden, and the lovely lentil soup amuse bouche, accompanied by the delicious bread and toast assortment. The beef Bourgogne was marvelous as usual, but we asked to take most of the generous serving home, to save room for the dessert soufflé we preordered. The seafood in the bouillabaisse was delectable, although the broth was not seasoned to our liking. The soufflés and their sauces are quite special. Overall, another pleasant lunch date. Always worth the trip!

    We have been patronizing your restaurant periodically since you were located in downtown DC. Over the years we have never wavered from our belief that you are one of the top 5 restaurants in the DC area and our personal favorite. Now that Covid is pretty much behind us we hope to visit with you at least quarterly in the future (if we didn't have to commute from Columbia, MD we'd come more often :-)).     Another delightful lunch at Auberge. Our table had the trout, beef medallions, and the veal entrees. All were perfectly executed with an array of vegetable garnishes. Desserts were chocolate souffle, maple tulip witch ice cream, chocolate tart and the soft meringue. Such an elegant and delicious finish. First class all the way around.

    There are many reasons we choose to celebrate our special occasions, like our 34th anniversary, at L'Auberge Chez Francois -- exquisite beauty and serenity of the location, especially dining outdoors, the incredible food and wine, and the extraordinary attention to detail. But it is the warm, welcoming and attentive service, and the relaxed and leisurely dining experience, that make it so special. Visiting the garden where the herbs and vegetables that went into our gazpacho are grown and being able to see the stars in the night sky away from bright city lights, all make for a perfect evening!     We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here. This is such a special place. Loved sitting outdoors with beautiful views of the garden. The food was absolutely wonderful. Service impeccable. The sommelier did a wonderful job listening to what we liked and paired lovely wines with our dinner. From beginning to end, it was a wonderful experience. Made our special occasion even more special.

    L’Auberge Chez Francois is my favorite restaurant for good reason. The tomato gazpacho and tomato salad were impeccably fresh, right from the garden outside the window. The soft shelled crab special was one of the best seafood creations I have ever had, and the plum tart with cinnamon ice cream is the dessert I have most coveted in the decades I have eaten here. Service was, as always, attentive and unobtrusive. This is basically a perfect place to have any meal— brunch, luncheon, or dinner.

    It was perfection, as usual! Great service and everything was delicious. While the food is phenomenal, so is the service (every time). We are never disappointed pointed when we go to L’Auberge. The first time I went to L’Auberge was in the late 1980’s for Senior Prom! L’Auberge makes it really hard to go to another restaurant, as they have set a high bar and in my opinion no other place compares. This time we were there for lunch and I ordered the: Braised Wagyu beef cheeks for the appetizer and Beef Tenderloin for the entree, then the Tulip Shell for dessert. I loved it all, the Tulip Shell (variety of Raspberry Sorbet, Vanilla and Chocolate Ice cream) is fantastic. I know you’re thinking it’s just sorbet and ice cream, but it’s so much more, the flavors are amazing and it comes in an edible tulip shell (made from maple?). If you’ve never been, I encourage you to try it. So thankful we live close enough to be able to dine there frequently. A big thank you to the chefs and staff at L’Auberge!

    One of the best French restaurant I have been to in the US, and by far the best in price/quality ratio. Food was amazing, service outstanding. They accommodated our two 3 years old as best as they could. We had a great time as a family.
