Another fabulous meal at L'Auberge Chez Francois. Food was amazing, ambiance delightful, not too noisy to speak with our friends. A "grand slam", as always. Love this place.
We love Chez Francois SO much. It is a very special treat for us and we look so forward to it. Thanks Jacques for an outstanding meal and amazing ambiance. We will be back many times!
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. Food was OK. It was not as good as I had hoped. Service was not as good this year, and was a little disappointing.
French Country - or any 'country' is not for the small appetite. Hearty food, well prepared and really good ingredients. Kudos to Jacques.
Excellent food and ambiance! The service was a bit choppy.
Superb food and service with knowledgeable waiter
A wonderful dinner for a group of us. Food and service was outstanding. Our waiter, David, made the evening extra special.
Excellent as always!
A wonderful experience for special occasions. All aspects of the experience are authentic French. We've spent several wedding anniversaries in France and this is the next best thing (and much closer to home!).
Excellent service. Would prefer an "a la carte" menu.
OMG! Absolutely Amazing meal and experience! Great place to go for all your dining needs!
Consistently excellent food, we have been to L'Auberge many times over the past 30 years and have never been disappointed.
just fabulous with great food and service; the timing of the meal was just perfect
I was disappointed this time. Went for lunch with a group of friends. I like salt, but my split pea amuse bouche, lobster bisque and veal scallopine was too salty, even for me! The veal was also overcooked. It was very busy that day, so maybe that is the explanation. But I expect more from a restaurant of this caliber.
I have been dining at L'Auberge Chez Francois for 20+ years and continue to love it. It had been a while since my friends and I had been there and we were not disappointed. I have to admit that the Roquefort-apple appetizer tart was not as delicious as I remember but I have no complaints. The seafood medley entree was perfectly prepared and the chocolate souffle divine.
Everything was great except we were seated near a couple of large groups, so the noise level was high until they left.
AMAZING! Great service and food!!!
The Food and service were excellent. Did they really have to charge extra for the expresso? The price was a little bit high all said and done. Also, I wish some of the customers were a little more dressed up for a Saturday evening dinner ( jackets for men please and no tennis shoes). Still, a great experience. I was not dissapointed.
I enjoyed a wonderful early dinner at Auberge Chez Francois on Saturday evening with my son and his fiancee. We were seated promptly at a very nice table, next to a window. The tables are well spaced so that the conversations of other diners are not overheard. Our service was excellent, and we never felt rushed.
We all enjoyed our selections of French onion soup, escargots and coquilles for starters, and Beef Wellington, veal scallopine and lamb chops for our entrees. Desserts of cheesecake, creme brulee and Buche de Noel were also yummy. I highly recommend Auberge Chez Francois for an elegant dining experience.
This review is based on my friends that dined there. I unfortunately was sick and unable to attend. However, they said that they had an outstanding time and I missed a wonderful meal. Once I'm better, we'll be making another reservation in the near future and I can't wait.
We were two of us, celebrating a special evening. The service from the time we entered to the time we left was excellent, very attentive , but reserved.
The amuse bouche, a soup, was excellent, very flavor-full and texture of the ingredients were noticeable.
After that, I was not that happy with the food that came. The beef cheeks appetizer was served piping hot, so I could not taste anything when I tried it, I had to wait a few minutes till it cooled down enough, after that it was ok. My partner liked the escargot. The second course, the included salad (the only one without an additional charge in the prix -fixe menu) was not very good at all. If only one salad is offered at no-extra charge and the guest has to choose one of the salads, the kitchen must make some effort to make this one worthwhile. Why should the guest pay an extra $7 for a potentially better salad?
My entree was Lobster thermodor - over poached and rubbery. Partner had the rack of lamb - which she liked.
My dessert was the grandma's bread pudding which was excellent. The other was the almond cake - not so.
We have previously dined at the Bistro downstairs and the food and service were good, so not sure about why the upstairs was so underwhelming. Perhaps it was my expectation of being blown-away and perhaps how typically excellent food is in Paris and expecting the same here, but overall it was not so.
We were there to celebrate a very special birthday and loved our dinner. Great service, wonderful food, and terrific ambiance.
The waiter was great and attentive without being intrusive. The only problem was that he had a thick accent and we had a hard time understanding him and had to ask him to repeat what he was saying several times. The food was excellent as always.
Always a great evening and remarkable service and food
The food was as incredible as ever. The ambiance is wonderful. There were a few little slip ups with the service, they forgot a few things we ordered.
We had a great lunch and enjoyed to ambiance very much. We have not found any restaurant that we enjoy more.
We had a delicious, wonderful, and very French dinner on our 46th wedding anniversary. Always like to come for a romantic dinner with attentive service.
Always a wonderful place!
We visit L'Auberge at Christmastime every year to enjoy the decorations and the superb atmosphere of this wonderful restaurant. They never fail to provide outstanding food and service that sets thevtone for the holiday season.
L'Auberge Chez Francois never disappoints. My husband and I eat there 4-5 a year and it is consistently excellent. Great range of menu choices (don't miss the soufflés for dessert) and the service is top notch - they always make the diners feel special.
My favorite restaurant, love to have special occasions here, and always give a gift certificate to any fundraiser my organizations are having. It’s always a best seller.
L'Auberge Chez Francois is always my "go to" place for fine dine with my husband and/or friends. The staff always makes me feel so very special! Thank you for making my sister's special birthday that more special, too. It was her first time dining with you and she enjoyed every moment and every morsel!
Have been going to Chez Francois since they had the restaurant on Connecticut Ave.
I was late, they were gracious.
The escargot seemed "old"
The duck breast was undercooked -- on the light side of Medium rare; I had asked for medium.
I will go back, and I continue to recommend to rich friends.
Very happy with quality, ambiance and taste. Mohammad our server is excellent and friendly
Always a great evening at L’Auberge
It was great!! Food was amazing and ate all of it!! Great experience!!!!
We have been going to L'Auberge for special meals intermittently these last forty years. The experience was wonderful, as always. The holiday lights were up and reflected in the windows throughout, lending a festive atmosphere. We were dining with another couple, which allowed us to taste a wide variety of dishes. The rack of lamb and lobster are worth special mention. There are many courses, you need to be very hungry upon arrival, and there is no a la carte option. If you are not in for a splurge in the amount of food and price, try the Brasserie. Merci Beaucoup!
For decades now they provided among the best meals you're fine anywhere in the world. Each dish with perfectly prepared. The service was impeccable. Just an amazing great experience
