The restaurant has great ambiance and is very quiet. The food was fantastic, but the menu was limited to only a handful of entrees. The service was great, they were very attentive and made sure our stay was good. The service ensured ur drinks were topped off, and we were never for want.
This establishment lacks management. Our server did not have the proper training to help us in the right way, nor were they supported enough to provide prompt service. Drinks were ordered that were never brought, non-alcoholic drinks were never refilled, food was delivered and not explained (the cheeses on the cheese plate). My salmon tasted microwaved, it was served skin side down which made the skin soggy when I am sure it was intended to be crispy and edible. The place was not very busy but they were clearly understaffed. Tables around us were getting up and leaving with out paying because everything was taking so long. The "manager" scolded our server in front of us and told him "he needed him somewhere else" when we needed him at that moment. Our checks were split wrong and there were extra drinks on our ticket. I have to write down what was on each of our checks and hand them back to the manager. He did not offer to comp anything for us. I also witnessed the manager eat something with his hands and then brush his hands off instead of washing them. I was appalled at the lack of leadership and mishandling of the New Year's Eve dinner service. They would be better off just closing than letting tables walk out with out paying.
SERVICE WAS EXTERMELY POOR. 20 MIN WAIT FOR DRINK ORDER, 30MIN WAIT TO ORDER APPETIZER, THEN ANOTHER 45MIN WAIT TO ORDER ENTREE, WHICH ARRIVED COLD. DINNER DRINKS NEVER ARRIVED, BUT SHOWED UP ON THE BILL...2.5HRS TOTAL AND MORE THAN HALF THE TABLES WERE EMPTY....HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE, AND WE WEREN'T THE ONLY PATRONS COMPLAINING
This was literally one of the worst dining experience I have ever had. I felt I was in the twilight zone. It was empty on a Saturday night, certainly not a great starting point. I had a napkin lint in my water class, our salmon dish was ridiculously overcooked, our server was very average, the pizzas had way too much cheese on them, we were charged two different prices for the same drink, Waitress forgot one of our side dish orders claiming she "forgot".
We were treated well by all of the staff and enjoyed good food and drinks. While the food could have been a tad bit warmer, all five of us had something different, which says a lot of good about the menu and the variety offered. (Do be prepared, however, for the actual menu to possibly not offer exactly all the same items as shown online.) And the prices are very reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the food. Will definitely return!
We wanted to have dinner close to the Ohio Theater before going to the Nutcracker, and Latitude 41 was perfect for this occasion. All 6 of us said the food was excellent, and I enjoyed how the sea scallops were prepared with spinach salad and vegetables. It is inside the Renaissance Hotel. The decor is very comfortable, although not trendy. The service was friendly and relatively quick for the quality of the food.
I was disappointed by my experience with the present Latitude. Several years ago on two occasions I was impressed with the quality of the food. I expected to experience that when I went there recently but was terribly disappointed. There was only 2 tables the evening we were there and yet the service was awfully slow.Besides the long wait for our food, the taste of the food was blah!I will not mind the wait if the food was good.We chose it in the first place because of the write up in the Columbus monthly mag. I can tell right away that they have a different chef. I do not think I will ever go back there again ,what with so many restaurant choices in town.
Doors were locked around the perimeter, and we had to enter through the hotel's valet entrance; none of which was posted.
The server wasn't unfriendly, but also did not make any attempt at connecting with us. I cannot place much blame on him, however, as he was only 1 of 2 servers working a crowded dining room. The service was very slow because of that. We waited upward of 10 minutes for soup! When the entrees came out, my partner's pasta was piping hot, and had a crust over it, due to the time it spent waiting under a heat lamp. My salad had a piece of chicken on it that I could tell had been warm at one point, but by the time it made it to the table, was little more than room temperature. We opted to skip dessert at that point. Will definitely not return.
My husband’s birthday mid November 2017. In town for a show and stayed at the hotel adjoining which we loved. We had reservations. Hoped to pamper him on his special day with a fantastic meal but it fell short of our expectations. The restaurant was fairly empty except for a large party behind us in a secluded area that kept the noise down. Food was mediocre for the price. The steak was very small. Service was slow. The cheese and bread appetizer was fabulous though. The staff was friendly but maybe short staffed at the time which is why it seemed to take forever to get noticed let alone served. While it was clean, well decorated and had a nice ambiance, we weren’t impressed overall so it’s not a destination place for us.
We were seated promptly, and the staff we interacted with were all friendly. My main problem was that on a menu with only seven main dishes they were out of one of them (and didn’t tell us upfront), and the one that we did end up getting wasn’t as described in the menu (overdone broccolini instead of grilled brussels sprouts). Have to say that there are far superior options within walking distance, so we won’t be back.
The server, Carl, was excellent. He was very tuned in to our wants and needs as well as being very congenial. The brussel sprouts were served as an appetizer. They were excellent and like none we have e er had. The scallops were seared and very tasty as was the skirt steak. We will certainly return.
Chef Meacham. I came home to Columbus for a visit and decided to check out his new place. From the first to last bite, I was very pleased. Brought a guest and she was amazed. It was the perfect welcome home.
I'm writing this review 30+ days from visiting and I can still remember the flavor profiles. My only regret: not ordering the tasting menu.
We went here for a lunch. We ordered a three course meal. The first two courses were much better than the entrees. The cheese plate was nice, but there was no explanation of what kinds of cheeses they were offering that day. However, we waited up to 20 minutes just for the cheese plate. The potato leek soup was the best part, for both of us. The service was lacking. They brought me the wrong soup the first time and we had to wait for the replacement. By the time my soup had returned, my partnered finished her beet salad, which she enjoyed. However, the entrees were subpar. The chicken was boring and the salmon lacked seasoning. The chicken had no sauce. The meat was moist but flavorless. We were both left underwhelmed and a little upset at the price we paid. Not worth the drive, the wait, or the price. We may go back, but only for soup and salad. Not a dinner destination at all.
My partner and I celebrate our anniversary on July 4, which makes it difficult to find an open restaurant. Latitude 41 was open so we decided to give it a try. Being a holiday, there were only a few customers in the restaurant. The host greeted us warmly and enthusiastically. Our waitress (Dominque) was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. They even gave us a complimentary glass of Prosecco and desert sampler, since it was our anniversary—totally unexpected! The food was delicious, and artfully presented, with a variety of healthy options. We split a wonderful beet salad and two entries. The kitchen staff even divided them onto separate plates for us. Try the roasted Brussel sprouts! We enjoyed a positive, memorable experience at Latitude 41, and will gladly return.
I chose this restaurant after looking at the menu online, and the pictures online. It lived up to none of that. The menu online was not offered at all. The buffet they had to eat from consisted of stale bagels and oatmeal you could have used as concrete. The only thing good was my Pepsi. I was extremely disappointed in every aspect of the experience.
Latitude 41 was recommended by friends so we visited the restaurant for the first time with two friends, like us, who had never been at the restaurant. No one was there at the time so the restaurant was not busy. Our food was delicious but our friends had ordered their meat medium rare and it was well done. So we told our server who said he'd bring another one out which was well and good but it took another 20 minutes before the medium rare meat came out. And initially our server never came to see if our meat was done the way we want it. We were extremely disappointed in our first visit.
We had a party of 4 for dinner. I had the scallops which were cooked perfectly but curiously salty. Some were really good and others were so salty I wanted to wash them off in my glass of water. Another diner had the roast chicken. It was so dry she started gagging at one point. The potatoes etc that were served with the chicken were great. The chicken, though, was obviously way over cooked. The waiter and manager? were very nice about giving us a free dessert, but I think they should've taken it off our tab. We'll try the place again and see if the food gets any better. We loved our server.
I didn't know this was a hotel restaurant. It was a step above the open dining areas in hotels with free breakfasts, but that is about it. The Scallops were good, but the Mushroom Risotto was watery and below average. The Charcuterie Board was below average with a couple meats and cheeses, but no spreads, jams, mustangs, or pickled accoutrements. Roasted brussels sprouts were above average. Cocktails were bland, obviously made with syrups. The waitress was attentive and got out orders in before a large walk-in party, but that was the highlight of the experience. Almost any pub/bar in the area would have been better.
We were told by the hostess that they were busy when she seated us. It was 25 minutes before someone came to our table after we were seated. I was getting ready to leave when someone finally came. Once the server finally arrived the service was attentive and the food was great. I would give this place another shot.
Really disappointed with the service. We had reservations at 745. We were greeted promptly and given water. My wife ordered a drink, and I took a few minutes to decide what I wanted to drink from the bar. I waited over 30 minutes for my drink to be made. It was over 45 minutes before we received our appetizer (charcuterie plate- doesn't require much cooking/prep does it?) which was delicious. Our entrees were pretty good but nothing amazing for the wait. It seemed like our waiter was also bartending which might have been the problem? Either way, we won't be returning- pretty disappointed at the service for the price.
