Let me tell you about the worst Valentines experience I’ve ever had. My fiancé and I have eaten at the restaurant on Cooper River and for the most part, have enjoyed it. We were hoping for the same food/experience at this restaurant as well. Once we were seated, we waited about 20 minutes for a “waitress” (who happened to be the hostess) come over and ask for our drinks. We also just learned that they were only running the Valentine’s Day special. That being said we picked out our food and placed our orders. We waited then about 30-45 for our salads to come out. Salad was ok, didn’t really taste like there was an Cesar dressing on it, but we were starving so we ate most of it. After that, we waited another 30-45 minutes for the appetizer to come out. We ordered sausage and peppers and risotto balls. They brought out the risotto balls, but also put down cheesesteak egg rolls. We let the staff know we did not order those and wanted the sausage and peppers. We waited another 30 minutes and our entree was brought out. In that time one of the staff members notified us that our “waitress” had walked out and left. She told us there was only 1 person cooking and that the owner did not prepare for this evening accordingly. After our entree came out, we ate most of it, the salmon was actually pretty good. But the potatoes were dry as hell, I pushed them to the side. My fiancé got the chicken san remo, which she enjoyed for the most part. Then we waited for dessert, for another 30 minutes and mind you, we did not get our sausage and pepper appetizer yet. In this time we saw the “manager” give a family their meal for free because they had been there for 2.5 hours and didn’t get entrees. My fiancé was frustrated and walked to the front and asked for the check because we did not feel like waiting any longer. We thanked a few of the staff members who had clearly “jumped in” and tried to help out. We will never go back to this location EVER again. Very disappointing.
I waited 2 hours for my entree. Our waitress quit in the middle of the shift. The chef was verbally abusive towards staff which we witnessed because the kitchen is in the front of the restaurant in clear view. Staff was arguing with the chef due to his attitude. Our food was room temperature when we received it. One of the worse experiences I ever had!
Food was adequate at best. Restaurant was dirty.
Great food and friendly service
The worst service I’ve ever experienced. Food was decent but the customer service left a bad taste in my mouth for this place.
Addicted to the calamari and seafood fussili with extra sauce ..... soooooo good!
I hate having to give a negative review, but we were both very disappointed at Pronto. While the mussels in red sauce were good, the bread was terrible and there were no spoons provided. The pizza also was tasty, but wasn't baked long enough.
The service bordered on terrible. The server was a young girl who either was disinterested or didn't understand many of the basics of service. Quite possibly, she wasn't fully or properly trained. Most of the time, she did what we asked, or what she thought we asked - when we could find her. She continuously left dirty dishes that we had moved to the edge of the table, so they could be removed, because they were crowing the table and making eating difficult. We also asked how long it would take to bake the pizza and not to put in the order until we were served our mussels - so that we would have time to finish the mussels. That didn't happen - I was still eating when the pizza was served AND she tried to remove the mussels bowl in front of me before I was finished. Oh yeah, while the mussels were tasty, there were about 6 or 7 that had not opened (so not safe to eat) and another four or five with big pieces of shell cracked off and served in the bowl, instead of making sure they were removed. Essentially the service was mediocre and the attention to both detail and requests was substandard. In contrast, LaScala's Birra, in Pennsauken, NJ was very good both times we were there.
Also, we had a 7:00 PM Saturday night reservation at Pronto, but found it to be unnecessary. There were plenty of tables available. If you go to the Pennsauken location, as I would recommend, reservations are generally a must.
My favorite Italian little gem! This time I had the Seafood Fusilli.....shrimp, scallops and crabmeat ...delicious! Waitress was very nice and attentive. Even the cook came by to check on us. My friend had seafood ravioli and loved it. Can't wait to go back! They never disappoint.
The service was very slow and the food was not as good as the other locations. Very disappointed
Very consistent food quality and fine detail to presentation. This said, I’ve dined here numerous times on weekdays, for business [dinners], where there are a literally a handful of patrons, and have never “tested” them on the weekend. I would assume it’s similar or the same as it looks like they are well managed and run a tight ship.
My youngest son owns a very prosperous restaurant and 2 gourmet food trucks. This association gives me a much higher level of appreciation and respect for the restaurant business and the hard work, dedication and devotion required in their efforts to maintain order and long term success.
LaScala seems to exemplify this policy.
Food would have been good but the salt on the food was almost unbearable! Don’t know if they made a mistake on our dishes or if lots of salt is typical.
We never were seated. They didn't look for our reservation and we asked and said we had the confirm email. Nothing waitress was like well I'm new, we asked to speak to someone else. Still nothing, we left. Thanks for the great mother's day dinner...
Our eggplant parmesan sandwiches and cheese fries were very good! Service was also very good. Alex was an excellent waiter! Very friendly and attentive. Even our greeter which was a young black gentleman was very friendly as he welcomed us and acknowledged us as we left. I love this little place. Always a hit for me.
The ambiance left a lot to be desired. The food was ok, but our server/host was a bit “out to lunch.” He brought us a pitcher of water, but I had to ask twice for glasses. Also, I used OpenTable to do the reservation, and he never checked me in. He didn’t even ask what name the reservation was under. I had to later on in the meal ask him to check us in, so I could get my points.
This felt very much like a place for a quick, work lunch—not a fine dining establishment for dinner. I was under-whelmed, especially w the service.
Delicious food and outstanding servers!
Food was delicious. I had the veal involtini which was perfectly cooked and extremely tasty
Food was poor. Gnocchis sauce was basically just pizza sauce. Poor execution on other entrees as well.
Yes definitely would return to LaScala’s Pronto. My husband loved his Frutti de Mare , saya the sauce was additive and perfectly spiced . I had the shrimp and scallops, it would have been perfect if the shrimp and scallops were grilled vs. sautéed . I was envisioning a grilled diah but I’ve mis-read the description; still it’s good dish.
We love this restaurant. However, if you want a nice quiet meal, go elsewhere. It is incredibly loud and noisy. Also, we made reservations on Open Table for a Saturday evening and when we got there they told us that they didn't honor reservations on Open Table during the weekend, which was really strange. So we had to put our name in and wait for a table.
Delicious dinner with family on New year's Eve.
The food was delicious and they give you such large portions! We loved it!
Overall the meal was very good. Appetizers were delicious
We LOVE this place! The 4 course meal selection is a phenomenal deal! You get full size portions of all 4 courses for such an amazing price! The food is delicious and the staff is super attentive!
Great good, attentive staff. Will definitely be back!
Dined with a party of 6. Food was very good and we had great service.
Outstanding service and delicious food!
Was passing through town on our way home and decide pick a place to have dinner. I am so glad we decided to dine here. Food was soooo good! Alex our waiter was awesome. His knowledge with the menu was amazing. He was attentive and didn't rush the meals. Even though we live an hour away, we would definitely come back! Thank you for an amazing meal!
The food at Pronto is delicious and the attention to detail by the servers is outstanding!
We went here for a get together with family. The service was wonderful and we were not rushed along. We got the four course meals and thought they were an exceptional bargain. The food was delicious and the Lemoncello cake was divine. Plenty of leftovers to enjoy again the next day. The dining room seems cavernous when you walk in, but the booths are cozy and make for a nice dining experience. Everyone here is always friendly.
Very good food. Great service. Pleasant staff. Great prices. We love this restaurant.
Outstanding service, delicious food. Great overall experience!
Food was really good - hot. Huge servings and very reasonable pricing. Very friendly staff. Good variety on menu
Had a really good time on NewYears eve for dinner. Service was good food was great and big portions!
Bread was delicious. My husband said his seafood bisque was good. My misto salad was very good. My husband said his veal dish didn't have much flavor. My salmon was very good. Server was not very attentive.
Great atmosphere- outstanding service and delicious food!
Fetuccini alfredo was best I ever had. Also chicken parmeasan was delicious.
Food was fantastic and the service was great!
Delicious but the waitress must not have wanted to be at work that night. LOL
The food was good and we had nice portions. We had good service and I would recommend this restaurant for a casual dinner out.
