La Salette has become so popular that it's sometimes difficult to get a reservation for a weekend dinner. So lunch on the sunny outdoor patio is a great alternative. I enjoyed their paella which was so tasty with lots of clams & mussels. It was rich and filling. Their many fish dishes are also great options! It's nice to have a restaurant with some local wines on the menu in addition to Portuguese, Spanish and other wines that are not as familiar, but which pair well with the outstanding food. La Salette is not as pretentious as some of the other Sonoma restaurants, but just as worthy of a visit.

We sat inside at a corner table. It's a pretty location as there are big windows on three sides. It was our first time at the restaurant, and we both chose dishes we didn't care for. My octopus appetizer had slices of octopus that were plain and a bit rubbery and sat on small oily potato slices. The onion puree and spicy dots of sauce were okay. My "fish and chips" had good fries and a nice lightly dressed baby kale salad, but the cod pieces were small and over-cooked with very dry breading. I didn't finish them. My friend had a beef "stew" but is was not like a stew because it was an assembly of meat and rice and some greens, but there was no sauce. She didn't like it. The side dish of corn was delicious. If I go again I might stick to vegetables and try the desserts. The service was accommodating and efficient, and the restaurant was exceedingly clean. It was very crowded when we got there but emptied out as we arrived for a 1:30 lunch.

Well cooked food presented nicely plus a good selection of wines by the glass. Lots of seafood selections to choose from. Only drawback is the shared bathroom is outside the restaurant in an alleyway.

Great food, we had lunch! We split the beet salad then we each had the soup of the day which was butternut and it was delicious. My husband had the pull pork sandwich and he said it was the best he ever had. I had the scallops and they were cook to perfect.

An enjoyable dinner at the bar where we watched the cooks prepare the wood-fired entrees. The filet of the day, Barramundi, was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of roasted corn and collards. The whole fish, Bronzino, was expertly prepared and both entrees were served right out of the oven and were hot and delicious. We will return as there are other menu items, starters, entrees, and desserts we wish to try.

Foi muito bom! A comida estava deliciosa como de costume. Nós comemos demasiada mas foi boa. We had the pastéis de bacalhau, as always. I had the bacalhau no forno for the first time and was not disappointed. Caldeirada, grilled octopus, and the traditional desserts rounded out the meal. It is always a treat to dine at La Salette.

Very nice menu and excellent food! Not American-sized portions, but we thought the portion sizes were perfect. We had the octopus, pork belly, salt cod casserole and Portuguese fisherman’s stew. Extremely flavorful. Well-oiled and professional service team. Would highly recommend!

Always a local favorite, with lovely patio dining, reliably delicious food, and friendly, efficient servers. The Sea Bass is excellent and worth the $30, and the beet/goat cheese salad is wonderful. The seafood stew is also divine, and beautifully presented. It was our anniversary, so they treated us to a glass of champagne. The Portuguese beer and wine are a treat. This is one of the few remaining restaurants that bring out warm rolls at no extra charge, and a tiny bite of yummy chocolate nut candy for desert. A bonus is that the patio is dog friendly, and they even offered to bring out a water dish for our pup.

This restaurant has an attitude problem. They book more tables then they capacity for. It was a big mess for a lot of people before they got seated. There was a big line getting in. We had reservations at 7:15 pm. It took 45 minutes for us to het a table. The food was ok, the slow cooked short ribs where a little dry. The branzino was cooked perfectly. Because of the atmosphere of continuously angry people waiting in line, we will never return here.

One of our favorite places in Sonoma and last night was a surprise. Food was fantastic. The butternut soup and octopus was the best we've ever had. We had a 7:15 resversation and arrived 5 minutes early. We were told that we had to eat alfresco since their policy was first come first seated inside. This was a surprise since it was chilly and windy outside. They did have heaters outside but it was too windy. I'm confused on the policy for a reserved table being first come first seated with no statement of policy on App or website. I respect hard working owner chefs but, always remember, " Greed is a terrible thing".

We were greeted with a complimentary glass of Domaine Carneros sparkling wine for our anniversary. The service was friendly, prompt and professional. The scallop appetizer was outstanding as was the cod appetizer. The best part was the inventive and delicious desserts!
