We each enjoyed seafood entrees that were as pleasing to the eye as the palette. We opted to dine alfresco and found the service most attentive.
I loved it! I had been wanting to come here for a couple of years and finally did for my birthday celebration. I was not disappointed We (2) ordered 3 appetizers and one entré and shared everything. Delicious bacalhau fritters, caldo verde, fisherman's stew. Great wine selections! Not too expensive but well worth it. I will definitely be back!
Wonderful Portugese food! flavors were wonderful! Encourage you to try if you haven't!!
We were pleased with the whole experience. The waitress was really nice and knew what she was talking about.
The food was just amazing. I had the clams and pork and it was just amazing. I would have loved just more clams and less pork. Definitely recommend This place!
This is a Sonoma gem! Lovely flavors, attentive service and fun.
Excellent dinner with a South American twist - leans to seafood based dishes.
Everything was over-salted. The waiter was not very helpful in guiding us or providing recommendations.
The food is suberb! We have been coming for years and it does not disappoint.
All in all nice and tasty.
I had higher expectations after reading the reviews. Seating was bad, we were stuck in corner, very close tables so you can hear conversations of people right next to you, portions small. Very noisy place
I told the restaurant it was my friend’s birthday and they completely ignored her. This is the first time this has happened at this restaurant. We have gone there for birthday dinners for 12 years. Very disappointing!
It was our anniversary. We chose to sit outside. Candle wasn’t lit on the table till after we were done dining. Only saw our server twice, both times way too late. Just didn’t seem like we were all that important. That being said, all the serving staff was extremely nice and our server did bring us two chocolate covered hazelnuts since we opted out of dessert.
The food (as always) was well prepared, and attractively plated. The service is as good as the food, and the ambiance is intimate and relaxed. While there is an ethic basis to the menu, LaSalette's spin on classic Portuguese dishes is one of cosmopolitan elegance -- nothing pretentious or overly complicated, but nonetheless unquestionably refined and perfectly prepared. I always look forward to coming back. Oh yeah, and the wine list's good too!
Great restaurant with amazing food. We all had a lovely evening
A wonderful surprise! We felt like we were back in Portugal or Italy, with such fresh and authentic fish dishes. Don’t miss the flan - definitely a modern add to an old world special dining experience.
Went with my wife who is Portuguese and four friends, all Portuguese as well, they loved the food, enough said.
My husband and I had a great dining experience. The food was quite good and the service was exceptional. I was really impressed how fluid the service was considering the size of the restaurant.
The food and service was excellent. Very attentive waitstaff and we enjoyed being able to watch the food being prepared. A well run kitchen!
The tables were too closely packed and while the food was fine the portions were on the small side and given the prices, the value was not good.
Unfortunately LaSalette has stopped serving their excellent complementary amuse bouche and chocolate balls that use to provide an excellent start and finish to dinner. Our party all agreed that was very unfortunate as those two items made for an excellent start and finish for a meal and we would gladly paid to have them included. Otherwise the quality of food and service continue to be very high.
My family and I had another lovely meal at LaSalette. Three of us had their "paella" - delicious - and two of us had the fish and chips. We also had a lovely and very reasonably priced vinho verde. The ice cream/sorbet sampler was fun, with four very different and tasty offerings.
While the food was excellent, I was even more appreciative of how attentive our wait staff was. I had let them know when I made the reservation that one person in our party was allergic to shellfish and gluten - our waitress was extremely attentive to our party member's needs - walking her through the options and possible substitutions. That extra touch made the meal perfect.
Service was lacking. Good food, but not spectacular.
We were not wowed by the food. Some of the flavors were overpowering - the chili sauce with the cucumber and bass for example - the taste of the fish was completely lost! The best part was the chocolate dessert. Service was fine. Atmosphere was nice - we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio.
Delicious fresh food. Excellent service. Relaxing and cozy ambiance.
Nice experience. Sat outside. Great value. Food was interesting and different. Would definitely return
Very enjoyable visit. Food was very good. We dined late so not sure if noise level would be different at different times. Sea bass was excellent. Steak was good but we’re from the Midwest so our expectations were based on eating higher quality steaks. Great service.
Great meal and service. Highly recommend going. We got there at 6:30 and was seated promptly with our reservations. They have a great wine selection to include local and Portuguese wines. Menu is mostly seafood but great alternatives as well. I had the braised pork shoulder and clams. It was cooked perfectly with an amazing broth. My girlfriend had a beef, pork, sausage, and black bean dish which she finished with no complaints.
Lovely green salad to start our meal although the selection of other interesting appetizers were very tempting. Since it was our first visit to this restaurant, we chose their signature fish stew. It was delicious! The bread was addictive. Staff were very helpful and attentive. We sat in outdoor seating which was perfect.
Food was incredible. We ordered the branding fish. So tender and the sauce was incredible! The Mac and cheese was awesome. We had the 100 years tawny port flight...superb. We will be back next time we are in town.
This restaurant is perfect in every way. The food is incredibly fresh and tasty and the service is wonderful. Worth traveling the 40 mile distance from my home. Great wines, too!
This was a very good restaurant.
Loved the different foods
The food is interesting and outstanding. The service is fantastic. The fisherman’s stew, a signature dish, exceeded expectations and the taste was tremendous. Scallop starter was perfectly prepared. Service staff are very friendly but unobtrusive. Highly recommend this dining experience.
Very rushed service and over salted food. Pretty awful.
Yummy Portuguese food! I found it to be modern, tasty and interesting. Beautiful presentation, with modest portions and strong flavor were all impressive.
Great food & service. We eat at this restaurant frequently.
This place had some comfort food heritage dishes for me & is a cute tucked away spot
Every bite from the appetizers to the entrees were exceptional.
September 27 I had a reservation for three of my friends and I to dine here. I made the reservation weeks in advance. From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated as if we didn't matter. The hostess told us that we could sit outside; it was very chilly and windy and my reservation did not request outdoor dining. We were told we would be given a heatlamp - which we had to start ourselves after waiting for too long for someone to follow through. We waited from 7:00-7:34 for someone to take our order. The process declined from there. Perhaps the experience made the enjoyment of the food less than stellar; perhaps it was an off night for the restaurant. Even though we were eventually moved inside, the way we were treated sticks in our minds. So many missed opportunities. We shouldn't have to ask for our drinks more than once. We ordered our starters and our server stood there looking at us, then asked if we wanted to order starters. Eventually, we were comped our drink order, but no one said anything; it was only after careful review of the bill that we noticed it. No one apologized for the treatment or the lack of service. No communication. The one bright spot was Maggie, a wonderful server who stopped to listen to us and make sure that we got what we needed. If I could rate her service, she would get 5 stars.
A dining destination whenever my I and my spouse are in the area. This time two additional couples joined for a larger dining group, and we were excellently accommodated. Everyone loved it, and the wines are phenomenal as well.
