Lasagna Restaurant – Chelsea
you can imagine my utter surprise when my husband and I arrived at Lasagna after having confirmed our reservation to find the restaurant closed and a sign on the door saying that the kitchen was undergoing renovation. neither the restaurant nor Open Table alerted us to this which as you can imagine was shocking and frustrating. and we have been long-standing patrons of this establishment. I have written to the owner but so far there has been no reply. Open Table responded quickly and gave me extra points which helped a little to ease my concerns.
Lucky find, the menu looked good on Open Table, so we blindly made a reservation to meet friends.
From Omar at the door, to our waiter Andrew the experience was one to remember. The food was delicious.
We don’t make it Manhattan often for dinner, but we will defiantly be back.
Food is great (especially lasagna) but noise can be a bit much. Tables by the window are better. Service was pretty slow but restaurant was packed, so not a real problem.
Wonderful service. Our waitress was attentive, efficient, overall excellent.
We sat outside and enjoyed appetizers , wine, and Lasagna! Will definetely visit again!
I have been dining at this restaurant over the years and is has always been a great experience. The menu has a big selection and the food has always been consistently delicious. I staff is friendly and attentive and welcome you like a good friend. I recommend this restaurant highly.
It was great!! We had a good time! It was my friends bridal shower. The DJ was fantastic and the brunch was delicious and nicely priced.
The name of this restaurant is Lasagna Ristorante. When I logged in to my account to try to book the reservation, you didn't show it listed. When I went to the restaurant's website to book the reservation, it said I could do so via Open Table. Knowing that I couldn't, I submitted a question to Open Table. The first response I received had absolutely NOTHING to do with the issue. The 2nd really didn't address the issue either. Going through the restaurant's website that went through Open Table worked. There is definitely an issue with your system working with theirs but I couldn't seem to get anyone's attention to fix it.
The restaurant itself was wonderful, best salad I've ever had & the garlic bread was amazing. The meat lasagna was really good as was the Classic. If I visit NYC again, I would definitely go back. In addition to that, our server was fantastic.
The noise level was VERY loud, only because there were a group of 5 guys at the bar all standing, talking laughing & evidently thinking they were the only ones in the place. Thankfully for the later diners, it was about 7 when we arrived so hopefully they left by the time the late night crowd came in.
The food is always delicious. To me good Italian food consist of the right sauce. I always get the 4 cheese lasagna and I must say the cheese and sauce are soo delicious. It’s definitely a must try. Today I got the penne alla vodka with parmesan cheese and it taste so good. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Lovely date night. A bit pricy but to be expected. We sat in an opening straddling indoor and outdoor seating; very nice. Service was excellent.
Still one of my favorite restaurants in the hood!
The perfect meal, music, and service! I really enjoyed all the food I ordered: goat cheese salad, fried mushrooms, and the lasagne. It’s a dream come true for any lasagne lover to have a wide variety of lasagne to choose from, including vegetarian options! I highly recommend this restaurant, but be aware not to walk in the neighborhood as there are many drug addicts lying on the street, which can be a turn off after such a delicious meal.
We got off to a very bizarre start at Lasagna. We had a 7:30 reservation for a party of 7. Five members of our party arrived first, and they kept trying to seat only that group. It took a considerable amount of explaining to them to understand that we had a reservation - thankfully the restaurant was not extremely busy, so their appearing lack of preparedness for our large party was not an issue.
We were then told to wait at a random table near the bar until our table was ready - there was a cell phone and a half drunk glass of iced coffee on it? Weird, but fine. This table was in the way of the staff, though, so we were constantly being asked to move. We were finally seated 20 minutes after our reservation time.
We sat outside on a lovely evening. Our waitress was sweet and personable and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was very good and well prepared, reasonably priced for Chelsea. One member of our party’s food did not come out with the rest of the meals, and it was clear that it was not prepared because it did not come out for another 20 minutes and was scalding hot. The waitress offered her apologies, but with all the earlier confusion I would have thought a compensation was appropriate, however none was offered. All in all the experience was fine, but I likely will not be coming back.
I have come to Lasagna numerous times on my own with friends or for birthday parties. It was no brainer to reserve a space for my best friend's bachelorette party in NYC at this location. From the great service and fantastic meals to the truly bottomless drinks, we had an amazing time! Thank you so much for the fantastic experience!
hands down love this restaurant as the portions are generous and the food is always good. it is my son's favorite restaurant and we celebrate birthdays there as well.
Great! Incredible garlic bread and all entrees superb!
Sunday brunch, though delicious, often brings the surliest patrons. In spite of this, our server was DELIGHTFUL.
Very easy and convenient to make a reservation. Food was great, a little pricey but other than that fine.
Birthday Celebration! So yummy, I will definitely go again.
It was a very hot and humid night, so we elected to sit inside. Despite our request to close the entrance door sure to the heat, they didn't, and the ac was negligible. My friend and I hardly ate our meal because we were miserable in the heat, and ended up paying a lot of money to sit and sweat. I would not go back even though the food was good because we were so uncomfortable.
Pride event. Our waiter was new a slender blonde guy and a dark hair female. Both worked to provide an excellent experience. The seafood lasagna and linguine w garlic plus shrimp was delicious. Great food, service and ambiance for the value. Lastly, the hosts was quite charming. Thx for recommending the bar Gym, I had a great time.
Good food, great service. I would definitely go back for another meal.
The food is good. Overall good experience the drinks are verrry overpriced
What a versatile menu with amazing Lasagna - many different kinds of Lasagna! I had the rainbow trout with fresh sautéed spinach and sliced potatoes that melted in my mouth. The toasted bread had a parsley butter garlic spread on it that I couldn’t stop eating! Great place to come after an off-Broadway show.
One of my favorite Chelsea restaurants! I always enjoy myself, and have turned friends into fans.
My daughter ordered the Chicken Alfredo and it was great. I had the Sirloin Lasagna again
The eggplant roolstini was awesome and both the lobster and primavera lasagne were terrific. Garlic bread also wonderful.
Meal was wonderful. Great space! Can’t wait to go back.
It was easy to get a reservation. We were seated right away. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
We had a really great time, great to people watch on chelase.
The food was delicious, except for the fried artichokes, they were a little bland. Otherwise everything else was great! Our server (I forgot her name, but she was the best) was so wonderful, she was smart funny and helpful! Definitely recommend
Food was so so with haphazard service. Linguine frutti de mare was barely lukewarm and bland, I couldn't eat it. Hubbie's shrimp alfredo was bland too, with thin watery sauce. The place was packed and even though we had made an Opentable rez way ahead we were hustled onto the worst table in the room (in the middle of the room where we were bumped into frequently) while better tables stood vacant. They were out of over half the desserts on the menu at 6:00 PM, a regular occurrence there. Don't think we'll return.
This is where we always say lets go to...Love the gnocchi's - the staff and general mood. Food is excellent.
Servicio excelente 10 puntos, la comida y la atención excelentes. Volveremos
Love the bread at the table! The drinks are yummy. Great service.
The food was just fine, but nothing overly special. I was a bit disappointed in the quality, to be honest, but the service was great and the ambiance was good. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here again.
I went for brunch. The food was very good and the bottomless mimosas and bellinis were amazing.
Great good, wonderful staff! Thank you! Loved our anniversary dinner! And tiramisu dessert!
OMG - the service was so terrible, that it took an hour to get our food. Everyone was complaining, and the waiters were making up excuses and apologizing constantly. People walked out. I will never go back.
Wonderful service, food, and atmosphere. Love the fried artichoke appetizer and the different lasagnas. Great place to meet friends and talk without shouting since the ambience is relaxed. Will definitely return.
I will definitely make a return visit to Lasagna. Firstly, the food will excellent. I enjoyed the homemade gnocchi with marinara sauce. The service was excellent 👍 The luncheon special was a good deal, and the ambiance was charming! I recommend this restaurant.
