Lasagna Restaurant – Chelsea Ratings and Reviews
I chose Lasagna because I heard about their brunch. Every entree on the brunch menu comes with a drink and then you can upgrade to bottomless for 11 more. My friend and I did bottomless brunch. I arrived earlier than my friend and nearly two minutes after he sat down the waiter came to ask for our order. We said we were not ready but he told us we had to order now because there was a big party ready to order and if we didn't get our order in before the party, we would have to wait an hour for them to get their food. We said ok and thought he would still give us a minute or two but he stood nearly on top of us waiting for our order. We made a snap decision only giving the menu a quick look. I made the mistake of ordering the Cobb Salad. My salad was listed at 16.00, anyone who would pay 16.00 would anticipate a salad larger than one on a SALAD PLATE. I've lived in New York for 5 yrs and I've never seen something so sad. It was honestly offensive and unapologetic, anyone who would put that salad in front of me also knows its a giant rip off. The salad itself was not fresh, it was heavily dressed, and the portion was so tiny for the price it was just honestly really upsetting. I don't usually leave reviews but I feel offended that the restaurant even thought that it was a fair price for what they served me. My friend got 3 eggs with homefries, it was expensive for what he got but it wasn't as much as an abomination as my salad. We ate and our drinks were refilled 4 times while we were there. The final straw was that we were dropped the check within an hour and a half total of being there. There were 5 girls across from us who were also doing bottomless and they were given 2 hrs of bottomless. When we got the bill we just kept it on the table and continued to chat. Our waiter came over and told us we had to pay because they had other reservations. I've been to a lot of busy brunch places, and I've never been treated so poorly by staff
The food, as always, was excellent. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff was missing someone ( we were told) so orders were significantly delayed. We had a 7:30 curtain and , altho we sat down at 6:15 and ordered before 6:30, our food did not arrive until almost 7 pm. I have eaten at Lasagna many, many times and this was the first time such a situation occurred. it will not stop me from going back again... the food is always delicious!!
Food was pretty good but the service left a lot to be desired. Once the food arrived, we asked for some condements which never arrived. We also told the waiter that we had a Bday and to see if they could bring candles and help celebrate by singing. Our request was totally ignored.
This is a perfectly pleasant Italian restaurant with acceptable food. The barmaid was very friendly, as was our waiter, and the staff could not have been nicer or more efficient. As to the food, the meatball appetizer was truly delicious; the chicken Parmagiana was okay but positively choked with salt. When will chefs understand that one does not have to overdo the sodium to make something taste good? For that reason I can't recommend the place. I also think they should raise the lights a bit and lower the music. Otherwise, it's okay, and if you love lots of salt on your meal you'll probably have no objections.
As always , great food and excellent service. I was entertaining friends from California. A request for ginger beer was satisfied. We learned later that the ginger beer was usually used only in mixed drinks but they wanted to accommodate my out of town guests. Many NYC restaurants would not have gone the extra mile.
Great choice for dinner before a show at Atlantic Theater. Pasta choices are plentiful and varied. Portions are generous and the service was warm and friendly. Not too much ambiance but it didn't really matter. Location and tasty pastas and a decent glass of wine made for lovely dinner before theater.
This restaurant has a fairly standard Italian menu and the food is good. They have some good 'takes' on Lasagna with different ingredients. There are also other Italian staples. It is a good place before the theater as the service is quite quick and dishes not too complicated.
Went there with my boyfriend for brunch since we were visiting NYC for the weekend. Service was good; the wait staff was very attentive and quick. The bottomless deal was also well-worth it and the food was also very good. Great spot to visit if you're a tourist and just want to have a nice meal outside in Chelsea.
We went for the bottomless brunch during the Phish run. We did open table last minute after finding it by Googling best bottomless brunch places near our hotel (The Stewart Hotel). This was a 2 hour all you can drink brunch with an entree. It worked great for our 5 drinkers! We also took advantage of the all you can drink sparkling Rose for $25.00. We went 12-2pm. You do get cut off at 2pm. Rightfully so. We found ourselves having to locate our server quite a bit. He was nice enough but seemed pre-occupied. Can't remember what I ate cuz I drank too much but everyone was happy! Sat outside and watched the NYC crazziiees! Love, Phishing from VA!
On the menu it says that gluten free and whole wheat pasta are available. Nowhere does it mention an upcharge and the waitress didn't mention it when we ordered. Our food took a very long time to arrive and we even had to ask the waitress where the food was because she did not bother to check on us at all. Once the check arrived, the two meals which we asked to have gluten free pasta were each $5 higher than the price on the menu. When we asked the waitress about this, her response was rude and dismissive. She said, "Well everyone knows there's an extra charge for that!" We also spoke to someone else in charge (although not the manager because there didn't seem to even be a manager there) and he dismissed it as well and did not change anything on the check. Needless to say, because of the way this situation was handled, we will not be going back to this establishment. Also, the management, if there is any, should teach their waitstaff how to talk to customers. I think our waitress was named Jessica and she was downright rude.
Lasagna is a nice restaurant close to the Joyce Theater where a friend and I were seeing a dance performance. We had an early dinner (pasta with seafood and kale and mushroom lasagna). We shared a vanilla gelato for dessert. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. There is also a nice choice of wines by the glass. We found the garlic bread very salty. The lasagna was served so hot it couldn't be eaten for close to ten minutes.
I made a point of visiting the restaurant after watching a television food programme about the vast selection of lasagne available. The menu is extensive but it was the 17 different lasagne that interested me. I had the steak lasagne & hubby had the rib steak lasagne. There were a few diners that were sharing a dish as they were very generous.
Lasagna is a consistently good place to go for dinner. I love the food, prices are very reasonable, the wait staff is very attentive and I've always had a great time there. The friends that I brought with me this time were very impressed with the food and the ambience. highly recommended.
