Never disappoints. Been consistent for 20 years.
The food is fantastic! We love the empanadas and the kiwi martini! Everything we order is always great. This is a place we return to time and time again.
Saturday night and very busy but the system for taking names and seating was quite chaotic, unorganized, and off putting. Just develop a little system and have a set hostess and it’ll be fine. Food was great. Service was wonderful once seated.
My husband and I arrived at 5:00, which was good - there were few people in the restaurant at that time. We both ordered the steak special - entrana, which came with plantain, yucca and half a baked potato. We were also served three types of sauce - a mild hot sauce, chipotle mayo and chimichurri sauce, my favorite. Our food arrived sizzling on metal trays set in a wooden frame. The food was great, but the service was a little slow. However, I wanted to try a soup on the menu and the waitress advised me not to - it wasn't good that day, too salty. I thought it was good of her to inform me, so I wouldn't order it and be disappointed. We had plenty of food leftover to take home. I would like to go there again, because I saw several other things on the menu I would like to try, including pollo al ajillo.
I made a reservation at one location, but ended up eating at the other (in Portage Park) when my partner went to the wrong location. The first location staff was understanding of my predicament, and I headed to the other location. The food where I ate was acceptable, but nothing outstanding. If you really like grilled meat this place is for you, but not so much if you like more veggies and interesting sauces.
Very good food and excellent service.
I would go back again.
We can for my husband’s bday. They were nice enough to give him a free birthday flan. We had a nice meal and a good time.
The menus has a great deal of variety and the red sangria was delightful. The wait staff was courteous and responsive. Our food was just how we ordered it and severed promptly. It was very close to the theater for which we had tickets for a show later that night.
The prices are nice and the food is wonderful. You won't be disappointed.
I have been coming to Las Tablas for many years and have always loved their food and service. Unfortunately, this time was not the same. I had a reservation for 7:45pm and was not seated til 8:30. The restaurant was extremely busy and there was no system in place for seating. There was only one person seating everyone. To my knowledge she is the owner of las tablas. There’s needs to be a better system for getting clients to their seats and no have to wait so long.
Food was amazing service was great
The skirt steaks are consistently outstanding! The service is consistently inconsistent. This time we received excellent service from Andreas. Try the caipirinha (like a mojito)!
Our server was very pleasant and attentive so he made the whole experience better. We ordered two orders of the combination empanadas, and they must have changed the recipe because they were not as tasty as before. They seemed like they were either not cooked long enough, stale, or not house-made. The most of us ordered the Entraña, and they were delicious, but kinda salty for my liking. Despite of the empanadas I would go again.
Server wasn’t very attentive
Family dinner to celebrate upcoming birthdays. Food was delicious - well-prepared and authentic Colombian food.
This place is one of my all time favorite Chicago spots! It's all about the food baby!! Food is amazing!!! I've been here a number of times throughout the years and will certainly continue to come back for special occasions or just because!!
With a confirmed reservation, we (a party of 10 with elderly) stood waiting in a very crowded tight space for over 30 minutes! The hostess was completely aloof and did not offer 1 ounce of apology, wouldn't even look me in the eye when I questioned her. Everyone in the waiting area was complaining because they too had reservations. The whole purpose of a reservation is NOT to wait. The waiter was very good and attentive and the food was delicious. So very mixed feelings on this place.
Amazing food and service at las tablas! Will gladly go again
This is my second time eating at the Lincoln Park location. I truly love the food--it is phenomenal. Each time I have been, the service has left a bit to be desired. I felt like , given the slow day, our waiter was very inattentive. The food is great--from apps to dessert, have never eaten anything I haven't liked here! I will definitely be back for the food, but I'd love to have better service in the future!
We checked in a couple minutes before our reservation time (7:00pm on a Saturday), and were told that there would be a 10-15 minute wait until a table would be available. Considering how crowded the restaurant was, 10-15 minutes isn't a terrible wait, but I was disappointed due to the fact that we had a reservation.
Once seated, our server was attentive. The food was delicious. The ambiance was enjoyable. Overall, a great experience. I will return.
I had a wonderful time at Las Tablas. They have the best customer service I've experienced in a while. The server was SO amazing! (I hate I cannot remember his name.) He had such a gentle, kind, elegant, and pleasant manner. The ambiance was warm, cozy and inviting. The decor is authentic, beautiful, and kind of romantic. The food was delicious. I appreciated the server introducing great sauces for my steak. I had never tried such sauces before. My taste buds were rejoicing with happiness!
This is a great place for any occasion: meeting with friends, celebrating a special occasion, or even for taking yourself out for a delightful treat. Additionally, I was there during the lunch hour. If you're a writer, this would be a great place to write or even read a good book as you enjoy a great meal and sip some wine. (I don't drink wine, but the atmosphere is right for it.) This would really be a great place for a romantic date.
I can't wait to go there again!
I went to Las Tablas for my Birthday. It was my first time there and I have to say it was a great experience. The steak was absolutely great and would highly recommend to anyone. I wasn't a fan of the yuca as it was very dry and lacked overall flavor. For the price and quality of the steak you can't go wrong. I also ordered a pitcher of sangria. I've had better but it wasn't bad by any means. The server was very attentive and understading. I will defintely be going back to Las Tablas.
Food is fantastic. Food portions was bigger than I anticipated. Highly recommended
The best skirt steak ever
Meh, is all I can say. Not really understanding the other great reviews. Food was okay and while the server was very nice, she couldn't answer some basic questions. Drinks came out well after the appetizers were delivered. Recently moved to the city but we won't be going back to Las Tablas. Shame, because we eat out way too much and always interested in finding unique restaurants.
The food was spectacular.
Great steaks! Awesome place for low-carb eaters. The combination meat plates are a great value!
They may have been understaffed as there was no hostess, one bartender, and one server. Food was alright, steak came out well done when we asked for medium and most of the food was well done/burnt, but we didn’t say anything bc we were celebrating a special day, but not even a complimentary dessert or nothing. :/ I think the sauces changed, they used to have a better chimichurri sauce. Champagne was good tho.
Las Tablas is authentic Colombian food at its best along with great service. I recommend their mojitos and steak!
We came here for my brother's birthday because we needed a spot where there's meat but also has options for vegetarians. We noticed they have an award winning veg. menu but to our surprise they only have 2 options , according to our server it's something new the owner is trying. So how is it award winning??? The dishes we picked were good but nothing special. we will not be back.
Love this place! A great assortment of menu options - from appetizers to entrees. There were a couple of dessert options but we were so full from the appetizers and entrees, we took a pass. Highlights for me included the ceviche, guacamole and plantains and the entrada - everything was cooked as we requested. Lots of flavors in each dish - another highlight for me. I love food with personality. The service was also very good - even though it was a busy Saturday night.
Everything was great, great food and really good sangria.
Food and drinks were delicious, as usual. Our waiter was also extremely accommodating. Having to wait more than 30 minutes for our reservation, and having to do the hostess' job in finding us a table was not good though. I may continue to eat here because I love it so much, but I'm afraid that our guests won't be returning due to the extremely long delay and lack of action.
Great food great service
Excellent food. Excellent service. One downside is the drinks were pricey but that’s expected anywhere these days. Would still go back.
Great food, great drinks (sangria), loved the environment, and great experience. Highly recommend.
Amazing skirt steak! Could have done with our the TVs even though they were near the bar. Food and service were excellent and great value.
I have been here several times. Meat was tasty. Sides tasteless and not good.
The skirt steak is delicious as are the thin fried homemade plantain chips. The drinks are great! It is a casual fun place to go.
This was my second visit to Las Tablas, the food and service were even better than the first time. Their signature Margarita was fantastic and my grilled shrimp were done perfectly. I also really enjoyed the dipping sauces provided for the table. Well done, Las Tablas!
