Las Tablas Colombian Steak House
The service here has gone downhill the last few times I’ve been here. The people in our party ordered their steaks at varying degrees of doneness, and they all came out rare. No one at our table even ordered it rare.
I have been a few times before here and was great but last Sunday was terrible. We sit at our table in a normal way. They took 15 minutes to serve water and 15 to 25 minutes to take our order. Food was lukewarm. My wife order a matrimonio well done and steak came medium well worst cas scenario one of our guess was serve 30 minutes after they serve everyone food. Waiter was confused !
He knew he was terrible on his gratuity !
This time las tablas suck !!
I came on Mother’s Day and the service was great, the food was delicious, and I would definitely come back.
The steak was outstanding and cooked exactly as I ordered it. The ajiaco was absolutely delicious.
Service was very slow; we waited a half hour before anybody even took our order; and then waited another while before appetizers came out.
Food was fantastic! Our party of 5 ordered a variety of dishes but our favorite was the specialty of the house - outstanding! We will be back!
I had the Pollo al Ajillo and it was the best chicken I have had in a long time! They brought out a flight of sauces and I used the chipotle mayo with the chicken. I was in town for a show and I am not used to paying that much for a drink. I would skip the alcoholic drink the next time. Overall I was very pleased with the service and our food!
Friendly service with a diverse menu
loved it! Would go back again. The only complaint was the city turned their gas and water off and threw our dinner/show plans off. Not really their fault. Had to reroute dinner to after the show. Great experience otherwise.
This was our first visit and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was energetic. The service was a bit slow and the hostess was rather rude but overall great experience!
I’ve been to this restaurant about 8 times. Unfortunately, the last 3 times it seems like their food just isn’t what it use to be. The food isn’t warm when it comes out and the taste isn’t there either. Not sure what changed but I’m hoping they are becoming aware of the change.
Good food, nice people working there, great service. I hope to return soon.
Good skirt steak
Our food was great, we both had the skirt steak and sangria. The sauces were good, however my friend did have some stomach issues after eating for the next day and thinks it was the hot sauce, since I had the chimichurri and chipotle sauce and was OK.
Very good food. Great value. Way to disappeared at times.
I made reservations for my boss and visiting clients for lunch at 11:30am CST. When they arrived at 11:35am, the restaurant was not open. The cook showed up and made them sit in the dark while they waited for the manager to arrive.
Four of us had a great meal on a slow Monday night. Servings were huge and service was friendly. No alcohol was allowed to be served, so check to see if BYOB is an option. Didn’t matter because we enjoyed Limonada con Coconut, a great drink! We would definitely return.
Miguel our waiter was attentive even though it was a busy night. The Entrana is very flavorful. Loved the chicken empanada. Drinks are great too.
Would recommend this place to my friends and for sure we will return.
Everything on the menu is absolutely exquisite! Zuriel was our server and he was super detail oriented and knew exactly when we needed him. Every time I go to Las Tablas I ask so sit in Zuriel’s section!
THIS IS EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY's FAVORITE RESTERAUNT IN CHICAGO....so every celebration happens here!! NEVER A BAD EXPERIENCE!!!
We will definitely come back to this place. The food was excellent and accommodated all our dietary preferences (including plant-based and even Whole30), and the beautiful Spanish guitar created a warm and subtle backdrop to our conversation. We loved it!
They gave away our table even though they had said that our reservations were for 745 pm and we got there right on them so we had to wait a whole hour to be seated for our party of 8, it was a friends birthday. They kept forgetting our orders , they never even brought out the dessert that I had requested for my friends birthday. The drinks are good , the ambience is good and the food is decent but the service is a no go for me.
had a party of 8, and started out with the Auras, Empanda's and crab cakes - -all were fantastic, for the main course, a large variety of the steaks, chicken, veggie empanadas and red snapper -- food was plentiful and delicious, great value -- dessert was the tres leches cake, coconut flan, and oreo cake -- great way to end the meal -- and the coffee was excellent -- loved the service, kept all of our water and iced teas filled, and was attentive and not intrusive -- would definitely come here again and again, great place
Great food and great value. Definitely will be heading back.
Good experience and food was great.!
Excellent service, amazing food in generous portions, accommodating to dietary needs/preferences
Love this place!! Food is wonderful and plentiful!! Reasonable for the amount of food and the quality of the food! Definitely will go there again and again!!
We went for my wifes birthday
I highly recommend the sampler platter - it kind of makes it like eating at a Brazilian steakhouse but it all comes out at once. We added the seafood option and split it among three of us and still had some leftovers. Everything was delicious and I'm glad I didn't have to choose only one meat for my dinner. Small but nice wine list. Great margaritas and mojitos.
The food was great and so was the service!
great place. food needs to be a little hotter but overall was good experience
Food was good but not for large groups at all. Service was horrible and not tended properly.
No tenian colombianas sodas, muy costoso todo, la paella colombiana no tenia sabor
, el arroz con pollo con sabor a quemado
We ordered a combination plate that was supposed to include ribeye, but they brought churrasco instead. We thought it didn't look quite right, so we asked the waiter, and he said it was ribeye. By looking at pictures online afterward we figured out it wasn't correct.
We also ordered an appetizer that never showed up (when our meals showed up, we asked the waiter to cancel it, so that was fine).
The food was also a little cold.
Excellent service overall
We waited more than 20 minutes to be asked what we'd like to drink which we immediately ordered our food knowing it would likely that it be awhile before we saw our waiter again. We didn't get our drinks until 40 minutes into sitting there. We didn't get our food for more than an hour, and when we did they messed up our order. We didn't get our appetizer, they tried to tell us they ran out of what we ordered even though we saw the same dishes coming out of the kitchen. Eventually we did get our appetizer but by the time we got it we weren't really hungry.
I would recommend it for the food however the service was very slow (an hour to bring our food). Also the drinks were very watered down (we tried multiple).
Overall: We live in Chicago. There is much better steak to be had.
More detail: Service was lacking: It took nearly 20 minutes to get our order in, another 30 to get our food, and another 20 just to get a check. They only have BYOB M-Th, and made no exceptions, even despite the fact that we were willing to pay the equivalent of one or their priciest bottles to drink from ours (a far superior vintage, BTW). We were serially ignored after this.
Food: We ordered the duo sampler. The only delicious part of the meal was the skirt steak. The ribs were dry and bland the yucca unremarkable. The chicken was, well, chicken. Overall, a boring, long, crowded, uneventful experience.
Food, drinks and service were all amazing. The bartender was extremely welcoming...greeting and chatting with me as we waited to be seated by the host.
