Las Tablas Colombian Steak House - Irving Park
I was celebrating my husband birthday. 20 minutes waiting to get our drinks order. it took them 15 minutes to bring a glass of wine. we were charged for food that never makes it to the table. Never coming back there.
Wonderful food! Not the most attentive service but the staff was very friendly.
Food was good and authentic. We went to celebrate my sons 25th birthday. It was not my first time there, but I do feel it was overpriced. Our waitress Pricilla was good and attentive. The live band was great! They came over to the table to play happy birthday with the instruments. He loved it! I would go back for a special occasion.
The band during dining hours was too loud and hard to have a conversation with dining partners
Food was delicious! Definitely coming back.
Food was delicious did not disappoint. The beginning service was terrible we sat for 15 mins without so much as being noticed. Once noticed we ordered drinks with the initial waiter. It took another 20 mins to even place our order. Eventually we ended up with a wonderful waitress whom went above and beyond to make the rest of our dining experience fast, efficient and pleasant.
Arrived and no happy hour specials advertised! We asked and was told drinks only but online there was food. Waiter had to ask cook if it was OK. He did say yes. Skirt steak delicious. Ribeye dry and tough.
First time trying Last Tablas and was not disappointed. Food was very good, and the amount is also a plus. For a 25-30 dollar plate you'll either be stuffed or have plenty to bring home. Definitely look forward to going to Las Tablas again in the future
Specifically went there to celebrate a birthday and waitress completely ignored it. SERVICE was poor.
Great food, we had option for 2. Everything was delicious. There was live music, and good atmosphere.
The service was very poor....19 minutes for our drinks t arrive....food was dry and unappetizing ...took forever to get our check ...also server never checked back with us another was kind enough to help us
Celebrating a Birthday!! Great music and ambience !!
Band was unbelievably loud. Restaurant was only half full. Band was at full volume. We were yelling across the table yet still couldn’t hear each other. Food was good, band was good but experience was very stressful.
It was great ! Loved the place and food !
Came for a casual birthday dinner. The food was wonderful and the service was very good. I would definitely recommend.
AMAZING FOR DINNER AND LIVE MUSIC! Danced all night long with my date! Recommend the platter so you have an authentic taste of true Columbian food. Waitresses are rushed and seem to be short staffed, but they are so sweet! Gave them a huge tip for their courtesy
We love the food and Service was great ! The 🍹 drinking were great too !
Food was delicious. We tried the empanada combo and the grilled calamari. Both were fantastic. We also tried the mojito and passion fruit mojito as well. Passion fruit was a little sour, but both tasty. For dinner I had the combination plate with shrimp and skirt steak. They were both really good and flavorful, but the sauce on the steak was a little too salty. Made me wish I had ordered some rice! Shrimp were perfect though. As far as the sides that come with the combination, the plaintain was nice and soft and sweet. One of my favorites. Not a big fan of yuca when it’s fried. Potato was average. Overall a good experience! Would definitely come back
Went here to taste the food because I was interested in renting the banquet space but the food was poor. The presentation of the appetizers was poor. The plantain balls stuffed with cheese and guava read great on the menu but they were overly ripe and you could not taste any cheese and the tiny piece of guava was lost in the mushy oily mess inside the ball.
The other appetizer was a cornbread “arepa” with chorizo. There was a small piece of chorizo and and an arepa that was cut in 4 pieces that was very dry.
My entree was a sort of garlic chicken dish and the chicken was very very over cooked and the texture was almost rubbery.
I asked for rice and beans on the side and the waitress forgot and when I reminded her she said they had run out of white rice but then came back with a smalll plate of rice and beans. The rice was scraped off the bottom of the pot which for some is a delicacy but I would say the beans were tasty and that was the only thing good about my whole dish.
My partner asked for a stuffed chicken and it had an almost glow in the dark green sauce all over the plate. Quite sloppy again with the presentation. He said his dish was “edible” which didn’t say much at all. The yuca on the plate along with the potato seemed as if was heated in the microwave too long. Just hard and dry.
He asked for sparking water and they gave him tap water. I tasted and then asked a 2nd waitress for sparkling water and she came back with a glass of; tap water once again.
There was a guitarist who played very well and that was nice. The waitress didn’t come back to ask if all was fine. We had to ask another waitress for the sparking water and then wait quite a while for the check and the place was empty so didn’t understand the delay. Overall we had to give it a bad rating. Besides the beans and the guitarist all else was poor.
Food was just okay, portions were small, and drinks didn’t seem well made. Music was great, but overall quality was lackluster. Perhaps due to Mother’s Day it suffered.
Arrived at time of reservation, sat pretty quickly and received water and some tray of dipping sauces. We waited 15 minutes and left as not one server greeted us or let us know they would be over soon.. no attention what so ever. 3 servers entered our area served the other tables in our section and didn’t even look our way. So we left. Really disappointing as we then drove 15 minutes to Bucktown to eat at Las Palmas and would rate them 5/5 stars for quality, food, service, ambiance and general attention to their paying patrons
I was truly disappointed tonight with Las Tablas. I had a 7 pm reservation and was seated promptly. Shortly after we were seated our waiter came and took our orders, both appetizer and main entrees. Then the live band started, which I didn't know was going to be there. The music was so loud I couldn't even talk to my friend who was in town. The waiter came by only once after bringing our food to clear our plates. He asked if we would like dessert and we said we would like to look at the dessert menu. 20 minutes later and the waiter still did not return. Another 10 minutes later we still never saw our waiter and got up, squeezing through the crowded seating to get to the hostess stand. We had to yell in the hostess' ear that we wanted our bill since our waiter never came back. After standing for another 10 min at the front of the restaurant, the waiter finally came with our bill. It was the most ridiculous situation to deal with when trying to have a nice meal out.
We've been there before and the food and service was not up to par had to ask the waiter for my drink three separate times also the food was salty and some of the food was actually lukewarm you could so it was not freshly made.
Food was good but service was horrible. Went to celebrate my mom’s birthday and left very disappointed with the experience.
The food and ambiance was great. Customer service was impeccable. It's a great spot for a first date. Would go there again for any occasion.
It was amazing and the food was great
Overall its a good place. Food is very very delicious. Good place to have a nice little fancy dinner. Will come again.
The drinks were great but pricy. The meat cooked well and tasty. Great for a date or special occasion. It was a bit chilly though.
Great food and happy hour
Came here for NYE again this year. Great food and relaxed, fun atmosphere.
I was drastically disappointed we did reservations at Christmas Day for Las Tablas. We are colombia family so we set reservations 11:00 they said they wouldn’t be open until 12pm . What made me mad is that they didn’t even have kindness of calling saying they won’t be open on time or email nothing! We got there they told us we are closed I said what how so we made rsvp..? They said we won’t be open until 12pm I said could u at least received us and try to prep within 15-20 min they said no sorry without a gift card for our lost time . . Just a I’m sorry! At least I would expect a gift or promotional coupon for thier unorganized embarrassing incident.. or a 10% off or anything to make us feel that they care about our time! As Colombians you wonder why progress is so slow to come?! It’s this attitude of lack of drive fire in thier belly’s to fix and better themselves why Colombia as Country will not be great. Sad as I have family there..!
It's a bit loud while the band is playing, so it's hard to have a conversation.
Son in from out of State
Came here to celebrate my partner’s birthday. We’ve been a couple of times before and always enjoyed it. We ordered drinks, ceviche of the day (shrimp), and Picada Mar y Tierra. The ceviche was good but very different from any we’ve had before as it had a viscous, tomato-y sauce. The Picada Mar y Tierra is a dinner for two and extremely good. The quantity of food is probably more appropriate for four people honestly, but it is a great value for everything that comes with it. Service was terrific. My only criticism is that the restaurant is quite loud - everything echos. We will definitely be back.
Food was amazingly delicious. May be the best skirt steak I've ever tasted.
Decent food slow services
The food was so delicious, perfectly cooked, the meat was so juicy it is worth driving or walking to the restaurant! Thanks for the chef! Everytime outstanding food quality!
The bartenders do not know how to make drinks . My martini was half empty and not a martini just juice.
