The restaurant atmosphere and service was very good. However--why, WHY do you refer to this restaurant as a place that serves tapas ? !! It doesn't serve them and there is nothing like that on their menu. Yet, when I queried San Antonio riverwalk restaurants with tapas, this is the first restaurant that appears on your list ! We would NOT have eaten here if we knew in advance that they did not serve tapas. As it was, we arrived for a late dinner so, being surprised at the menu, we did not feel as though we had time to go elsewhere. The staff and service was very good, however.
Brunch on a Sunday. The food was diverse and the service was solid. We got crammed into an overflow area with zero ambiance and no view. Very disappointing for the price points.
Went for Mother's Day brunch buffet. Vast selection of food that tasted great and service was prompt and exceptional
Was the kind of place where everything was Ok ..just ok. Except for the Brussels sprouts - very sweet but very tasty.
Food prepared beautifully with nice service, and, it’s on the Riverwalk!
Advertised as a tapas restaurant (not tapas). Food was very salty and very over cooked (Med-rare steak came out Med-well). Mashed potatoes were from a box. Won’t be returning.
Went in with high expectations and was disappointed, entrees came out incorrectly and before the appetizers. To their credit the manager he did bring them out and give ya them for free. However overall a very forgettable experience.
Good place on Riverwalk. Sidewalk next to patio. Great people watch. Dining was good. Good food. I had Salmon. It was fun place to be esp after the Final Four. I might like to stay there one wknd.
Great service, beautiful atmosphere!
Outstanding dinner with chefs willing to modify for dietary concerns—great ambiance along Riverwalk.
Went for a Sunday lunch at 1:30pm hoping for a spectacular meal outside watching the barges pass. Breakfast was still being served, therefore the menu was limited. Each of us ordered something different - beef/crab cakes. Fries were unique in size and cut seeming to be from a previous day dry and soggy. The peppercorns were flavorful hiding a large portion of fat..... nice view, very quiet. Another owner would have maximized on this fabulous spot far from the crowds.... disappointed. Glad I hadn't invited friends who happened to be out of town.
Breakfast was good, however it came with a hair on the side. Very unorganized for tourist. This restaurant caters to the corporate groups at the expense of their tourist.
Excellent food and excellent service!
Visiting from out of town with old friend. Decided steaks for dinner and wasn’t disappointed. Everyone was attentive and great service. Food was delish.
The staff did an OUTSTANDING job fulfilling our request for a table for 8 and even gave us some special attention to make my dad's birthday special. It was a night to remember. David, our waiter was incredibly good and funny. Food was delicious and it felt like the red carpet really rolled out for us
Our server was very knowledgeable and willing to accommodate our health food issues. She readily gave experienced opinion on menu items. It was a gorgeously designed space.
Food was excellent, enjoyed the quieter atmosphere for conversation. Service was very good, allowed us to have a leisurely dinner.
This restaurant needs to be updated. The ambience was horrible! Great food and service saved the day!!!
My boyfriend and I chose here for restaurant week! It is a lovely restaurant on the river and on a warmer night would have been lovely to sit outside. Our waitress was attentive and nice and the decor/atmosphere was inviting. The food (I suspect like most places for restaurant week) seemed prepared so some things weren’t “hot”, but had great flavor nonetheless. The Mahi stood out as amazing! Overall, good date night or nicer dining option and we will likely be back.
It was overall a disappointment. Food was mediocre. It was supposed to be a Spanish restaurant but the menu had completely changed and didn’t include any Spanish dishes .
We were hoping for a special New Year's Eve dinner, but the food was terrible- the French onion soup was inedible; the vegetables with our main course were cold and the steak was tough. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
It was New Year's eve so crowded and a bit louder than normal, but the pre-fixe menu was divine and it was a perfectly paced relaxing meal. It' s nice to have such a great place inside the hotel you are staying at!
Great price for the quality. The bar in the lobby was also nice and had an excellent happy hour with many of the same appetizers. Will definitely go again next time we are in San Antonio.
We went for a family Christmas Dinner. The Ambiance was Beautiful. Nicely decorated for the holiday. The menu options were great. They had a fixed menu, but also had other choices if you did not want the fixed menu. The food was Very Delicious! No complaints at all on the menu. The service was a little slow, but I imagine the holiday had something to do with that. Should be better prepared. I was upset that they ran out of my dessert choice, but what they offered was just as good.
All 5 stars says it all. A must for a wonderful meal experience.
Christmas Eve dinner with my wife. Service was slow. I ordered the prime rib meal. The meat was over cooked and dry. Worse prime rib ever. The paled potato was cold.
The only good thing about the meal was when we asked the waiter for the check he brought us the bill but told us some better has already paid our bill. Merry Christmas
I guess there are still good people in this world
This restaurant is listed as serving Spanish cuisine with Tapas offerings. This is not the case. Its a typical American fare. I hope the management corrects this, others have also left similar comments in their reviews.
Setting was pretty and restaurant was elegant but food was not up to the same standard. Expensive for the quality of food served.
Staff were very helpful.
The location was the beautiful and looking out on the Riverwalk can’t be beat. The food is good, but not spectacular- but certainly a good option on the Riverwalk and the service staff was very friendly and efficient.
Restaurant claims to be Spanish Dining, it is not. It is American Fare and the only thing that was of real Spanish cuisine was the Paella that just so happened to be that day's special entree. The service was good but overwhelmed as we were there a few times since we stayed at the hotel and it regularly seemed short of staff. Food is just average. Location is what keeps this place hopping, next to Riverwalk and being part of hotel. Keep you expectations reasonable (nice location, average food, stressed wait staff) and you won't be disappointed.
We were very disappointed in Las Rambles. All our research in looking at brochures, etc. indicated this was a Spanish Tapas type of restaurant. We were grossly misled, and were told that changed over a year ago. Very disappointing. We had a glass of wine, looked at the menu, and decided to go elsewhere.
Beautiful location on the river. Best dining outside if Weather permits but inside is nice. Good wine list. Filet was perfectly cooked. Pasta very well flavored. Wait staff not attentive s they were somewhat busy but adequate.
The bar in the lobby is delightful. Been there several times for cocktails.
Overall, this is one of our favorites for a nice dinner, reasonably priced, good ambiance and delicuous food.
Great food, atmosphere, outdoor seating near riverwalk. WONDERFUL breakfast buffet. Try the huevos rancheros. Attentive/friendly wait staff
This is touted as a Spanish restaurant but nothing on the menu is Spanish cuisine. They've changed chefs and the cuisine to American, apparently awhile back, but haven't changed any of the marketing. There were even promotional posters in the hotel recommending Spanish dishes. It was a let down.
Enjoyed the Thanksgiving Buffet. Selections were extensive and delicious. Pricey, but sumptuous.
Attended Thanksgiving buffet. Service was great, excellent carving stations. Missed seeing and eating the paella this year however.
Evrything in our dinner was excellent. Definitely we are coming back.
Food was OK, ambiance was good, would have been a good experience if my wife had not been stung by ants in the outside seating area, they are not good about cleaning those chairs, ants were attracted by food debris and my wife suffered the consequences, the waiters didn’t really care about the situation, last time they have my business.
My fiance and I went to Las Ramblas for the first time, and took advantage of the Culinaria San Antonio Restaurant week. The bar at the Contessa Hotel was beautiful. The main restaurant Las Ramblas is also beautiful, however, the noise level is very high. We wanted to eat out in the patio along side of the River Walk. The view, although limited, was very romantic. Adjacent to where we were sitting, two separate couples had become engaged at the foot of a beautiful stoic Cypress tree. My fiance ordered the featured Red Snapper, and I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes. The Red Snapper was very delicious and plump. The Enchiladas was also delicious with big chunks of white meat and tangy sauce. Unfortunately, the Mexican rice was bland. The surprise of the night were the drinks. My Top Shelf Margarita with Jalapeno peppers was outstanding. I would recommend this place for casual dining and cocktails.
Really poor service. Used dishes were not removed. We were generally ignored by the waitstaff who seemed to be directionless. Noise level was off the charts as unsupervised children played between the diners. The food was acceptable but not in line with our expectations. Our last trip to a restaurant that shares characteristics with a Woolworth grill.
