Special Occasion on Riverwalk. Dinner included outside seats for the fiesta parade. Everything was wonderful!
We had a wonderful time and the food was exquisite. Will visit again upon next visit to San Antonio
Lovely setting along the Riverwalk. Busy with seemingly only one waiter. I thought the food was too salty. My redfish dish was cooked beautifully with crispy skin but delicate moist meat but the “sauce” was too salty.
Drinks tasted funny.. allowed a singer to come a solisit for tips and was a little aggressive , no bread left? Dirty silverware ..disappointed
Had a reservation for 8 at 1pm this past Sunday for my wife's birthday. Upon arrival to the buffet the first thing I noticed was there was no bread, pastries, jelly, spreads, bagels, not even a single toaster. Plenty of smoked salmon but no bagels. I then asked the management where the "carbs" bread was and he explained they could bring some to the table. By the time the bagels were delivered they were cold and most of us had already finished our first plate. They offer a champagne/mimosa that is included with the brunch but our entire table had to continously ask for a refill. The bottles of Champagne are $3.50 and for a $400.00 bill I expected the buffet to be stocked and for glasses to be filled without having to ask every single time. Seemed like the staff was soooo ready for this Sunday brunch to end. They did bring "3" chocolate covered strawberries on a plate that said "Happy Birthday!" They must have been running short on thier arrangements of fruit because the fruit selection was non existent. They didn't have apples, oranges, cantaloupe, or even bananas. Wish I would have taken a picture of how pathetic the fruit section was. There was also no oatmeal. Guess you have to order that from the back and wait for them to cook it vs. It just being ready at a BRUNCH "BUFFET!" WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING OR RECOMMENDING THIS TO OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Its not about the price its fully about the experience and false advertisements and expectations.
Sunday brunch was amazing! Omelet station, prime rib, shrimp and oysters, fruits, salads and much much more! The dessert station was fabulous so save room to try several. Champagne and Mimosa’s to accompany the delicious food. Great deal
Wonderful hostess. Loved the food. Outstanding quality. They do cram in the covers inside and out. The lighting outside can be troublesome on some tables. Either too bright or not. Great to soak up the experience on the riverwalk. You really need to book a couple of data or more in advance
Service was great. I ordered a blackened ribeye, while the flavor was good, the piece of meet was not worth the $49 price tag. Definitely not prime beef.
The atmosphere was quiet, the food was good and the service was great. The scrambled eggs in the self serve containers could stand to be hotter as the eggs were barely warm. Very good variety of food options to choose from but it was a little pricey for breakfast.
Price is definitely too high for the quality and quantity of food. Very nice location and atmosphere, although the hostess could have been more accommodating to a request for a window table. She claimed they were all booked but they stayed empty until I left. She was very nice about it though and actually commented when I left that she should have seated me as I asked. All in all a pleasant dinner, but I am unlikely to ever go there again.
Had an excellent meal - with great service. Plan to go again.
The food was amazing. Portions were excellent, not too big. Service was not rushed but very prompt. A great experience
Brahim was a great waiter. Great service and attentiveness.
Four brother from four states met in San Antonio for a reunion weekend. Had brunch here. OUTSTANDING! Not a bad thing on the buffet. I ate mostly boiled shrimp and raw oysters and they were amazing. Great service. Unbelievably good value in a beautiful setting. We’re coming back for sure. We’ll probably stay at the hotel next time.
Always enjoy dining here when in San Antonio. Nice inside table by the window with a view of the Riverwalk. I had the pork and they were very accommodating to change the sides for me. My husband enjoyed his redfish. Great service, food, and view!
It came highly rated online but the two times I dined there on the same day were underwhelming. Lunch service was very slow and portions seemed a bit skimpy. Dinner was ok, had to send a steak back as was overcooked and the manhattan was very average.
Anyway the Riverwalk needs better dining and this should be one of them.. sorry but not there yet.
Amazing brunch! Best brunch buffet in San Antonio! Little pricey but absolutely delicious!
I went to Las Canarias with two work associates and the food and service were excellent. I had a great shrimp salad nicoise. We each had salads and they were all really good. The service is always good and the ambiance is lovely. It is one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio. I highly recommend it if you are in the area.
The brunch was fantastic as usual. Will be coming back. Our waiter was great!
The food was to die for. this was my second time staying in this hotel and I regret not coming to Las Canarias before. Now, this is not a place to eat on a budget for sure, but it was worth every penny.
Brought my daughter for dinner before Dancing with the stars performance. Lovely dinner and great service as usual!
Wonderful brunch! Oysters on the half shell were fresh and scrumptious. Shrimp, prime rib and omelette bar delicious. The quality of every meal was amazing. Our Italian waiter took great care of us with most pleasant service focused personality. My wife and I look forward to returning, and she has the highest standards being from Singapore. Well done managers maintaining this standard!
Wonderful service, and delicious meal.
Valentines dinner on the River Walk was the best. After many years trying to find a “better and more romantic “ valentines dinner place, we finally scored. Everything was great! 5 stars for sure! However, part of it was being with the perfect woman...
The heirloom tomato salad with arugula and basil ice cream was incredible!
My wife and myself have been here a few times already. Valentine's night is always the best. For my daughters prom night I reserved a date for her and her prom date. She was was very happy and excited to experience a place like this. Her and her date were both happily with the service and they were glad they enjoyed the food considering they never experienced the "fancy" food they say.
From the reservation process to the bananas foster this was the best Champagne brunch that I have ecperinced including the 4 Seasons in NY, Ritz Carlton DC and the Toronto CN Tower and another place in San Francisco. Shout out to Brahmin, Meat Carving, Dessert and Omlete ladies really everybody that made my friend Erica cry because of the attention you gave us for her birthday!! See you soon!!
Las Canarias is the perfect place for Sunday brunch on the River Walk! The food was outstanding with excellent service. They have the best coffee in San Antonio and the ambiance is wonderful and relaxing.
I wish I could have brought this restaurant back to Raleigh, NC as we have nothing like it here!
This place came highly recommended by a friend who had came back in December... probably the BEST meal we had during our stay.. the Sunday Brunch is something not to miss!
Excellent service. We needed a quick turn around to make it to a show and they did a great job. Delicious food. We got a table by the river, so ambiance was lovely
Service was excellent and the food delicious! We had a very nice seat close to a window & our server did everything to ensure we got out on time to make our show at the Majestic. Will definitely be returning.
Good menu selection and good service. Great place if you want some quiet conversation.
Birthday dinner was excellent and we had an attentive and friendly waiter
Our server was PHENOMENAL, and the dinner was excellent overall. However, my ribeye was served medium to medium well instead of medium rare. The same was true of at least one other table guest (did not get chance to ask the third). It was a great steak but not to my order—chef at an upscale place like this that charges $49 for the steak has GOT to be able to cook it to order—minimum skills expected for a line cook. Didn’t want to make a scene at table or make our server uncomfortable so we let it go, but chef needs to up his/her game or go elsewhere.
The service was amazing!!!
OpenTable did not make clear the hours of the brunch service. We reserved a table for 9:15 as the last open reservation until 11:30. We found, upon arrival, that only breakfast was being served at that hour. Las Canarias has a very limited breakfast buffet but charges alot for it. Mimosas were offered as part of the package, but they could not serve same until after 10:00. We had left by then due to limited buffet menu options. Las Canarias is great - and they have one of the very best brunches in town. Just make sure you're booking during "brunch service hours!" Breakfast buffet is not at all worth the price. Had we realized, we would have ordered something off the breakfast menu instead, and gotten a better value.
Food was not cooked properly. Paid $49 for rib eye raw and grisly. Big disappointment. Also place was empty but seated folks all next to each other. Was not a good experience
Buffet was expensive and food was okay. We made reservations based on other reviews and photos on yelp which are likely for a special brunch and not typical brunch. Service was outstanding. Ordered one thing from the regular menu which was good and recommended - huevos rancheros.
I’m a little confused about the measurement of the noise level. It was not at all noisy. It was perfect. The service was outstanding! My server was thoughtful and professional and engaging. The service was elegant. My only slight complaint was that the flavor of the polenta was a bit harsh. The greens and the meat were lovely. And the dessert was divine.
