We enjoyed having dinner here. The service was wonderful. Anything we needed or wanted was of no issue. Friendly and curious service. Loved our waiter Luis. And the food, oh my, delicious and so worth the money. Large portions and the taste was amazing! The guacamole was the best I have ever had. The chips were warm and fresh and the salsa was an added surprise of great taste. I was there many years ago and I plan to make this my place to go! Where can you go and have great service, delicious food and a beautiful place to enjoy all of that - well, this is it all rolled into one!! Enjoy!!
Very limited menu was kinda disappointed as I waited a week for a reservation. Food tasted great and service was good. Looking forward to the normal menu.
I know restaurants are struggling during the pandemic and it’s hard on business and staff. Unfortunately this cost wasn’t our favorite from the restaurant, the waiter was a little impatient, the food wasn’t as good as previous times we’ve been and the menu had changed. Not sure if I’ll be back soon.
Beautiful place out on the patio. Fajitas, chips and salsa and the house salad were all very good. Service was ok. Not much personality from our server but he may have just been having an off day. I will return.
Las Campanas was really nice. Nice atmosphere and it was quiet. The food was okay. My Carne Asada was very small for the price and had fat on it. I would try it again but not order that.
I liked my fajitas but husband did not like his enchiladas, maybe have burritos or tacos on menu would be nice
The server mixed up our meals and then blamed us for it.
One of our favorite places to dine. Great service great atmosphere!
Bring your bug spray... my family and myself have no less then 50 combined mosquito bites from the hour and half we were at the restaurant... the food was delicious, highly recommend their monthly margarita flavor watermelon but the service sucked beers were served warm and when we asked for a ice bucket to cool them it took way to long. For the amount of money spent I am not sure it was worth it all especially cause we all itch soooo bad from the bites!
Simply the best like always. Staff welcomes you like you are family.
The mosquito bites was the only issue
Very nice place to dine. Service was great on time and very respectful. I would like to go back soon thank you.
Lovely dinner and felt safe!
Food was good, but I had too many flies flying on my food. It was hard to enjoy my dinner! You all need to add fans to help keep them away!!
The staff brought me some a cup of apple cider vinegar and put it on my table. That helped a little but not too much. I know it was hot and everything, but I think fans blowing in the direction of the tables might have kept them away.
Great experience. Terrific waiter. Beautiful atmosphere.
This beautiful restaurant was a big disappointment. I blame most of the shortcomings on the COVID virus so it would be interesting to go again if and when the world returns to normal.
Las Campanas is part of the elegant Mission Inn complex and the beauty of this property is unequaled anywhere in Riverside if not all of Southern California.
That said, we probably won't go back -- at least not soon. The eating establishments (this one and the courtyard restaurant) are woefully understaffed so service is abysmal. (Mostly friendly but unbelievably s-l-o-w.)
The food at Las Campanas was very good -- we both enjoyed our entrees. The complimentary chips and salsa were obviously freshly made and excellent.
Clearly, Las Campanas is all about margaritas and tequila -- both favorites of ours but on the night we visited it was almost 100 degrees outdoors (the only seating available because of the pandemic) -- and no fans or misters -- so nothing sounded better than an ice-cold beer. They were "out" of the Number One best selling Mexican import. Also the #2 and #3. I finally settled on a domestic brand which arrived in the bottle -- no offer of a glass. We drank them gladly because they took almost 30 minutes to arrive!
The restaurant didn't seem unusually busy -- tables were appropriately spaced out and not all of them were full, so it would appear that they were simply understaffed.
Truthfully, it was an unpleasant experience from start to finish and we ate quickly and left.
Everything was great, the staff were professional, it's just that the outside temperature was 100 degrees. Maybe misters?
Some of the best chili verde I've ever eaten.
Service left something to be desired. Had to ask several times for missing food before we received. Drinks are overpriced but tasted good. Patio seating should have citronella candles or something to keep away the mosquitoes.
They should look into buying spices
Setting is gorgeous. Service was excellent. Food was DELICIOUS. Only downside, being outside, the flies were horrible, and mosquitoes were annoying. I understand they have no control over the flying critters. We will definitely be back. Love everything about The Mission Inn.
We had a wonderful dinner for our 45th anniversary loved the food
Great food and wonderful service. Enjoyed a night out !
Perfect dinner and atmosphere. Great evening. The service was superb. Highly recommend
The food was fantastic. Loved the atmosphere. Incredible margarita. Would go again.
We normally would give high reviews. This was the WORST experience we have ever had here. We always start with the table side guacamole. They can’t do that but they make it in the back. This was horrible. No taste. Had to ask for jalapeños and salt. Still very little taste. We shared the shrimp frajitas. Yuck. Shrimp was over cooked...shoe leather. Took 25 minutes to refill my iced tea. They need to improve their food.
It was a beautiful experience seeing the lights and delicious food
Great experience and amazing food as always. Felt very comfortable with the social distancing that is in place.
Very limited menu. Service very slow due to lack of personal.
We eat here often. We eat there in all types of clothing since we go at all seasons of the year. This time its been a while since we went but we always reserve on Open table.
The problem we had this time was either fleas or mosquitos. We sat near the pergola close to the aisle where people walk in towards the middle of the whole out door dining area. We were pretty itchy during our dinner to the point we had to leave our table faster than normal and not relax like we usually do with an extra coctail. We had to leave to walgreens to get anti itch cream. Today my wife went back to the drug store to get different medicines. Weve never been bit like that there or anywhere for that matter.
My wife had over 25 bites on her legs. Ididnt count mine but they still itch over 48 hours later. I have seen cats there before. Maybe the cats brought in fleas. I do know fleas love me and so do mosquitos. it could have been either. I dont rememeber the flying sounds of the mosquitos.
Either way service was good. we were a little inpatient because we wanted to leave because of the itching.
Any questions feel free to call me anytime. We will be back hopefully with pants and some OFF sprayed on us next time.
Picked wrong night for date night, too hot, no breeze.
Could not enjoy dining experience for this reason only.
Food was great as always.
Servers were hot and uncomfortable by looking at them wearing long sleeves, long pants and masks in very hot conditions. I will pick cooler weather next time.
Food was delicious. Service was wonderful. 10/10. Best margaritas in town for sure.
Our server was wonderful and the restaurant did an amazing job with cleanliness and social distancing! The patio is lovely, especially when the lights turn on. The open faced quesadilla with shrimp was awesome. The meat in the the carnitas and chicken enchiladas was over cooked (dry). The house margarita was good but skip the skinny margarita (way too much lime juice) and opt for tequila/soda/extra limes if that is your jam. We would go back again if we stayed at Mission Inn.
Been coming here for years but the service this time was awful. And this had nothing to do with being too busy or under staffed, all of our waiter's other tables were well taken care of, but we were neglected all night. It took forever to order and then equally as long to receive our food. When we needed something, he was nowhere to be found. We didn't order dessert because we didn't want to commit to another 30+ minutes! Very disappointed!
Another wonderful evening. They did a great job with social distancing, etc...
Food is good, service was slow and the flys were horrible. We have never had flys while eating there but it was bad this time.
Wonderful evening out and seriously the BEST Margarita ever! Get the house favorite, you won’t be sorry. EXCELLENT food and service. Socially spaced, we felt comfortable, safe and relaxed. Five stars!!
We were on a romantic date without our kids and we had a wonderful time! The ambience was great! Only suggestion: It was a little warm and outdoor ceiling fans would have been a nice touch. It was a little pricey but very nice! We will definitely be back!
With limited pandemic hours comes a limited menu. Very sad that they weren't serving their usually-yummy chile rellenos. I ordered the open-faced quesadilla instead, which was a bit disappointing. It sounded interesting with melted cheese, choice of meat, pesto and arugula, but it was just too different for my taste. My tablemates ordered carnitas & enchiladas and all were happy. The service was outstanding, and the ambience on a beautiful summer night couldn't be beat. Nicely set-up for social-distancing, I felt completely safe.
Great Ambiance, good food and service was excellent
