Las Brisas Southwest Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We ordered Filet Mignon and New York Strip. Both were served as requested. One was medium rare and the medium. They were both very tasty. The New York Strip had a grizzle fat strip running down the entire side of the cut. It was not edible. Chocolate molten cake with caramel ice cream was a really nice desert. Steaks were very good but a bit overpriced.
We went for a large family of 20+ for multiple birthdays. The table they had set up was not suitable for the eldest bday girl (age 77) and they moved us to another room with out any problem. Our waiter handled the unrelenting requests with a smile. We all enjoyed our meals and we were especially thankful we were all able to order off the main menu, rather than have a set menu, which is usually what happens to us bc are such a large group, Thank you for the wonderful evening, service and food!
We celebrated a college graduation at Las Brisas and found the food and service to be excellent. The menu has some interesting and unique steak preparations. The filet was extremely lean— very high quality cuts of beef and the lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. The ambiance is bright and airy, modern and overall classy. The staff was very friendly and service was efficient but not rushed.
Great waiter and the food was amazing. Since we had reservations, we wished we had a nice place to sit in the main restaurant instead of a table in a bare room facing the wall. We also were “shorted” a side because it was a “busy night” and the menu was downsized from the usual options. Unfortunately the price didn’t reflect the downsize. I’ve never heard of such a thing. I felt bad for the waiter who had to explain this ridiculous occurrence.
I expected the dining experience to be more quaint and personal. Our server spoke exceptionally low and FAST while the other server spoke extremely loud to her group of 10 men, and others.
I am not a seafood lover so the menu selection did not offer much selection for myself as far as an appetizer but the Steak I ordered was not impressive as the price would dictate. The truffle mashed potatoes were cool when served and the 3 small spears of asparagus were laughable.
It was not the dining experience that all the hype is about.
Food and service rivaled NYC, Dallas or Chicago!! Absolutely an amazing meal. It’s so nice to have a restaurant of this caliber in Lubbock Texas.
The food was nicely seasoned and not too salty. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive.
The restaurant was quiet but it was early on a week night.
I have dined at many of the finest steakhouses across the US and would rank the steak's at Las Brisas to be among the finest. That said, and in my opinion, what separates one steak house form another is typically not the steaks but the sides. Unfortunately I found the Las Brisas sides to be lacking in options and quality. The lobster mac and cheese was pushed, I believe, primarily for it's high price. The "brocottini" (perhaps mis-spelled) was tough and tasteless.I was surprised by no mushrooms but was pleased that our server made the effort to have a side prepared that was excellent.
All in all a pleasant experience and a good meal. It could be enhanced by a greater array of quality sides.
We’ve been to Las Brisas a number of times and it had always been excellent however this last
visit was off. The service was not up to par and we felt rushed by the waiter, even though the restaurant was not full. While the steaks were great and cooked as ordered the fish was subpar. Evidently the fish had either been frozen or microwave because it had to be cut with a knife. Hopefully our next visit will be back to what we’ve come to expect from a great restaurant.
