Las Brisas Ratings and Reviews
So I finally ate here for the first time. Was told not to expect much about the food it is more about the view . The boys working the valet were extremely polite . I wish I could say that much for the restaurant staff . Made a reservation A couple weeks in advance . When I arrived the hostess asked me if we would like to sit in the bar 😳. It was my mothers birthday and I told her that was not appropriate . The service was so slow it was ridiculous. You would think after letting them know it was our first time they would make sure to make your experience a good one . We even told them it was my moms birthday and they ignored that. Food was decent but for the amount of money we spent 350. Without tip for four I will go back to my favorite restaurant Mastros and get excellent service and better food for that matter.
We have dined at Las Brisas for many Years and have enjoyed the food an ambience..On this occasion My Husband was surprised to see that the Menu had changed and was different than on the Website. He was little upset because His favourite dish was not available. He mentioned this to the server who asked what it was and without any hesitation said He would ask the Chef for it . Our Daughter asked for it also. My Husband chose a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc which was very refreshing. The food was excellent and the dessert outstanding, a pastry basket of fruit. The Restaurant had been remodeled some time ago and was bright and modern looking. The noise level was raised by a party at a nearby table so that it was difficult to have a conversation. We recommend it without and have made a reservation for Our next visit.
Hadn't been to Las Brisas for quite a few years ~ and even longer since sitting inside. Everything looked fresh and new. Lovely sea colors and whites with nice artistry on the walls. A rather large and noisy table next to us for lunch... but they were just jovial and having a wonderful time so that's okay. Service was outstanding ~ seems like the servers are long time professionals who enjoy working there. All in all, a fantastic lunch and birthday celebration.
I was disappointed in the long wait time, the noise level was high, and there was a loud, very drunk very large man at the table behind us that no one had the courage to ask to leave. When food came, I'd ordered lobster tails that took along time to arrive and were overcooked. Although it was supposed to have a buerre blanc served with it, I received none. When I asked for it I received barely melted butter that was cool, as though it had been sitting for awhile. Servers were brusque and service was slow. It was very disappointing. I'd been there in years past and it was quite good. Sadly, this time it was unacceptable on all levels, esp for such an expensive place. We won't be dining there again.
It's been a couple years since I last enjoyed Las Brisas - one of my most favorite restaurants. For more than 30 years We've celebrated many a happy occasion here - from Friday night cocktails, to sunset gatherings, to Graduations, Birthdays and Retirement parties. We have a long history with this restaurant.
We always went there for the overall experience --consistently good service, ok food, and a killer view to make the event special and memorable. And we always knew that we were going to pay a little more for the location and the view -- that was completely expected and understood.
After Saturday's birthday dinner --- well let's just say that the formula is not quite the same -- still really good service, a new menu that still offers OK food, and still a killer view. What's changed is the huge pricing increase for food that is good -- but not particularly memorable. What is memorable is the sticker shock for the menu prices. I think we will need to find a new place to celebrate and create memories.
Beautiful views, great service (thanks, Brian!) tasty food, creative cocktails, capitalizes on all its assets. However parking is on opposite side of restaurant from front door. Expect a beautiful short walk overlooking spectacular ocean views, or drop off your party at front door and go around to park. This presented a potential small problem for my 91 year old mother. But the day was beautiful and we completed the walk without problem. It was just unanticipated.
Went to Las Brisas last Saturday night. We had friends in town from Seattle. We wanted something with waterfront seating and a great ambience for a fun evening. Las Brisas did not disappoint. The food was great. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to have. The food was fresh and delicious. Between the butterflied sea bass, the ceviche, lobster carbonara, and fried Oreos there was so much goodness on the table. I highly recommend the Pearl Margarita. It is a shaker and comes with about 3 Martini pours for $18 with top shelf tequila. You cannot beat the view and the food. Our new favorite spot in Laguna.
I am really loving the remodel, it's so pretty now. The menu really changed since the last time I was here (a long time ago) We weren't too excited about anything as we read the menu but placed our orders and took a chance and thankfully we were pleased with our meals. Still miss the former mexican food menu from the past but this was acceptable. Still a bit pricey for what you actually get, I had 2 enchiladas /rice/beans, hubby had a tostada salad with added crab, no drinks and the price with $10 valet was $63, The service was really good though.
We had made these reservations based on a friend who lives in the area. Thought it would be touristy but thank goodness it wasn’t!! It has just been renovated and the wine list is fabulous!
The menu is very modern Mexican and so creative!! No heavy sauces!!
Our waiter was Matt! Ask for him! He is the best! We will definitely be back again!!
Paid way too much for dried out seafood and didn't come out as discribed on the menus. Prior to remodel of the restaurant--the food was great and priced well. The atmosphere is way to bright white for evening dinning. Service was inattentive and poorly timed. People were friendly but unprofessional. The host cleaned off the table in front of us using a used napkin from another dirty table brushing everything on the floor. Our waiter kept telling us he would bring out rolls and more drinks but didn't, he was busy talking to another couple all evening. No acknowledgement of our 40th anniversary that I put on our reservation and verbally told the hostess.
Las Brisas used to be very good with a Mexican flare. Very little Mexican flare, but much higher end foods and prices to paid off the remodel.
