My son birthday, all good
Love the atmosphere and the service. We have never been to this restaurant and could not have been more pleased with the location and view and then to have delicious dinners, everything was wonderful.
Our dinners were delicious and our server, Yony, was very helpful and attentive to our needs! My husband had the lamb and I had the petite filet mignon. Excellent entrees!
We will certainly be back - looking forward to another visit! Thank you!!
It was my daughter‘s 16th birthday. It was a total disaster. What Mexican restaurant runs out of guacamole at 6 PM on a Sunday? Drinks were awful when they finally came after asking three times. Helpful tip for people considering this restaurant, if you want Mexican food at this Mexican restaurant you have to eat in the bar. You can’t have Mexican food at this Mexican restaurant in the dining room. No tacos no nachos nothing. Fish $40 entrees only in the dining room. Food was awful. Couldn’t get silverware or napkins until after we finished our appetizers. Never going back. Oh and they never did anything for my daughter’s birthday. Not even a candle. Made us wait 45 minutes for our reservations.
Service was exceptionally poor. Long wait time to even be greeted. Even longer to actually get requested water to table.
We were warned by two tables around us that service was bad but we decided to stay anyway. Wish we hadn’t.
Food wasn’t good especially for cost.
We won’t be back.
I've been going to Las Brisas over the past nearly 30 years. Service at the reception desk is lax. Its also confusing when you make an open table reservation, it does not cover the outside patio as its a different business and menu? I had to negotiate to receive the indoor menu on the patio. Las Brisas is not what it used to be.
Nice table, excellent service but a bit over priced. About $5.00 to 10.00 more per plate than competition. Otherwise had a great time.
The restaurant is beautiful, but the food descriptions weren’t what we received. They ran out of champagne during brunch. There were a whole lots of screw ups. Our server was very nice and did pay attention to us.
Amazing all around
Knowingly an expensive venue, but worth the expense.
Location and our server was great. The food was horrible. Two out of the three of us needed to send the food back because the potatoes were cold or eggs were way undercooked or the filet way over cooked. The table next to us had the same issue and sent their food back as well. At one point they ran out of champagne for the $15 bottomless mimosas and were serving splits which I guess isn’t so bad. The glasses they brought out were soaking wet and still had lipstick on one and food in the bottom of the other so I guess it was just rinse and repeat, disgusting! For $45 for the breakfast and a $15 add on for mimosas I would say you are paying for the view. Not the experience but remember from 15 years ago. So sad
The hostess was extremely rude, and disregarded my requests and said I needed a reservation even though I had one. She then proceeded to say she'd help me check on a table, when she came back she walked right by me and helped another guest instead. I'm not sure if it was a race thing (I am Hispanic) or just a ignorant thing. Either way, she made it extremely uncomfortable to be a guest at this restaurant after that initial treatment. The rest of the staff wasn't as bad as her. Our waiter felt the need to emphasize the "extra charge" on certain items, because evidently I can't read for myself. Lastly, I got my food about 10 minutes before my husband did. By the time he was served, my food was cold. We will not be visiting this establishment again, next time I'd rather go to McDonald's.
Terrible, had to wait 45 mins even though I had a reservation. The ruined my wife’s dinner, the shrimp tampiqueno was horrible, spicy beyond belief, almost as if they ran out of ingredients and decided to dump a whole lot of chili powder on top.
We had reservations and they seated us 30 mins after our set time. It was a mad house and the management was so poor. No one knew what was going on and they were extremely unorganized. It ruined the mood from the moment we stepped inside. They weren’t even nice about it. Also, the crowd was so beach casual and felt cheap. People were in pajamas and others were in flip flops on a Saturday night for dinner. Maybe ok for a casual brunch, definitely not a date night.
Nice place next time will ask for a window seat and a quieter area
Great food. Great table service. I had 5:30 reservations but wasn't seated until 5:50 so not great. The hostess could have been friendlier. In the middle of our dinner, a guest stood up and proceeded to sing very loudly and staff did not approach to control the situation and the overall noise level was higher than expected. But generally speaking it was a good experience.
We love Las Brisbas we will come back....next to the window...always
The menu has changed - no fruit margaritas, limited menu choices, limited appetizers - overpriced for what it is
Had a great meal and the view of the ocean out the window was wonderful! Had a great waiter and a nice conversation with one of the managers when he came to our table to check on everything for us.
We had a reservation at 2:30 for brunch. Was seated promptly. 25 minutes later no one approached us. When inquired, we were told to wait for dinner menu as brunch stoos at 2:30. So that needs to be corrected and communicated. Dinner (at 3:10 😩) was ordered (Brunch is 3 course prix fixed at $45, dinner entrees start at about that) caesar salad arrived ($12) at 3:22. Just ok. Grocery store quality. Then the lobster tails ($55) and chargrilled ribeye arrived($50?) They need to clean their grill. Steak was so charred but we were starving. (3:52 when entree arrived) lobster had to be sent back as it could not be cut with a steak knife. Needs a Gordon Ramsey visit!
Great price for brunch, amazing service and if possible even better food. Loved our entire experience. I also appreciated that they had valet so I didn’t have to deal with parking, I could drop the car and go. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area. Lobster enchiladas were out of this world.
Fantastic brunch- beautiful view. Our waiter was amazing and catered to our every need.
Weekend brunch pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Make reservations to eat inside. you can request a window table. Outside is no reservations.
You pay a lot for the view. The food is mediocre. The ingredients did not seem fresh to me. When I was asked by wait staff if there was anything wrong with my lobster, I explained it seemed very rubbery. They replaced it and I had the same issue. They offered something different and I ordered an Asparagus and Goat Cheese Omelet. They forgot the goat cheese and the eggs were overcooked. We drove an hour to get to this highly recommended restaurant and over $100 later for me and my husband to eat brunch I was disappointed. The view is breathtaking. Go for that.
We were seated late, food was very slow coming out, and staff didn;t seem to care much.
Worst. Experience. Ever.
Granted, it was Valentine's Day, and I know they were super busy, but the whole experience just ruined the night.
Reservations? M'eh, go wait over there for 30 mins.
Prix Fixe? Got it... but $125 for horrible food? Appetizer-Shot glass of gazpacho that was awful. Scallops-Burnt on the outside, raw on the inside. The filet mignon was COLD and TWO TINY SLICES. Champagne? Loved to have some, but the waitress kept taking our glasses away? Dessert? Tres Leches?
Nope, more like Tres Regrets. WTF?
Service? - God, somebody hates their job. EVERY other server was on the ball, except for ours. Thanks for nothing Jessica!
More Waiting? Multi course meals are great, unless you have to wait 20 Minutes for each course. Restaurant CLOSED before we got our 3rd course.
Wanna speak to the manager? Ever hear of Where's Waldo?
I think we would have had a better experience with a couple of Subway sandwiches and a 6 pack of crappy beer at the public gazebo just outside.
What happened to you Las Brisas? You used to be a top contender... Not only have you gone so far downhill, you're actually digging a hole to the core of the earth.
Thanks to Las Brisas we had the worst Valentines day ever! If it was possible I would have given them zero stars.
They had a fixed menu for the day which is fine, it also means most of the food (cold courses) are ready to serve. The fixed menu was $125 per person and it was the worst food and service I had ever spent money on.
It is understandable that the service would be a liittle slower than usual but in this case it was not moving at all. Our reservation was at 8pm by 9:15pm we were only on second course even tough we asked several times to go faster.
I asked the server one last time to go faster and she said “they told us to go slow but I will tell them to go faster”. This was 15 minutes before our server finally realized we were really upset she asked a manager to come and talk to us. (Still no 3rd course by the way) I wish the manager Skye did not approach us since he has no idea how to manage an upset client yet he is supposed to manage a restaurant..
Instead of giving us an apology he very rudely said this is Valentines day you cannot expect us to go fast. Whaaat? We are the clients we can surely ask to go faster.
I should point out that the other people were unhappy as well. The tables next to us were asking each other when they arrived and how slow the service was and how unhappy they were as well.
At our boiling point the 3rd and 4th course magically arrived within minutes. We asked for the check which also arrived promptly with rude faces and without any apology whatsoever we left Las Brisass very unhappy.
I warn all of you if it is a special day for you DO NOT go to this place where they will surely make you regret your decision.
Worst valentine experience.
1. They have a fixed menu for valentine's day, which was fine. However, they did not make it clear when booking or on website. We understand and decided to stay.
2. Service was terrible. When asked if we have options of regular diner menu, the server(I think his name is Mike) said: If you don't like the fixed menu, go to the patio. He was also very impatience when asked about the items on the menu. He had an attitude throughout the whole time during our dinner. Food was slow and wrong items served a couple of times. Toward the end, he even disappeared.
3. Food was ok but not got messed up a few times.
4. Staff was not responding to messages. After having a bad time, we still wanted to communicate with the staff before writing a bad review. I sent a message through their contact page on the website. No response at all.
I will not come back again even though the location is great.
Food was good. A tad bit expensive for the quality. Table was right under an a/c vent so it was chilly. Waiter was less than enthusiastic. Overall, I would say it was an ok experience.
We had a group of 7 for Valentine’s Day evening Great table, great service, great food. We have been here many times and it’s consistently awesome.
No mention of a pre fix menu on Valentine’s Day when booking so we had already had apps in the bar and didn’t need a 5 course meal . We sat at our table and they were not accommodating at all even given the situation. We had to go back outside and sit on the freezing cold patio with a very limited patio menu. We were very disappointed
We thought we were reserving a table for a party of 6 in the main dining room. It ended up being a pre-fix menu for valentines so got the bar menu outside which was ok. The service was slow and they brought my son the wrong item said they didn’t have what he had ordered. .The nachos were fair not much to them and it was pricey for the quality of food. The best part was the ocean view which did not disappoint!!
I can’t complain about anything except we were seated around very small children who were screaming and crying through our dinner. I think if all of us are willing to pay a good amount of money, we should not have to endure that. Perhaps you can seat parents with small children in a separate room.
Convenient $10 valet parking on premises. Beautiful views of ocean. Very clean bathrooms. Restaurant interior clean and spacious. Waiters and servers very attentive and professional. Food was delicious and great presentation. Cocktail drinks well made.
On the whole, Las Brisas is a delightful place to dine. The view of the ocean is just spectacular. The noise level is not excessive and the food is very good. I think the food is on the pricey side, however. The service was very good and I look forward to going there again in the near future.
The service was terrible. Prices are ridiculous. Had to get the waitress to take our order outside where several people were frustrated.
1. Side guc
2. Beans and rice
3. Carne Asada tocos (3) small rice and beans
4. One non-ac beer
5. One Marquita
Been going here since it was Victor Hugo's. Great meeting place as it's equal distance from LA and San Diego. Traffic is still awful on the coast route
This is a decent restaurant in a fabulous setting. Great views, great service, just ok food. Food came out Luke warm, not hot. Caesar salad had very light dressing ( as in none) . Very expensive for just ok food.
Always love the food but my margarita was a few sips for $15 and our dinner was greasy....Ambiance is always nice and the servers were great.....until the end when my server disappeared. I also canceled my glass of wine as it appeared after we had finished our dinner
Incredible service. Great view.
Just wish the wine list was more extensive.
Wines were limited and way overpriced.
