Ask for Enrique he was the best!!
Juan our server was outstanding! Keep up with us all the time asking us about our food, drinks...Excellent service!!!
Isabel our waiter was really helpful by showing us different alternatives for the food. She explained everything really well and was always courteous during our dining experience at Las Alamedas.
When looking for an authentic Mexican flare with true to your roots food, Las Alamedas is the place to go in Katy!
This place is usually our go to for a fancy Mexican restaurant but this time we think they changed management or something went wrong because service was so slow. It took forever for us to get a waitress and get our drinks. The lights flickered and we had to wait for the computers to get back on so we had to wait for like 15 minutes for our check. It was a disaster.
Excellent, great service , excellent service staff
My girlfriend and I decided to make a last minute Valentines Dinner reservation. So we decided on this restaurant.
However, into my queso dip I came across a rusted old piece of Coupling (Bolt) in the dip. The General Manager came by and apologized profusely and told me it came from one of their kitchen appliances.
Anyhow, I wasn't mad just shocked. Nevertheless, the Manager said the food and drinks were all taken care off, which was the least they could do. Even though I did request that it was okay. It happens, and I would be more than happy to pay half. Of course he declined. So instead, we gave the waiter a generous tip.
Although, the food quality was rather good. I still had that unpleasant rust taste in my mouth, for a few hours, that made my overall experience not so good.
Needless to say, after my incident. I'm more than confident that Management will do a thorough quality check on their kitchen equipment to prevent this from happening to anyone else.
Will I go there again?. I don't know. I'm in two minds if I will or will not go again. Stay tuned!
We have eaten here several times, and have always enjoyed it. My husband had salmon, I had red fish, and our son had the paella. We all enjoyed our food. My only complaint is that the margarita was not the best. It was somewhat bland.
When the weather is great, service on the patio is a must! Enjoying the weather, food, and drinks...Las Alamedas takes care of it all!
Nice atmosphere to have lunch with my friends.
All of us have Ceylon rice. We have never seen green rice before. Sorry to say none of us liked it so we left it on our plates. I did ask the waiter now it was made. Prefer white rice or friend rice.
Great place to find a NJ bagel with cream cheese and lox in a Spanish restaurant in Katy, TX!
Will come back to try the bananas foster breakfast item.
Waiter was wonderful and the place is lovely---thought they only had Mexican food--was glad to see some good alternates on the menu.
Always good...never a disappointment ... courteous and attentive service..
Beautiful restaurant with great architecture, ideal for romantic and special occasion/anniversary dining. Wife and I loved the ambiance and the overall mood of the venue which was well complimented by some very delicious food. Highly recommended!
Nice evening for patio dining!
We celebrated our anniversary and the table and the food was excellent and a very special thanks to our host whose name was Flavio for an outstanding job at making us feel comfortable and for excellent conversation and taking care of us in every way possible thus earning a 30% tip.
He is the best waiter That me and my wife have ever had and he deserves a lot of praise for being so polite and doing what every business hopes there employees do...... Thank you and Thank Flavio for a job well done and we intend on spreading the news and returning often.
I made the reservation and we I arrived they said me that the only table available was close to the kitchen door; how if I did the reservation? when they saw that I was disappointment, they offered a good table. The place is nice, the food is good but the services is very poor. We asked for the drinks first but first arrived the food that the drinks... no good experience for us.
Met a girlfriend. Enjoyed our food and cocktails. Good service. Sat in bar area.
The food is great as always. The wait staff, Philip, is an excellent server.
Ambiance is great. Sat at a round table so it was great to see everyone.
Delicious Chicken Sarape. Chicken was thin as paper
Las Alamedas has become one of our favorite restaurants, essentially because they have authentic Mexican dishes, but they also do enough of other things to make it friendly for folks who are not into that, and then they also do everything else mostly right (drinks, service, etc.). The menu changes from time to time, which is a very good thing, except that they no longer offer the Baby Back Ribs: I loved how they were prepared -- better than most "BBQ" restaurants and certainly way better than Outback at its best (whose own quality has gone way down). But other good dishes have taken their place. Between the two of us and various friends we have met there, I've either seen or tasted 80% of all menu items. Only one was not impressive, but the person who ordered it thought it was delightful. So, YMMV, but it's more likely that you'll love this place than hate it. Note that this is NOT a Tex-Mex restaurant; if that's what you're looking for, look elsewhere. They still offer a couple of entrees with (Red) Snapper, and both are absolutely delicious (and as good as at any high end restaurant in Mexico, or New Orleans, LA). I hope they never disappear from the menu, but their fish entrees do come and go. We've tried the special items not on the regular menu on occasion when they sounded good, and were never disappointed. The only problem with this restaurant is my bad habit of ordering the same thing time after time because I know how good it will be. But then there's something to say for consistency.
My wife and I enjoy Fajitas and Margaritas on the patio at Las Alamedas almost year-round (since the patio is covered and somewhat climate controlled). When we are trying to decide where to go for lunch or dinner, usually the conversation ends by one of us saying, "Well, we can always go to Las Alamedas". It's also great for "people watching" while dining on the patio.
I miss the old building, that is hard to replicate, the food was good but I must say that as a person who's lived in Spain, the paella fell short of my expectations.
The empanadas were great and the margaritas were exceptional
Tables crowded in the dining room. Very loud. Slow service. Underwhelming food.
Traditional tex mex but with bright, fresh ingredients. The salsa they serve with the chips is so fresh and flavorful. Good selection of soups.
This was our first visit to Las Alamedas. Thanks to our waiter for the great food advice...we made a great selection.
Service and fajitas for two were good, but no cheese included at all, as described on menu. Took a good five minutes & lots of ignored hand waving to obtain cheese! Atmosphere was great, as always, for conversation & no rushing through.
We frequent this place for the ceviche, which is the best we've found in Houston. The rest of the food is so-so. Our usual waiter always does a great job. The guy we had this last visit was a little annoying, and he didn't understand many of our requests. When you check in, be sure and tell the hostess that she needs to confirm your reservation that was made through Open Table. This last trip was the third time they failed to log us in as showing up. Also, just in case, save your receipt so you can prove you went and earn your points.
The air conditioning temperature was too cold, therefore its not pleasant to have the air blowing directly to our table, Too cold.
The ambiance and the margaritas were wonderful! Sadly, the food was not good. It was eatable but so very bland. The queso tasted like a cheap velveeta melt with some pico thrown on top. I had the Chicken enchiladas with green sauce and it was just boring. The taste wasn't awful there just wasn't anything to it. The other two entrees on the table were crispy tacos and beef enchiladas which were also just "blah" as my mother in law said.
We all had a margarita and they were delicious. I would still try the Sunday brunch just to check it out. The service was ok although he forgot our queso, but he was honest and didn't blame it on the kitchen. (17 years of service industry here, I know how things work) It was easy to see that he was very busy and maybe the restaurant was understaffed. I mentioned to my husband that I might stop in with the girls for a margarita on the patio with chips and guac but that's probably it. I wouldn't spend the money for something that just isn't worth it.
Too bad because the location is perfect and the restaurant itself is very pretty.
This is our go-to restaurant when we are in the mood for fajitas, margaritas and outside seating. All three are outstanding.
We think that the restaurant has repeat value for its food and ambiance. The service was slightly poor. Our server vanished and other servers took over. So, all in all, the job got done and the food was amazing.
The ceviche is the best in town!
This is the second time we've eaten here, not as impressed this time. Attempts to use a coupon from their email club, but the server refused, instead insisting I had to print it. Simple enough. My wife's fish tacos were decent, my steak fajitas on the other hand were nothing to write home about. The meat was overcooked and tough/dry, not to mention, no flavor. For the prices here, we can easily go somewhere more upscale and get a much better meal.
Our server, Tony, was so attentive with a great sense of humor. He made our evening so much better.
We each had different entrees and they were all delicious and not greasy.
We will be adding this restaurant to our favorites list.
Lovely ambiance. Great food selection. Loved my drinks, classic mojito and margarita!
As a frequent visitor of the original Las Alamedas Restaurant which was located on I-10 near Voss, I was very disappointed in the new Las Alamedas located at LaCenterra in Katy, TX. Gone is the beautiful ambience of the original restaurant. The food doesn't even seem to be as good. There are a few unique dishes still on the menu, but the seasonings seem to be different and not nearly as tasty as I remember. The house margarita was still good, but without the lovely views of the original restaurant and the wonderful larger courtyard-like bar area this restaurant is mediocre at best. The waiters don't even wear the lovely silver adorned trousers that they wore at the original restaurant. In my opinion, this restaurant should not even call itself Las Alamedas as it is nothing like the one that I have such wonderful memories of. Very sad !
This is a well managed restaurant with a varied menu. Not the typical Tex-Mex, but a nice place to also enjoy some delicious and real Mexican regional cuisine.
We went o n a date night for the Don Julio pairing dinner - 4 course meal with different cocktails made with Don Julio Tequila. It was an gastronomic experience of unbeleivable proportions. It allowed us to experience cocktails that you would normally not associate with tequila as well as food pairings that tok your taste buds to a ifferent level. the Don Julio marketing rep as well as the hostess were very well informed about the pairings. A great educational experience.
Great real Mexican food on the menu beside the typical Tex-Mex. Always very good margaritas and good quality service.
Brunch on weekends is very good!
