Larsen's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The food was amazing- the steak was really delicious as were all the sides. The service was top-notch our server was polite and very knowledgeable. The menu is quite pricey but worth it if you want to splurge. Delicious food great atmosphere but definitely a special occasion destination as it’s very expensive. Expense account or special occasion type restaurant
Always a good experience at Larsens. This was a couple evenings before Thanksgiving, so it was especially quiet, but we still were entertained by the staff.
Have been coming here since they opened and the quality of everything has been maintained and even gotten better over time.
Wish it was a little more reasonable price wise, but you absolutely get what you pay for here. Worth every penny, I’d just like to go more often. LOL
Food is very good as usual and nice ambiance. Two areas of correction:
1. Pricing is steep not just for dinner as many steak houses are, but also for lunch which is not often the case. Davenports, with former Larsen's staff is new restaurant across the street that has more selections and much better pricing. REDUCE YOUR PRICING AT LEAST FOR LUNCH AND OFFER SOME SPECIAL OPTIONS !!! If you can do it in your Simi location you can do it in Encino.
2. Pay for the damned parking. While you take care of a portion of it, most business lunches take longer and even though it is only a few bucks, it is cheap to not cover it in a high end restaurant.
There was something very off about the food. First of all, the main courses arrived and we had to ask about the sides. One side showed up and then we asked about the other. Someone came by and said they were remaking it because it did not come out right. He said that it would be out soon and it would be on him, however it was never taken off the bill. It showed up about half way through our meal. One of us ordered the rack of lamb, it was so disappointing that he only ate a few pieces. He said for $65 he really expected it to be great, it was not. For a simple meal for 3 people the bill was over $300 (with only one bar drink). The money was not the issue, it was the food and the total experience. We have been to Larsen's several times before, not sure we will be returning.
Steak and accompanied sides were absolutely 5 Star...waiter was friendly, extremely knowledgeable in regards to the menu, professional and helpful, along with assisting self. The ambience of the restaurant is quite chic but a little dark - but great if you are having a romantic dinner!! Restaurant is not inexpensive, but the food is perfect and the service great, so worth the "extra" expense.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure this establishment knows how to cook a steak. I got the 12oz filet medium-rare, and it was cooked incorrectly both times. The first time, it was cooked beyond well-done, with a sliver of red on the inside. The steak they brought next was barely cooked at all. Also, my fiancee's steak, which was not sent back, had no uniformity throughout the cut.
I'm not trying to be hyper-critical, but I grill steaks consistently, and every one of them has come out better than what I received at this steakhouse. In my opinion, you're better off going to Bristol Farms, picking up some high quality steaks, and doing it yourself if you can. You'll save loads of money, and get what you want.
We brought my in-laws and parents to the location in Encino. The waiter was fantastic. Very attentive and eager to ensure our dining experience was a positive one. My steak was excellent, but the Dover sole with crab tasted like it came out of a box. The salmon my mother ordered was under-cooked and slimy in the center. We were also seated in front of the piano. Not good for the older crowd who couldn't hear. When asked if we could move, I was told no. The next table over stayed empty the whole time. All in all, not worth the price, but fine for a corporate dinner with a client that one could expense back.
My wife and I had an outstanding dinner at Larsen's! We started with the seafood tower & then my New York steak while my wife had bone -in Rib Eye. Cooked to perfection! Outstanding service by Kent, Harry, Joe and Tony! George at the piano made the evening perfect! Please give Larsen's a try...you won't regret it!
This is not an inexpensive restaurant but as it is said, you get what you pay for. Everything from the salad, bread and sides to the ribeye were perfect. Freshly made to order and nothing was over seasoned or overcooked. Well worth the cost. Also a great wine selection by the glass!
Delicious food combined with impeccable service made for a perfect lunch experience. Filet mignon and prime rib sandwiches were pronounced unusually delicious, as was a stuffed chicken breast. Sides of creamed spinach and creamed corn were extravagantly priced, but excellent. Mounds of crispy fries and mashed potato sides went over well, too. Look forward to returning.
My husband and I loved our experience at Larsen's. The service from the moment we arrived was excellent. Very friendly wait staff.
The food was absolutely delicious!! We both ordered the rib eye steaks and had the lobster mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Perfect!!
They also gave us a free chocolate dessert because it was my husband's birthday.
We had the patio all to ourselves, which was perfect for a warm summer night.
We will definitely make Larsen's a go-to spot for special occasion dinners.
This is the first time I was not completely satisfied with the promptness of receiving our meal. Usually I get in, they are very attentive, we are served, and we are out in a reasonable time. Jay was very nice, but I believe you may have been shorthanded this date. Nonetheless, I will still recommend and visit Larsens. One time won't ruin it for me.
First time here. Kind of hidden. In a Mall of mixed stores. We had 11:30Am Lunch. Pretty empty at that time, especially for a Friday. Was quickly greeted and seated. Server immediately came over provided food and drink menu. Wine selection at the time was sparse. Ran out. Kind of a precursor of meal. Overall, food was okay.
While Larsen's is a steakhouse, and a very good one, they do a great job with seafood as well. I had the small aged filet, and it was perfectly cooked medium rare, as ordered. My co-diner had the salmon and it, too, was as ordered. The broccoli and the baked potato were as ordered, too. A really fine restaurant, with excellent food and service, expensive, but worth it.
We went to Larsen's on the spur of the moment. We had not been there in several years, and now wonder why! Everything was top rate, from appetizers (mine was burrata/tomato; probably the best I've ever had), to my dinner (sauteed salmon with duck sauce - very unusual) Their bread is excellent as well, and left no room for dessert. Other great entrees in our party were the large 18 oz ribeye with bone in and the filet of sole oscar. This is now one of our favorite restaurants!
