Sun - Mon 5:00PM - 9:00PM
Unfortunately, the night we were there a LOUD party of six were at a table next to us. I got the impression that they are "regulars" there, who were extraordinarily catered to by the waitstaff.
KIND OF A ROUGH START, GETTING OUR FIRST DRINK WAS LIKE HAVING TO WIN A CHALLENGE ON SURVIVOR. MY JACK AND COKE WAS MADE WITH DIET COKE AND AFTER I TOLD THE WAITRESS WHE BROUGHT ANOTHER ONE (BUT STILL CHARGED ME FOR THE FIRST).
BROUGHT A NICE BOTTLE OF WINE WITH ME, HOWEVER THEY OPENED IT IN THE BACK WHICH WAS SURPRISING, IT HAS NOT HAPPENED BEFORE. AFTER WAITING 35 MINUTES TO ORDER I FINALLY HAD TO SEE THE HOSTESS AND ASKED HER TO PLEASE SALVAGE MY EVENING AND ASK THE STAFF TO GIVE US SOME ATTENTION. FINALLY STARTED GETTING SOME SERVICE. IT ALL SURPRISED ME AS IT WAS NOT THAT BUSY AND WE WERE ONE OF THE LAST TABLES TO CLOSE THE PLACE. BUT, THIS REVIEW ASKED ME IF I WOULD RECOMMEND, YES, WHY, BECAUSE THE FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD, THE PORTERHOUSE FOR TWO, WAS PREPARED VERY WELL, THE MAC & CHEESE WITH BACON WAS ONE OF THE BEST I EVER TASTED, THE CREAMED CORN WAS JUST OKAY, AND THE DESERT LIST WASNT EXCITING. SO YES I WOULD GO BACK FOR A SECOND TRY IN THE HOPES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE BETTER AND IF A COUPLE WHO IS SPENDING ABOUT $250 FOR DINNER, MANAGER SHOULD HAVE REMOVED THE DRINK MADE IMPROPERLY OFF THE BILL AND PERHAPS COMPED THE CORKAGE FEE FOR HAVING TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR TO ACTUALLY BE FED.
We love Larsons! The service, food and ambience terrific
We have eaten here many times and always had good food and good service.
From the minute we walked in the smell of Ajax or some sort of cleaning product was very strong. The restaurant was not full...we were a party of 7 and they had a few large tables available but they sat us at one right next to the kitchen. I didn’t ask to move because I thought the other tables might be reserved as well...nobody else came in after us...we were defiantly the last seating.
The waiter was very nice. Took our order in a timely manner...then it was the waiting game...finally bread...forever to get our appetizers...and then FOREVER to get our main courses ...it was ridiculous...I can’t imagine what the issue was as the place wasn’t busy!!!!
I had ordered my Cesar salad to be served with my main course...when it came out it was soooo soggy and drenched in dressing...I had ordered easy dressing...like it had been made to be served as an appetizer and left sitting in the kitchen until the mains were served...normally I would have sent it back but by this point it was so late and I was sick of waiting!
I literally took one bite of my dinner and had them pack the rest of the food up...it was after 10!! Our Rez was at 7:30!!!!!! We were the last people in the place!
We were so disappointed that it will be some time before we got back.
Very disappointing. Food was mediocre. Started with shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were impressive in size but hard to chew.Ordered lobster tails and steak. Lobster was salty and chewy. Didn't finish eating it. Steak was ok.
Music and service were pleasant. The worst was the cigar smoke that seemed to come in from the outside lounge when the door opened which was frequently. It was like dining in a smoky bar.didnt know they were allowed to smoke so close to dining area. It was a pricey meal and very disappointing. Would not recommend it.
Wonderful dinner, as always, made even better by the superb service provided by Stacey!
Recently enjoyed "date night" here with my husband. Larsen's is a neighborhood gem! The bartenders mix a great cocktail and the wait staff is warm and friendly. They make every night - whether it is an ordinary dinner or a celebration - a special occasion. Already looking forward to my next visit.
One of the best steaks in a long time. Very attentive service. Nice live piano in background. Not cheap but outstanding steak isn't cheap!
Good Food, Good Service, Nice Atmosphere. Worth a visit.
For a steakhouse chain it wasn't too bad. Service was good and the food was above average.
Food delivery and clearing up could be better. Oysters were below par.
We had s great meal and great service.
We were in s booth which was especially nice.
It was a very nice evening for us to dine at Larsen's as we were celebrating our 2 year anniversary. We enjoyed the meal but wish I was more familiar with the menu.
When our meal came to a conclusion we received a little cake and 2 candles. This was the best part of the evening and made us feel special.
We loved the food, but the fillets are way overpriced; at least $12 more per filet than Mastros. Also, there was a large party next to us & they were loud & standing right over our table for the majority of our meal, which was unfortunate & put a damper on our evening!
We came and had a lovely birthday celebration
Service and food were excellent
Was great just didn’t like the shopping center. Was a great place in crappy shopping center/outdoor mall.
Lovely ... enjoyed everything
Lovely ambiance, excellent service, delicious food. It was my sons birthday celebration and it was perfect. I am from Chicago & l think it is the best steakhouse I have ever been to. Definitely plan to return on future visits.
Met a friend for Dinner. Were seated immediately. The wait staff was good, I wish she would have offered a coffee refill and that the butter cake tasted better. Great place, highly recommend.
Good, great quality food
Larsens Encino is always great for dining. Waiting staff is very professional.
We love Larsons! Quiet, great service, food delicious.
I'm giving Larsen's the benefit of the doubt here that our experience is not the norm.
The oysters I ordered were of decent quality but whoever is shucking them left lots of shell pieces inside and it really ruined the enjoyment of eating them, 5 of the 6 oysters I had to remove large pieces of shell before swallowing... oysters should be clean, fresh and slide very easily... or else why eat them raw, right? We let the waiter and the manager know and they were sincerely concerned about it.
Our cocktails were a mess, we ordered a Tequila Sunrise and Gin/Tonic they were both so strong you couldn't even taste the mixers. Sent my T&T back because the tonic was completely flat. The mgr was quick to replace it but even the next was so strong I couldn't finish it and I can drink 3 T&T's with dinner easily. The 2nd Tequila Sunrise was made with Grapefruit juice instead of OJ and I don't think it even had the signature grenadine float that makes the darn drink(!) so that was removed from our bill --without question.
The steaks (14oz bone-in Fillet & 8oz Fillet were both quite good but jeez chef, learn how to watch your meat temps... I know steaks and the 14oz I ordered 'medium' but came Medium rare to rare -- I was hungry so I ate it. The 8oz was ordered Medium was nicely done.
The big surprise entree ordered was for my wife -- Purple Cauliflower Steak... delicious! Brussel Sprouts were very good.
Ambiance is very nice with the piano bar but it competes with the bar noise so I wouldn't consider this the place for a romantic dinner
The service was very good and both our waiter (Joe- very professional, he even pulled out a table crumber to clean our tablecloth ... that was a nice old-school surprise and the GM (also Joe I believe) were sincerely concerned that we should come back but his reply about the heavy-handed drinks was surprising to me, he
I might return, but if I do I just might try their Woodland Hills location before going back to Encino.
Just a nice dinner out with my best lady. Mikki the waitress was perfect. Never intruding but there when you needed something. Great ambiance and flavors were good. We will come again.
I booked this place on accident and I got burned bad for it. I had meant to book it for the Topanga location which I have been to and have had a great experience-Encino, not so much.
For Valentine's some genius decided to layout some tea tables . I'm guessing this was done for purposes of revenue .
My waiter seemed like he would have been great at serving us but I told him, I couldn't sit at That table. Think about it. Yoiur steaks wouldn't fit on it with drinks , appetizers etc. So we asked if we could sit at the bar. This wasn't an issue so much but the bar tender is busy and this place had 3 hosts and a silvertop supervising them for absolutely no reason. This guy walks around doing absolutely nothing but crossing his arms and pretending to look concerned or upset. Meanwhile, I later find out the GM is running food which i guess is cool but don't you think with 3 people hosting not sitting anyone plus one geriatric supervising them you'd need a reorganization of the staff. In addition they missed parts of the order. Those "parts" were comped since they forgot but I assumed it would have been comped anyway because the kitchen rushed the order and forgot to add seasoning to it.
The only great thing here which is what I thought was great at the Topanga location was the steak and the lobster mash which was perfect. The piano player was also excellent but the service and the staff have left much to be desired.
I probably won't make the same mistake going to this location do my because of my experience here
Love the romantic ambiance! Some of the tables the seat 2 are a bit small, but if you dont mind being that intimate then it works!
We came in for lunch to celebrate Valentine's Day. Service was great and food was served quickly after we placed our food selection.
Excellent pre-Valentine dinner. Wish I saved room for dessert! Delicious Pretty in Pink cocktail.
Overall great experience. My wife's filet was undercooked and we had to send it back to get cooked more. We also found ourselves looking for our waiter more often than we like too.
Overall good but could have been better.
We waited over half hour past our reservation time and the meal felt really slow.
Stacy our server was epic. The steaks were great, although if you ask for medium rare, I would say it’s closer to rare, but still very tasty!
Our meal was delicious and the service by Kent was exceptional. The Manager, Harry was wonderful as well. 2 steaks were not cooked to our liking - Harry immediately took them to the kitchen (excellent customer service) and when they came back to us they were PERFECT!!! The prices prohibit us from dining there regularly; however it was definitely worth it for a special occasion.
The steak was great (porterhouse for two, cooked to perfection!) service was good although the noise level was "energetic".
I like this restaurant...made the reservation and know they have live piano. This is a business meal and told them so...they said it would be quiet because there would not be many people in during the evening and that there would not be live music....wrong - wrong - wrong. Piano is so loud on top of the piped in music...cannot hear what people are saying at the table right beside you. I hate that...I would rather our voices be the ambient noise. Great food and service...its a shame.
Price comparison similar to Morton's Steakhouse. I would rather drive to Woodland Hills for better quality for the same price at Morton's. Large portions, nice decor, and good service does not make up for the quality of food being underwhelming.
Pricey but very good
Very rude manager. Lost me. Would not go
back. The food is disappointing. As was the manager!!!
It took us a while to get out drinks but the steak was superb and our server Jamie was awesome. It’s pricey
The food was fabulous and the service great, thanks Micki. Brought a friend from out of town for a birthday celebration and she loved it. We will be back. Thanks!
Larsen's is a high-end, chain steakhouse. We gave it a try because I had bought a couple of their $50 gift cards at Costco. All in all it was a very good experience. As you would expect with a steakhouse the room is highlighted with dark wood, comfortable booths and a lively bar. What is a pleasant change from a lot of other steakhouses is that instead of a windowless cave, Larsen's has large windows in the dining room giving it a lighter, airier feeling. Our server, Micki, was delightful, helpful and attentive. We started with cocktails and my martini was enormous and delicious and my wife, who is not much of a cocktail person, was quite pleased with her tequila cocktail.
We split an appetizer of 3 bacon wrapped shrimp. They were huge and quite good. We also split an heirloom tomato salad. It was also huge and delicious. Are you sensing a theme? For our entree, Micki suggest the chateaubriand special which we also shared. It was cooked perfectly. We also ordered a side of creamed spinach. We each wanted a glass of red to go with the steak and the manager was kind enough to bring us tastings of 2 different red blends. The one we chose was an excellent match with our steak.
The portions are large. We brought home half the salad, half the steak and some of the spinach which gave us dinner for the next night.
If I had one hesitation I would say it is the cost. It is expensive. Our bill totaled $300. However, this was a special night, it was delicious and we got dinner for 2 nights out of it so I was quite satisfied.
