Larsen's Steakhouse - Valencia
Veal chop was returned, rancid smell, servers not aware who had which entrees
We returned to celebrate Carolyn's 21 years since she stopped smoking. Unfortunately, Sunday, January 19, 2020, was Richard Bokstrom was enjoying his day off. Our server, Ryan, was Excellent.
The food was excellent and the service was above board. Our waiter made the night special as we were celebrating my birthday.
Great food and service. A little expensive, but worth it in my mind.
Very mediocre steak. Brussels Sprouts were good, bread was good. Everything else was just ok. Not worth the price!
This was a great experience and well needed. We had a wonderful date night thanks to Jonathan, he was very attentive and helped us with a lot of questions!
Overpriced for the average food they serve. Coconut shrimp was horrible. Way overcooked and rubbery. Filet mignon cooked to the correct temperature but had no seasoning whatsoever. Frankly I can cook a better steak at home for a third of the price.
For a steakhouse, it entirely way too loud. It had a very Olive Garden feel about it for better or worse. The steaks were great, but for that price I think one expects better service and a nicer ambiance. Our glasses were empty more than they were full during the night.
We’ve been there many times. This time, portions were small, Mac & cheese was cold. Salad was frozen.
Incredible steakhouse! Thank you!
One of the better meals I have had in recent memory! Both my wife and I had seafood specials that we quite good! So it’s not always about the meat! Sides were all amazing and the service was as usual done by total pros!
It was perfect as normal. Thank you.
We waited 40 minutes with a reservation and that was too long. The food was good and our server was great
I have to say the food was delicious but I had a reservation I had made weeks in advance and I was set at a card table with fold out chairs. I did not appreciate that and for the money paid I would have expected more. I do understand it was new years eve but I have gone to many steak house and have never had a table as such. The service was not up to par as well as I had to request water and was never offered another drink. Next time I will request a booth if I ever decide to return.
Waited 45 mins past the reservation time. They overbooked for New Years Eve, and had several patrons waiting to be seated 45min-90mins past the time provided by either Open Table or direct reservation. Mgmt. required a credit card / $50 early cancellation fee, yet they could not honor the reservation. We left after waiting 45mins, and we’re told we would be seated at a fold out table with folding chairs in a make shift area. Apparently this experience is typical for holiday dinners (eg Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, NYE). Mgmt. was not visible nor available, and left two high school aged kids to manage all of the complaining patrons. We will not be returning.
Food was excellent, but you'd expect nothing less for the price you are paying. The only issue is the seating. The table they sat us at was equivalent to being seated a tiny card table with horrible folding chairs. It felt really uncomfortable. We felt like we were seated at the children's table at a holiday gathering. It took a couple times complaining before they were able to move us to a booth. After speaking with them it was discovered that many of their normal chairs were broken and they are trying to get corporate to pay for new ones. Meanwhile they have to seat people like this.
Reservation made for our 38th anniversary at 6:30, did not get seated until 7:15. Made our order but did not get our first course until 8. Had to wait another 30 minutes for our main course. My wife's sea bass dinner was barely edible, fish was overly sweetened, rice was like mush, vegetable was not warm. Garlic mashed potatoes were soupy. After complaining, the manager did comp the meal and give a gift card. Hard to understand how such a high priced establishment can serve such poor food. Waiter was great but did not have much with which to work.
Michelle is the best server. always great service
The service was excellent and the quality of food seems to have gotten better . It was a great night.
Extremely disappointed in Laresens. With a reservation, had to wait almost an hour. Gave our table to someone else. Reception staff was not knkowleagable. Seems very disoriented. Food was over priced and everything is ala carte and just average. Even the valet was $10! I would not recommend a Larsens to anyone and I will never go back to one. Truly a very unpleasant experience.
We had our Christmas dinner and it was beyond our expectations! The fish fillet topped with lobster was incredible! I definitely recommend for a romantic dinner with live music. Can't wait to come back soon!
We had a reservation at 4pm and still had to wait 30 minutes.
Seated in beach chairs - not very comfortable. All the other chairs were large and cushy.
Were told our table would be in a quiet area - NOT so - right next to the kitchen - NOISY!!
2 empty booths available - we were told those were for VIP customers only - Rude!!
These same booths were empty for our entire meal.
Food was good - not outstanding!!
Won't be back and won't recommend!!
Service was not what you would expect at a high end restaurant. Appetizers We’re delivered cold. All four us ordered the same steak medium. Each one was cooked differently & my sons was completely rare in the center. Was impossible to get the attention of the waitress. Told the busboy that we wanted to talk to her. She didn’t come back until she brought the check. Never even brought up desserts but at that time we are so disappointed we just wanted out of the restaurant. Will never go back
Our Holiday dinner was exquisite. Everything was perfect, including the entire staff.
Your service and hospitality on Christmas Eve was disappointing. Your hostess’s behavior was just gross. I am your most disappointed and disgusted customer. Here’s what Larsen’s will be remembered for: F ... for massive Failure.
Busy night as it was Christmas Eve. Seating was delayed due to the crowds but not awful. Service was great and food the usual yummy meal. This has become our traditional meal and it makes for a wonderful evening.
We went on Christmas Eve so that must be taken into account when considering the fair/poor server and the difficulty getting anyone’s attention. But I don’t believe the date can explain the inferior quality of the food. I have actually had a better steak dinner at a Main Street diner than the meal that was presented. There was some unappetizing flavor that seemed to be present in everything but the bread. Having heard so much about this restaurant I had hoped for a much more pleasant experience. Oh, and the valet who could not figure out how to start the car so we had to walk a block in the rain was the capper.
We normally celebrate special occasions at Ruth Chris but decided to celebrate local this year, big mistake. We waited from being seated to drinks and food. They even forgot our starter oysters prior to our meal. Did I mention, we went to celebrate my birthday?! While the hostess verified we there to celebrate my birthday, the waiter never mentioned it. It was the worst $300 spent for special occasion birthday dinner! My husband feels the need to do a redo at Ruth Chris. Needless to say, we will not be going back! So disappointing!
Been going here for my birthday for years. This year was very disappointing. Service was awful. I ordered a salad and large shrimp cocktail. The waitress asked if I wanted the shrimp with the salad and I said yes. Well she forgot to put the shrimp order in and I never got it. She apologized. The miso fish dish was good but small for $55. We asked the waitress for hot water and lemon with dessert and she forgot. She apologized. Then she brings the check and it’s the wrong check. She apologized. I wasn’t looking for numerous apologies just good service. This place is expensive and I expect good service especially on my birthday. Next year have to find new place
We celebrated my son's birthday and we had a terrific time. The food and the service were excellent and we will be back for sure.
Dinner date with my 3-year old daughter. Always a wonderful time at Larsen’s.
Always the great restaurant for fine dining in the area, and the extensive wine list is a main draw for oenophiles! Fortunately, the General Manager, Richard, is available to give an excellent recommendation at one's requested price point. The lobster bisque is the best outside of Boston, and the steaks are perfectly prepared. The jumbo baked potatoes are best shared by two, as are all the other side dishes. A bit pricey for routine dining out. . . but too good to only save for infrequent special occasions.
Bill was padded. Waiter brought my friend a glass of wine but never told her the price. It was $70.00!!!
My guest stated that the ladies bathroom lighting was way too dark.
Went before show at College of the canyons. Perfect as usual
Always the best food, professional and classy service and an overall fabulous experience.
Exceptional food and service both in the bar area before being seated and then for the entire dinner presentation. Our server, Christian, was personable, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. His recommendations were excellent. Food quality was excellent and the entire meal came out in a well spaced format, ready to eat when we were. This is a "fine dining" establishment and they held true to their mission.
Disappointed with the heirloom tomatoes
My wife’s filet was mediocre
I had the ribeye with bacon wrapped scallops and shrimp
Scallops were gritty and dry
We have eaten here many times
Will always recommend Larsen’s
You may have had a bad night
Outstanding! Everything was delicious and the lobster bisque is special! Our server, Matt, was very professional. It’s not an everyday restaurant for us but definitely right for a special occasion.
