Larsen's Steakhouse - Valencia Ratings and Reviews
Food was great but way too dark in restaurant & bathrooms. Service was extremely slow! I guess because there were only 3 of us so they put us at a set up card table & chairs. We were squished in there & our waitstaff didn’t realize we were there. We had reservations for over a month. The food was great but very overpriced.
We were unaware they were having a “private party” in the main dining area that was enclosed with a big black curtain and we were seated in a what seemed to be folding table and chairs.... because it’s not easy to make other plans at another restaurant, I believe we deserve the right to know if conditions are different like hotels say that there is construction going on....
My wife and I eat here at least twice a month sometimes with friends or family and every time the food is Perfect. The head chef is always out and about checking on you, the manager always comes by as well to check on your service and quality of food. Time after time the service is great, Troy has served us the last few times and does a wonderful job.
Attentive servers and the food is impeccable. Best place for a Kobe (Japanese A5 Kobe Filet Mignon). We enjoyed chatting with the head chef (Humberto). He put together a delicious desert platter for our table. The Blueberry Lemondrop is also delicious. Everything was perfect, from start to finish.
Larsen’s Steakhouse is definitely the perfect place to dine for a special occasion. Our server was really friendly & helpful. The staff constantly checks up on you. The restaurant overall is quiet. There is music playing which definitely sets the mode. The food is delicious.
We came here for Thanksgiving dinner and were not overly impressed. The service was fantastic and the ambiance was lovely. However, the food came out literally less than five minutes after we ordered it. The turkey and stuffing were dried out. They brought the wrong potatoes but rectified that quickly when we mentioned it. Our turkey dinner with a couple of glasses of wine was over $150. For that price we would expect exceptional food.
Worst meal I have had in a long time . Thanksgiving dinner waitress didn't even offer the Thanksgiving special we assumed they didn't have one until we heard other waiters offering to their table. 2 managers walking around gentleman with hands in his pockets saying do you need anything we have nothing to do so we are checking on everyone my husband had a break plate full of fat from his steak that was not mentioned. I told manager we were not told about the special. Music was so loud you could not hear the person next to you talk freezing inside so dark every single person had their phone light on. If the managers were good managers they would of noticed these things this was Thanksgiving at 4:30 pm not a romantic Saturday night . Only people there were small families who don't mind paying top price for a great meal this wasn't even a poor meal. We did not ask for anything but they discounted our bill which was a nice gesture but I would of preferred to pay for my meal and not leave there feeling like I needed to go get a pizza on the way home. Throwing money at everything is not always the answer nor is a piece of pumpkin pie! Will never go back.
What a wonderful way to enjoy a cozy and romantic special occssion! Good ambience, good food, good handcrafted drinks , friendly and knowledgeable wait staff/hostess and a notable wine list. We continue to come back again and again for all family Birthdays/Anniversaries!
Overall a good experience- outstanding service, friendly staff, nice ambience overall. Appetizers are really good (lobster bisque, salads, and french onion soup are EXCELLENT). Steaks while good, aren't as good as I've had at other fine dining establishments, but not bad either. And I love the side of roasted garlic clove as a wonderful addition. Delicious warm bread to start also. Coffee was awful at end- so skip it. Desserts are huge and good. The only real complaint is it's LOUD - and there was a TRUMPET player at the bar - seriously - that does not fit - it made the place way too loud. HUGE portions so come hungry. I do recommend it- and I am PICKY!!!
Always fabulous! The dry-aged filet was amazing! I️ had it with the peppercorn sauce. The shared side dish we had was the mashed potatoes, and they were delicious too! Sharlene was an excellent server. We asked a very specific food question, and the chef came out and talked with us right away! Love this place!
The wet aged rib-eye was good. Less expensive and better than the dry aged in my opinion and I've had both. I would stay away from the King crab legs and I'll just leave it at that. The overall experience didn't live up to a 5 or even 4 star restaurant. Was definitely missing those special touches that you expect at a fine dining restaurant and this is supposed to be the best in Santa Clarita Valley. Might be worth the 40 minute drive to Mastros.
For the price the meal was mehh. Steak was ordered medium and came medium well to well. Service was good, Kevin was very good.
UPDATE: I received a call from a staff member asking about my experience. I shared my experience, both the good and bad. She was very polite and promised when I came back in my steak would be properly cooked. As with other reviews, no compensation, coupon or any other consideration offered. We split a meal, spent $200 (no drinks)and the staff action only reinforces my mehh experience. I
Larson only had decent food for the absurd, ridiculously expensive prices. 4 adults cost us $500 not including a tip. You wouldn't have expected the outrageous bill. If the food & service was above the average & not just decent or okay than the bill wouldn't have been an issue whatsoever!
The GM Richard Bokstrom and his staff do an amazing job of making you not only feel like a welcome guest but as someone special. The service is top notch. Our server Michelle was extremely attentive. The Chef Hildeberto makes you feel like the most important persons there. He and his staff are amazing! The presentation, delivery and flavors are unbelievable!
Larsen's is always good. Excellent beef, great fish, fantastic side dishes. It's pricey but (weirdly) not dressy. Kind of a bummer to go out for a really nice dinner (white table cloths, low lighting, the whole deal) and sit next to people in grubby tshirts and shorts. But maybe that's just me.
My wife and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. We were very impressed with Larsens, the staff is excellent, the food is amazing, and the head chef personally came to our table to ensure we were pleased with our anniversary dinner. We'll be back again in the very near future!
They were out of the wine I selected but the waiter brought me a later year anyway. A good winery, but a lower rated year and the waiter didn't offer it to me for less money. The king crab legs were not hot and there was too much moisture in the shell. The ribeye was average, and tougher than I expected. The waiter opened a second bottle of Pellegrino before we finished our first and still had glasses half full of water. The bread and green beans were the highlight of the meal. All in all, not worth the $200 we spent.
A much needed night out and as usual the food and service at Larsen's did not disappoint! We have yet to have a bad meal at Larsen's and the cocktails wont let you down either. If there is something your craving that is not on the menu, don't be afraid to ask your waiter as Chef Humberto is extremely accommodating. We look forward to going back!
