I booked this restaurant for a family member's birthday. So terrible. The hostess was gruff and did not smile or say welcome. The waitress was terrible and mean. Did not smile, did not explain menu,we had to ask for everything - even the bread, to have our waters refilled, etc. When we ordered they did not have 2 of the 4 entrees we wanted to order - no sea bass left or the beef fillet. Then she rattled off about 4 other things they were out of. How about announcing everything they are out of before letting the party sit for 20 minutes reading the menu and making selections. The only food that was good was the french dip. For the high prices we were shocked. Even the side dish of green beans was sitting in 2 inches of oil. There was loud music playing. If you go here just realize it is not a pleasant, up scale restaurant, despite the high prices. We will never go back.
The service was horribly, horrible slow. After we finished our meal we waited 25 minutes for the check. After receiving we waited another 10 min before finally asking another server to please run our credit cards. This was my second experience in as many months at Larsen's, both times the service was lacking. Will not be back again.
We were seated in a spacious booth where we could people watch and observe meals wafting past. Excellent service while plenty of warm bread and water was refilled. Beverages ordered and served promptly with a respectable pour. Steak was done to perfection as per my request medium-well butterflied filet with fabulous baked potato and wife loved her roasted chicken.
It was too loud for conversation. The table was so large for a party of 7 you could only talk to the person on either side of you.
Used to love the place, last 4 times there it was loud, non chalant service, meat over cooked and poor quality vegetables. Close to home but now we'll travel for a steak.
Service was a little slow but that’s typical everywhere on Valentines Day- the managers never seem to increase the staff like they increase the number of tables. Server was very pleasant though and the pork chop was the absolute best I have EVER had anywhere. Overall, one of my better Valentines Day dinners.
Our reservation was for Valentine's Day and while they were quite booked up, we got seated very quickly and the service was fantastic! The only downside was that the whole place was very loud, but that's to be expected on such a night!
I can honestly say that in the time since it's been open, 10 years plus ?, we have never been disappointed at Larsen's Grill. They serve great food, provide great service, even on busy special occasion days. They work their tails off for you. Everything we've ever eaten has been excellent.
Had MACADAMIA NUT CRUSTED SEA BASS for the first time and it was fantastic! Well worth the price! Love this place!!
Great Food amazing atmosphere ,I had the biggest Lobster Tail I've ever eaten here. My Prim Rib was cooked perfect and the Cream Spinach is too die for . Great restaurant a real Gem in Simi valley.
The food was really good and the servers were nice. I had the Barbeque Tri tip and it was very tender and delicious. The sides are very tasty.
Larsens is a gem for Simi Valley. The food was excellent and the service was good. A little noisy for a romantic meal, but everyone was having a great time.
We dine at Larsen's often. This time out server was just okay. Her service was fine, but she seemed like she was annoyed with us or being at work.
My friend ordered the wedge salad , bacon was not crispy! I hope they can change that, fatty bacon not appetizing
Ahi tuna tartar was very good!
Filet mignon was good,
We went during happy hour and they sat us in a non happy hour area. Only after we complained and threatened to go elsewhere did they allow us to order HH. But it wasn’t even worth it. The cost of the HH food was ridiculously high and the portions were small and the food was so-so. We wanted a nice moms night out but next time we will just go to a cheaper place, have better service, better food and for less money.
Food good. Service ok. Worst watered down martini I ever had.
First time at Larsens in sink and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional! Definitely would go back to this specific location
Typical of the paradigm in dining, the place is loud forcing you to raise your voice to have a conversation. Food was fine, though not outstanding.
The food was exquisite!! My Fiance and I went for dinner and a date night and we were blown away by the quality of the food. The wait staff was on top of it, very friendly, and helpful.
Friendly and relaxed but very classy. Our server was adorable, really attentive and fun. I truly enjoyed our food, it was superb.
My wife and I have dined at Larsen's many times, usually celebrating a special occasion. We returned last week for our anniversary, but we were a little underwhelmed with the food and service. I'm hoping this was an anomaly, as we intend to return to this restaurant. Normally, we go mid-week and enjoy a little more attention from the servers. On this occasion, we were sharing our server with a large seminar in the meeting room. Not a good combination.
My wife initially received the incorrect side dish, but that was immediately corrected. My steak was a little under-cooked, but not to the point where I needed to return it to the kitchen. Desert was delicious, but I had to share the spoon with my coffee. Again, not a huge deal, but it's these small attention to details that were overlooked that night.
I indicated it was our anniversary on the Open Table site, but after we had to change our reservation, it may have fallen off. The restaurant made no mention or acknowledgment of the special day. Overall, we had a nice evening, but the noted items were a distraction to what could have been a much more memorable occasion.
Not having bread ready when the doors open for dinner is beyond unacceptable for a place like Larsen's, a prime steakhouse. 45mins "after doors opened" until the bread was ready, waitress was excellent which helped the situation. Don't think we'll be visiting again...
I frequent this restaurant. Brought some friends to try it out! Sat in dining room, a bit slow to get our drinks!! $18 for Tanqueray Gin Martini too pricey. My friend had the lobster rolls, she found it not having much lobster and rated it good but not great. My New York steak was very juicy. One friend had the stuffed chicken and she found the presentation sloppy.
So basically for the prices you expect a lot. No one was too impressed unfortunately. Also my party did not like red wine being served chilled or cool!!!
Room for improvement Larsen's!!!
The restaurant was busy, but the sigh of a good restaurant is great service, despite being busy!!!
Awesome!! Table was ready when we arrived. Service was fast and friendly! Food was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!!
Received gift cards for the holidays, decided to go out to eat last minute. Pleasantly surprised by how great the service was and how attentive our waiter (Logan) was to us. Appetizers that were recommended were excellent, and our dinners were very tasty and well seasoned. Dessert did not disappoint, leaving us with the feeling of....can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend this restaurant for most occasions. The only negative would be price, but well worth it.
Salmon was amazing, huge fillet, perfectly cooked.
Larsen's is consistently great. I am a regular customer. Our steaks were done, perfectly. Our sides were delicious. Service is spot on. Of course, this restaurant is no bargain, but, when we go there, we are seeking a dining experience, and that's what we receive. I'll be back.
Larsens was exceptional as always. A great place to celebrate any occasion as well a simple evening out. The service was outstanding also! Thank you for a wonderful time!
Not great. For the money I would of rather gone to Ruth Chris.
It’s our favorite (and only) fine dining restaurant in our locale. Food is as good the second night as when eaten in the restaurant.
