Larsen's Grill - Oxnard
Dinner: Daily: 5:00pm – Close
We had a wonderful dinner experience to celebrate my wife's birthday. We all ordered different food and everyone was very happy with their order. We were there on a Tuesday night and it was not that crowded and rather quiet for us all to be able to easily converse. The waitress was there any time we needed her. So we enjoyed our family dinner there very much.
Great food , hot plates and clean place. Live Music is a plus Fridays. Buttercake is legendary.
Wait staff was amazing and equally amazing was the food! The butter cake we got for dessert was absolutely fantastic
Excellent food and service. A little loud at times but it was happy hour. Overall a great place to dine.
Great restaurant! Expansive bar area with local wines on tap. Food was wonderful! Filet was nice and tender, jumbo prawns wrapped in bacon was a very tasty appetizer.
We arrived right at out 5:00pm reservation time. There were only a couple of others waiting at the front desk, and the phone was ringing off constantly. My partner I noted that was probably a good sign. Once our reservation was found (was never really lost!), we were seated. Our server, I believe his name was Alex, was very attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant without being pushy or snobby at all. He was GREAT! (Take Note, Larsen's: Alex was great!) Our meal came very quickly and it was VERY GOOD! Even my wife's Filet was butterflied and cooked well done as she likes it, without being leathery or tough. My Rib-eye was good perfectly, and it was one of the best rib-eye steaks I have had in a very long time.
I would highly recommend this place to others. The prices are kinda steep, but after all, this is a high-end steakhouse/grill, and overall, it was a very good experience for our 7th Anniversary!
First time; very satisfied with everything. We look forward to returning soon.
We tried one of your specials (Chateaubriand) & it was delicious combined with the Oberon Cabernet. The presentation of the main course & desert was great. However, what made the meal even better was the service provided by Valerie. “Val” was very courteous and really took her job serious, explaining the dish and engaged in conversation & was very attentive to us. This was not our first visit and won’t be our last. Please extend our thanks to Valerie for making our dinner even that much more enjoyable.
Great server. Price high. Nice music but sports on tv was distracting and not classy. Food very good but little too much going on. Simplify menu.
We went for my husbands birthday. We have been before and everything was amazing, though this time was disappointing. First I was brought the wrong wine, a rose instead of a red. Then we had two completely raw steaks. While I understand mistakes happen, when I am paying almost 300.00 for a meal for 3 people I expect better.
What a lively and delicious place to eat! We had a wonderful meal, outstanding service, and a really nice time here. It was all topped off with the most delicious butter cake dessert, a MUST!
Excellent meal and great menu and professional service.
The restaurant was very nicely appointed. The hostess and waitress were helpful and a accommodating, but the real reason for the five star rating was the food. The food was fabulous! The steak was tender and flavorful, the sides were huge and delicious, especially the creamed spinach, wow! And the desserts were amazing! Mom was nearly in tears over the key lime pie, so smooth and the flavor was not overpowering, just perfect. I had the chocolate peanut butter cake, I don’t remember it’s exact name, but I remember every bite, rich, creamy, and so chocolatie! Ext time, we will start with dessert! Overal, five stars of yum!
Best Prime Rib ever. Delicious cheesecake. Coolocation
Everything was excellent except I think it was too pricey for what you received. Your average person would not be able to afford a 100 to 150 dollar plate. The fish and chips that I had were not worth it at all. The fish was tender, but the outside breading was soft and somewhat soggy. For 30 bucks you get 3 pieces of fish, a bunch of fries and a small bowl of coleslaw. In any normal place, this would have been about a 12 dollar meal.
The waiter was nice enough, but he seemed to have forgotten about us. He checked on us once and asked if my wife needed more water, and then didn't return for 20 minutes.
The one thing that made up for why we even went there was they gave us a nice dessert for our wedding anniversary.
I would not recommend this place, because of the really high prices.
Perfectly nice if totally forgettable. You won't be sorry if you eat there, but odds are you won't be going out of your way to go back.
Larsen's Grill is one of our favorite places to go for Happy Hour, Lunch and Special Occasions. The staff are friendly and attentive. Katie who works the bar is outstanding, Pico our water was excellent and supported us throughout our dinner with anything we needed.
Great food, atmosphere and customer service. We like Larsen’s at the Collection. For a special night out to dinner you’ve got to try this place.
Everything was excellent, as usual; but the steak was a bit overdone; and the cut, (New York), seemed different than in the past. I think I like what I recall as it used to be better.
Perfect and professional service, pantastic meat (T-Bone), chilled atmosphere.
This is one of my favorite places to eat. However, this dinner seemed a little below par. But they more than made up for it in the delicious Butter Cake.
I have been there many times, for many occasions and am always pleased.
The restaurant was nice and quiet and the food was absolutely delicious.
We dine at Larson’s many times
Food was all over cooked they took the steak off of bill but my husband food was awful also
Worst 350.00 ever
The best. Try the butter cake. Everything is delicious. Amazing steaks.
Love going there - however it was a bit too loud for me this time
We were very disappointed with the food. My potatoes arrived cold and were sent back. A new bowl of potatoes was brought out that looked like the cook just slopped it into the bowl and the potatoes were so hot I could not even eat them. I had to eat the lobster by itself. My husband's steak also arrived cold and had to be sent back. The steak was dry and very unappealing and unappetizing. Extremely disappointing.
Food was sub par and the waitress seemed a little phony. First time we tried a Larsen’s won’t do it again. We are big Ruth Chris fans.
We had an allergy scare but it was all good once it was figured out
Food was delicious, service was great. The butter cake dessert was to die for!
As good as Mastros butter cake!
Food and service were excellent but price is very steep making it not a place many could afford to frequent.
We go to this place often and love the filet mignon. When we went this time, we ordered the special, which was an 8 oz filet and giant prawns. Instead they brought a14 oz New York steak saying that the kitchen had made a mistake but they brought it anyway. Well, there's no comparison between a NY steak and filet mignon. We only ate about a third of the steak each. As expected, it was chewy and tough. When we told the server, he offered to bring a free dessert which were didn't want. We didn't ask for anything but they should've comped something else. This was a very disappointing meal.
One of my favorite places! I enjoy the live music at happy hour, and the appetizers and small bites are lovely. The patio is really quite nice with views of the fountain park next to it at the Collection.
Excellent food and service. A little noisy to carry a conversation - hard to hear others.
I was not happy with my porter house ! It was ok.. but overall great time.
Alex’s service was excellent. He suggested the Fillet Mignon Oscar which was a rare special. It was fantastic. Loved the large crab leg meat on top. Thank you!
Nobody came by our table for 15 minutes although servers and manager walked by. Finally ordered food. Steaks over cooked side dishes served on same plate and lukewarm. $8 fries are a skimpy serving.
Sever tried hard to recover. His hospitality was on point but lack of management involvement once issue were pointed out. For a steakhouse, at least steaks should be perfect or make sure experience is in some way rectified while still at the table.
We went to Larson's for our 20th wedding anniversary. We noted that on our reservation and there was no acknowledgement of the special occasion. They sat us in a booth against the bar area that was pretty loud and had guys cursing over our shoulders at 7:30pm while others were sat against the quiet windows. The ribeye was overly-fatty for the price (per the waiters recommendation). Overall, I thought it was a pricey meal for the occasion without the special desert scripted plate and gentle noise that we are used to at Mastro's in the valley. It was still ok, but just less than what we anticipated.
Small gaffs in the service; But overall a good experience.
very good food and great service. Live music was a bit too loud.
