service was very slow and when he was with us, itwas very rushed and he was impatient . Food was great as always .
Ordered the prime rib sandwichfor $19 was told I could order it medium rare. The meat turned out to be well cooked, shaved beef with melted cheese on top. No way you could tell it was prime rib. My husband ordered the $34 pork chop which was one small, chop with very little flavor. The loaded potato was undercooked and hard. The service was good and they took the prime rib sandwich off our bill. Very sad as we need a restaurant like this in Oxnard - but a good one.
Delicious food and great service. I came for the live music (piano), as last time I came they had a jazz band playing. However the pianist was not there during the advertised time (5-7). Other than that it was a great experience.
My husband and I had such a fun and yummy dinner at this fine restaurant. We wound up sitting at the bar enjoying the live music and the great service from Boots and the other bartenders. We enjoyed delicious calamari with a sweet, spicy sauce and then perfectly prepared rib eye steak and lobster! Oh and I can’t forget the excellent Manhattan cocktail with block ice. Thank you!
Our server was great. Personable nice experience.
Exquisite. Only issue was live single musician that had sound up filling the restaurant with great tunes but limiting conversation during early (6:30) evening.
Save it for when folks are finishing dinner and transitioning to bar.
Service was FANTASTIC!
Valerie was very warm and inviting
Food choices were bad and food was warm up with mico wave
Loved the chicken salad, wine selection and live music (who ever it was had the most angelic voice I’ve ever heard and she was playing all the top 40, acoustic/piano. The creme brûlée was just ok, didint love but still it was a solid 7. Service was great, got sat right away and price was decent. I want to come back for happy hour and mimosas on Sunday!
Very expensive, food ok.
Crab Cake was Excellent! Unfortunately the Rib Eye and Lobster Tail had so much seasoning it overwhelmed the
actual flavors of the meat. Dutch Apple pie was so sweet
it was had to taste apples.
The service was amazing and management was very accommodating. everyone in our party of six was extremely satisfied with the meal.
Always one of my favorite spots to eat. Love to order The Burger and Chopped salad, delicious and plenty to split both with a friend.
We enjoyed for the first time our dinner there.Only complaint was live music a bit too much to talk over, and not sitting at table to close to bar.Drinkers tend to shout when conversing. But by far better than Prime,Casa Bella,Aloha in Ventura.I will definitely return. My wife loved lobster soup, and even raved over wedge salad. Now thats quite the chef, when my wife knocks it out of the park regularly.
One of the best steaks ever. Side dishes of seared brussel sprouts and onion rings were also excellent. Device person was delightful.
The bisque was great!
Delicious meal. It was my first time enjoying Chilean sea bass and every bite was exceptional . The ambiance was very nice and romantic.
The filet mignon was just perfect!!! We will definitely do date night here again.
I was disappointed in the food and the ambiance. We paid $60 for a prime USDA steak and yet the choice steaks I get and make from Von’s or Ralph’s tasted better. The meat was tough and not juicy. The salad and Mac and cheese were unimpressive. I honestly think the boxed Mac and cheese is better. It was all so expensive and they didn’t even serve bread. Not only that it was very loud in the restaurant and they had a guy playing guitar and singing and we could barely hear ourselves talk. Definitely not a great spot for a date.
Noise level is the only concern that we had. We were there for a romantic dinner but could not get in the mood with the noise level. Maybe a thought would be to have piano playing only.
Great food and service
Friendly and timely service, lovely atmosphere.
The only issue I had is with the food not been warm enough. Nicely presented but on cold plates and meat was lukewarm to room temperature at best, so it was the soup. I like my food hot, but understand that is impossible and not advisable in a restaurant, but warm plates would keep the meat warmer for a little longer.
Very good steak, one of my favorite places to eat.
Arrived a few minutes late, but were seated at our Open Table reserved table right away. Service and food were great, as usual. One of our favorite restaurants.
Very enjoyable dining experience.
The food was exceptional. Alex, our server was very attentive and made our dining experience very special as we were celebrating a birthday. The atmosphere and quality is superb!! A+
The BEST steak salad I have ever eaten!!! Excellent service. Nice wine and cocktail list. I will absolutely go back.
Ashley was amazing!!!! Even with a trainee , Ryan, who was great too, she had lots of time for us!! It was a super great experience
Vegetables were ice cold and fiancé drink was all ice. Sizzler is better.
Amazing dinner. Great drinks.
Will absolutely return
Steaks are great. The noise level is loud. Not a good location for a quiet meal.
We were cheerfully and promptly greeted and seated. Server was very attentive and personable. Food came out on time and tasty. Definitely a good vibe and well managed restaurant. We will be back.
The Cedar Plank Salmon and the Dry rub Fillet are awesome.
The food was excellent but the service was not. Our server was not attentive and even when he was talking to us he was looking to the other tables. He asked if we want soup or salad with our dinner without clarifying that was extra charge. Also he was talking to us like he knows us for long time and we are friends.
Restaurant was busy so hoping food was good. Husband ordered steak which he enjoyed. I ordered sea bass which was a little fishy. Paying an extra $2 for bread is ridiculous considering the cost of the food. The "fabulous" mac and cheese was just okay. Tastes better at Whole Foods down the street. Husband ordered Tanqueray drink but was given house gin. Ordered a cappuccino after dinner and it was literally the worst I've ever had. Like regular drip coffee with foam on it... definitely NOT espresso. The waitress, however, was a dream and was lovely. Larsen's was completely overrated. Will not return.
All in all it was a good experience with the exception of delayed service. String beans advertised with almonds, and there was
none. Also CHARGED for bread that was inferior. Should serve artisan bread complimentary like other fine restaurants do. Filet Mignon was cooked pursuant to my exact request. Saxophone player complimented ambience. Take care of
these glitches and I’d attend more frequently
Valentines Day dinner was terrific. We had a special pink martini, lobster bisque, crab cakes, Chilean Sea bass, and the fantastic butter cake for dessert. The food was all great, and the service was top notch.
We come to Larsen’s Grill for all kinds of great meals. Good wine list. Great cocktails. Food is amazing. The staff is always courteous, attentive and we have even had the chef come out to ask how the food was prepared.
We went for Valentine's Day and it was perfect! We had a wonderful evening, live saxaphone music and the ambiance was very romantic. The food and service were excellent! We would highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you for a wonderful evening, you really made our Valentine's Day extra special!
