We were attending an event at the conference centre and needed a quick bite before the evening commenced.
Friendly attentive staff, good food in generous portions and a very quiet dinner on a Monday evening.
We all choose Fritto Misto & shared a mixed salad & Zucchini Fritto (lovely)
Recommend for a quick bite before the theatre or an event

Food was delicious. Proper Italian not a chain. Service was prompt without being unduly quick which helped as we needed to get to theatre.

We dined here as a family, having come on from another event where unexpected amounts of food had been served! As a result, we all had main courses only, though with two bottles of primitivo. All meals were enjoyed, and my seafood risotto was very good. The wine was good value. Service was good overall, and friendly, though there was a slight delay in getting to pay the bill, which made the 3 minute walk to the station more rushed than it need have been.

L'Aroma is a lovely surprise - it isn't in the main centre of Woking but it is worth walking past the chains- lovely food, friendly service and really good value. Good before a show at the theatre. The grilled squid and prawns were spectacular. The mixed salad was excellent.

Our second visit after we loved it the first time. However this time we were slightly disappointed by the length of time we were left waiting. We were quick to be seated however was over half an hour before our order was taken. We were not the only ones waiting for a while. The food however was amazing and we will be returning as its our favourite italian around.

Had a very nice meal here for my girlfriends birthday. The food was great and the speed in which it came out was good. We had a nice table and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. I had to rate the service as "fair" as we arrived and ordered drinks quite quickly, however a table of six came in about 5 minutes after us and the waitress served them drinks (all wine so took a while for her to pour their drinks) then after a little while longer waiting, she then went on to take their food order whilst we were still waiting (with our menu's closed for quite a while. There were multiple waiters walking past but we had to ask one of them to make a food order, which I think is poor. If the service was better, I would have rated it 5/5.

I booked this on the very good reviews, but what a disappointment. There was noting right about this restaurant; the ambience was stark, with bear tables. Service was very poor - staff not well trained - and both starters and main courses arrived over a 5 minute period. People waiting to start their meals - all getting cold. A basic service item - meals being delivered together. The calamari and prawns were straight out of a freezer packet. Not a lot was fresh. I'll never go back. The entrance is off the high street and is like a hole in the wall.

After reading reviews I decided this was where myself and friend should go. When we arrived we stood for a while before being acknowledged and given a table.

We waited at least 10 minutes before being asked what we wanted to drink and it then took a while for it to arrive. At this point we ordered our starter and we were told by the waitress that she would come back and take our order for main course later. This did not happen until after our starter arrived.

Our main course seemed to take an age to arrive and a member of staff did apologise that it was so late. We finished and expected the dessert menu to arrive but in the end I had to ask for it. We decided not to order due to the amount of time it may have taken to arrive.

The restaurant was buzzing and the atmosphere good, however we could not hear each other talk.

The food was ok but nothing to encourage me to return.

I always leave a tip but felt I could not do so. We will not be returning.

Love this restaurant, my husband and I are both real foodies, and this restaurant is one of the best Italian's we've been to. Freshly prepared, fresh produce means its head and shoulders above standard 'chain' restaurants.
The 2 course lunchtime set menu is great value at £7.95.
We will continue to recommend to others, and visit ourselves as often as possible.
Keep up the good work!

We consider this restaurant to be our 'local'. It is one of the better restaurants in the town centre and always has friendly service. The menu has a good variety of hearty Italian food. We hadnt been for a while and the food wasn't as good as I remembered on this occassion, but still enjoyable nonetheless.

We will keep coming back.

L'Aroma is one of the better restaurants in Woking that we go to regularly. Has a lovely ambience and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We have always had lovely food and enjoyed the evening here and will come back many a time both as a couple and with friends. Always top of the list for an evening out in Woking.

This is the 2nd time we have visited L'Aroma prior to a theatre event. We first went there having had several recommendations from friends and weren't disappointed. This is a genuine independent Italian restaurant and makes a refreshing change from the big chain restaurants. Food was superb with some unique recipes and good value. House wine also excellent. Service also friendly and efficient. Definitely recommended

last minute booking for Mothers day for my mum and my wife and son. Not expecting too much as it was last minute and was available but was really surprised. The restaurant is typical Italian trattoria in looks but food was excellent, well cooked and presented and good value. We had an excellent meal. Highly recommend.

My first visit to L'Aroma. Very conveniently situated to the railway station which was the reason for my choice as I had had no idea of its existence before browsing on Woking Top Table restaurants. Friendly and efficient staff who gave us a warm welcome. Quite an extensive menu and reasonably priced wines. Antipasti starter was good followed by an adequate pasta cacciatore - disappointingly it had an overriding taste of tomato puree. My fellow diners made the better choice of the black squid ravioli which was delicious and very flavoursome. It was an ideal venue for an early supper. The restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere but I think that was because there were not many diners at 6 pm. I would certainly make a return trip.

This place is a firm favourite: good food, friendly service, good wine menu, not over-priced. The menu changes from time to time but there's always an excellent choice. We quite often go here mid-week for a quiet meal together, and have never been disappointed! It's close to Woking station but feels pleasantly tucked away once you're inside.

L'Aroma has gone downmarket by offering an "all you can eat" menu on a Sunday. As a result, it was quite busy early in the evening, there were a number of children, and the food was not up to its normal standard in terms of quality and quantity (but of course you could have a 2nd helping!).

The location is not romantic but very convenient, between the station and the town. The service is professional and friendly (and nice to children.) The food is fresh, well-made and delicious. It tastes like home cooking, down tot he salad dressing. It's worth the trip here to eat. It's the best restaurant I know in Woking.

We did enjoy our meal, the food was great. The service was very friendly if a little haphazard and lacking attention at the right moments. As a largeish lunch we had decided to pre-order anti-pasti to share - by e-mail and checked in person that the message had been noted. However, when we got there we had to ask a couple of times for our anti-pasti. We took some tiramisu away as dessert and it was excellent..

L'Aroma in Woking is very busy pretheatre and when you taste the food you can sse why. the mussel & clam starter was a hit once again for my mother. If you don't normally have risottos, try it here. It is very tasty. But the reason I would always go out of my way to visit L'Aroma is the fabulous Zabaglione, the best anywhere. Just allow them 20 minutes to prepare it by having your coffee first!
