The reviews about Larimar were enticing. Had to try it. And - we were not disappointed! The food was perfectly prepared and delicous. The service was impeccable. And Karen, the owner, stopped by our table several times to check on us. Can't wait to go back...

Larimar is a beautiful well appointed place that features great service and great food. Even though they don't have a liquor license you can eat at the bar for those that enjoy bar seating. Their mushroom bisque is to die for. Very reminiscent of the Manor in West Orange for those that remember. Salads are both creative and fresh. Pastas very good. Flat Iron Steak was a real treat. The ladies ate Sea Bass and were disappointed with lack of flavor or interest though fresh. Desserts here are worth saving room for. Would do it again.

The service here is incredible and the food is great. We had the arancini for an appetizer which was good - would get something different next time but it wasn't bad. We had two pastas for our entrees which were both delicious - especially the toscana ragu. Yum! Had the small cakes for dessert with chocolate and strawberry drizzle which were very good. It is a bit pricey but it's a nice night out and the food is solid. I would return.

Always excellent food and service! The owner circulates the restaurant making sure all diners have a good experience. The seasonal blueberry cream brûlée was outstanding. I had to stop myself from licking the bowl! If only the town of Spring Lake would give them a liquor license ...

This was our 2nd visit... disappointing! It was a Sunday evening 7pm... It was my birthday dinner.
When we arrived there were only two other tables with customers. The server greeted us nicely, poured our wine. Gave us a few minutes to just relax. Then asked if we were ready to order...
I asked for the Snapper... "oh, we are out of it" It is a menu item, not a special. Why wasn't something said earlier. I settled for chicken, but I didn't come to this restaurant for chicken...
Later the server said because the restaurant is closed on Monday & Tuesday they can't keep fish that long... Really, then don't offer it as a menu item. Don't tell me you had to save some from Saturday to Sunday and just ran out of it. I was really annoyed.
This isn't a cheap restaurant. It's suppose to be 4 star dining...
I will really have to think twice about returning...

the restaurant was not crowded because of school break, but those who were not away have no excuse. the meal & service were wonderful. we were a party of 4. for appetizers we had the scallops which my wife raved about and 2 orders of the lamb ravioli - a must if it is on the menu. I had the flat iron steak with the white chocolate risotto (very interesting!). steak was perfect. we also had the pork chop which also looked wonderful & tasted better. the ladies had homemade pasta (bolognese). the restaurant was also easily able to accommodate our request for gluten free for one of our party. we finished off with desserts of the gelato and the beignets (we got a take home order of these as well.
in all, well worth the visit, and although a bit pricey, definitely worthy of the investment. this is a spot to enjoy before the summer crowds!

We only found out about this place recently. The food is great and the service is excellent - plus the advantage of being able to bring your own wine (though should you forget, Spring Lake Bottle Shop is right across the street!).

First time to Larimar after trying for a reservation for quite some time. We went on a Sunday night and got our preferred time. The greeting was very nice and we were seated promptly and made to feel very welcomed. It is BYOB this time of year and our wine was immediately taken and then brought back and served as if we had ordered from a wine list - a great touch.
We had the Beet & Carrot salad and Seared Octopus to start - both were excellent. For entrees we had the Chicken and the Red Snapper. The Chicken was served with veggies. The dish was good but not notable. The snapper with orzo was excellent. We finished with a shared Creme Brulee - also excellent. All food presentations were done quite well.
As we left we were presented with our leftovers at the reception desk / coat check - another nice touch. Overall the service likewise was excellent and the noise level allowed for talking at the table even with music playing. Very elegant.

Awesome dinner. We have been there multiple times and each time was consistently good. This is a nice dining experience from the time you enter until you depart. If you want a noisy people watching place this isn't for you. If you want a quiet romantic date night with excellent food look no further.

Although Larimar is a beautiful restaurant, we we're disappointed with the food. Our appetizer was grilled Octopus and it was over cooked. Our entree's we're Salmon and Red Snapper which were very good, but the sides weren't appetizing. The portions we're small and the price was high.

So happy a beautiful, delicious restaurant finally opened at the shore. Loved every bit of our dinner experience, every appetizer especially the burrata, all the pasta dishes and the pork dish was out of this world. The food, attentive service & beautifully designed restaurant was like we were in a trendy, upscale restaurant in NYC ,but at the beach. Amazing experience. Thank you for opening this gem!!

Once again we had an excellent dining experience at Larimar. Every time we come here we do so with anticipation for their excellence in cuisine, which is treated as an art form. The scallop with the chorizo and seared octopus appetizers, were above and beyond, and the split pasta course of Casarecce and Campenelle also awesome. At this point we know the menu well, and although the seared Duck Breast and Pork Chop were up to Chef Dan Meadows par, the flat iron steak, with the espresso white chocolate risotto and kale was truly a treat, and this trip, the best meal at the table, where all meals were 5 out of 5. Again, thank you, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Monmouth County.
