We had brunch for 8 people, the service was good and the food was amazing. Everyone was happy with their meal.
Lovely service and beautiful food make this a must-try. The menu is on the smaller side, creative touches like dill sorbet on the salad make even classic dishes stand out.
Kitchen closed from 3-5:30pm, yet there were 3pm reservations available on Open Table which doesn't work; 2pm should be your latest afternoon reservation if you want a full menu -- did not arrive until 2:30pm and kitchen closed by desert. Otherwise outstanding, fresh, local food very well prepared.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood. All of the wait staff are knowledgable, friendly and fun. The food is simply wonderful, the wine list excellent and the atmosphere a delight.

What an incredible restaurant. The food, service, ambiance are amazing. A Manhattan top quality meal at 2/3's the price.
L'Antagoniste remains one of our go to spots in the neighborhood. We go often and recently went for our 10th anniversary and found everything on point as always. Amadeus was on hand to chat with us and hand pick an amazing bottle of wine that was very reasonably priced. The perennial cheese souffle and new escargot appetizers were great, as were the steak frites and squab special. I'd highly recommend it to friends, foodies, and BK visitors alike.
Our party of 5's second visit was Mother's Day. The Brunch menu had many options. I had the pheasant special with spring peas, we also ordered the duck hash, steak and eggs and a pork belly banh mi. Everything was delicious! Our first visit was on a Sunday to try their pressed duck. We are hooked!

Four of us went on a Monday. BYOB with NO corkage fee on Mondays!
But on to the food. We had two appetizers: the beef tartar was perfect and served with an egg yolk to be mixed in, served with thin sliced baguette toast brushed with oil. The cheese and charcuterie board was wonderful. Two types of pate, very good ham, three cheeses, pickles and walnuts, served with a more substantial dark bread. We also had a dozen oysters, two different varieties, served with classic mignonette and lemon. Only $1.50 each during happy hour!
We shared three entrees: the duck breast with kumquats and potato puree was a delicious twist on the classic duck a l'orange. Steak Frites was perfect. And (a special on Mondays only) we had Poulet en Vessie. A whole chicken cooked with sliced truffles under the skin, butter with herb, and (I think) cognac. The whole thing is encased, tied, and cooked (kind of like sous vide) in chicken stock. Presented to the table, the casing is opened tableside, then brought back into the kitchen to be cut up, with all the chicken juices (and everything else that went into it) turned into a gravy fortified with foie gras. I've never had anything like it. Unctuous, and a truly outstanding dish.
We shared four desserts, all of which were great. A pistachio parfait, a chocolate Baba, a meringue with mango sorbet, and a rhubarb tart with ice cream flavored with Turkish chile pepper! Amazing!
We all left, sated, smiling, and talking about when we'd go back again once the weather is warmer, so we could sit outside in the beautiful backyard garden.
I came here yesterday and was so impressed I said the food was better than Per Se in Manhattan. So I came back the very next day and even better food. It was amazing! I can now say it was better than the French Laundry!!!

Amadeus and his team provide a first class taste of France in Bed-Stuy. An outstanding example of fine dining. Go and go often. Awesome.
Was my wife birthday, they take care of all detail to make feel very special, the surprise pistacho cake was amazing. Love this place.

Really a terrific spot. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable and very friendly. A solid wine list with very low prices for the options listed. Can’t wait to get back.
I love L'Antagonist, it is truly a gem in Bed-Stuy. We live around the block and I try to come whenever I can. The french cuisine is to die for and the service is unbeatable. Love LOVE LOVE this place.

The food was great. I wished that scallops were on the brunch menu but the steak and eggs was supreme.
Our family of 11 went to dinner and it was delicious. Kelsey was our server and she was so excellent. Marcus, the sommelier, was fantastic. Great food, mussels were excellent, cassoulet delicious. All very good.
My date and I had a 9:15 p.m. reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was lively and vibrant. Sarah, our server, was knowledgeable and helpful as we made our menu choices.
Both the striped sea bass and the seared scallops were delectable. Don't miss the souffle with sherbet as your starter. It was SPECTACULAR!

Loved the BYOB night, foie gras was amazing, however the plats principaux fell a little short on taste, unfortuantely. Lovely spot and atmosphere!
We celebrated a friend's 40th birthday here and we couldn't have been happier with the food, service and ambience. A lovely experience.
Friendly and attentive servers. Mussels were out of this world but eggs Benedict were just so-so; a delicate dish, it was marred by a topping that resembled beet hummus. Pain perdu was tasty but not kid friendly, and I still prefer the version served at the Ox Cart (formerly Pomme de Terre) in Ditmas Park. Also, the bathroom wallpaper’s totally worth a peek.
We already think this place is 5 stars and yet each time we come back we like it even more! The new sommelier was terrific and sat down with us after we finished our meal and pointed out different wines he particularly liked and thought we might want to try on future visits since we had asked questions and starting chatting wine with him. And as always the food and service was perfection!
I ordered the mussels appetizer and Escargot as an appetizer. The mussels were good but I didn't enjoy the escargot . They make it with pig feet sauce which I was curious about but not a good idea. As an entree, I ordered the scallops. They were delicious.
Entrees were very expensive. Wine list was great. There was a mouse in the restaurant and when he staff realized, they didn’t do anything about it, which was odd.
L'Antagoniste is a charming corner restaurant with delicious food & excellent service provided by attentive waiters. Their menu really makes me want to go there again. They also do brunch!
L'Antagoniste never ceases to WOW us. The Chef is outstanding. The staff is knowledgeable, energetic, warm and welcoming. L'Antagoniste is our favorite date night, celebratory dinner spot around. Ahmedeus is awesome!
Always a great spot to bring Mom during the holidays. Usually service is quite good, this time the server was very well intended but forgetful. Definitely a fluke. We’re happy to keep go.
Extremely good food - passionate owner. Waitress was extremely attentive, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She was passionate about each dish and provided special extra information and advice about each course.
