Langosta Lounge Ratings and Reviews
I was somewhat disappointed for the first time after coming here for years. The service was curt bordering on rude, and just minimal. That had never been the case in the past. Also, I think it would be a good idea to go back to having breadsticks or roast garlic and a small amount of bread on the table. He told us "we don't do bread here" with no other comment when we asked for some.
Two of the 7 main courses we ordered were not good. We normally enjoy the food but this time it was off. I did say something to the waiter but he just shrugged. Also, while we were eating a huge umbrella tipped over and hit the table next to us and almost hit the patrons dog. The two children in our party were frightened. Overall not a good experience.
Horrible service - our waitress never gave us silverware. Never asked us for refills at all. Our food was brought out way after everyone else. My friends sushi was sitting on the sushi counter for about 20 mins we saw it. Food was great but the waitress with long reddish hair needs to be better at managing a bunch of tables.
This restaurant has always been one of my favorites in Asbury! I ordered the Caribbean vacation which was really good. My husband had the shrimp Haliíimaile which was good but not great! My friends ordered the curry dish which I don't think they enjoyed very much. Although the calamari appetizer was tasty, it was a disappointingly small portion. I will definitely go back but this was not one of my favorite visits
Food and service were both terrible, making this restaurant a complete fail. Restaurant was relatively empty. Our appetizers took over 30 minutes to come out. Entrees took another 45 minutes. The waiter only came to the table when we had runners flag him down. By the time the food arrived, we were famished, but the food was worse than the service and can only be explained as "soggy". The noodles in the curry chicken turned into mush in the bowl, the lobster pizza was soft, flavorless, and mealy. Even the "crispy" calimary was soggy. Only thing not soggy was a tomato based pasta dish. Those noodles were cold and the sauce had already congealed, like left-overs straight from the fridge. The kid's grilled cheese panini was a microwaved piece of cheese on a pita pocket. We were a party of 8. The tastiest thing was a plain, dry chicken breast that one in our party ordered because she is on a diet! Management was completely unapologetic.
The food was good, the chefs make a strong effort to use locally grown organic ingredients, and try to support local farmers. Saushito peppers were my favorite, calamari was good, salad was fresh. sushi was decent, nothing spectacular. cocktails were nice, but they ran out of the one we liked best (a mango rum drink). The mai tai was pretty bad. good beer selection. Biggest complaint is that they were out of a whole bunch of menu items - we got there at 7:30 - they were closing at 9pm on a Sunday night. So some of the things we would have ordered we were unable to.
Our waitress Tatiana was really the bright spot of our visit. Seating we were given was in dark corner far from the more popular ocean views. When I asked for better seating it was a summary "no". I had shrimp halimaile and my wife had the Khoa noodle with shrimp. Food portions were enormous but I would have preferred less with more emphasis on quality, taste and presentation. Winelist was limited. Skipped desert, had a night cap and made an exit. In summary, not worth the beach hype but maybe the hype is the norm in Asbury Park.
Lively atmosphere. Disappointed the band I was going to see canceled so I did not get to experience the music. Wait staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and fast! I was impressed with the service. Food is very good but pricey for boardwalk location. Bathroom was very dirty and unkept. Toilet paper all over floor and only two out of four stalls in ladies room were in service. It was my third time having dinner there and I felt the service was fabulous but restaurant is not being maintained.
We ate dinner there on Friday 7-21-17 at 7:30. This was our first time at the restaurant and we are very happy we went there. Traffic held up some of our party and the reception desk was really accommodating telling us to wait a the bar until the rest of our party arrived. The bartenders were all very friendly and served the drinks with a side of spicy popcorn. Once our party arrived they sat us immediately at a great table facing the ocean and boardwalk. The wait staff was great and really knew the menu and what to recommend. The food was great and did not disappoint. We really love Asbury because of how much it has changed and I think places like this are the reason. One of our party asked what the theme of the place was because they have all different types of food including Sushi and she said the owner likes to travel and bring back something from the area they go to and adds it to the menu. From the appetizer's thru the dessert everything was great and very reasonably priced with just enough portion size to not make you feel stuffed. They also had live music starting at 10:00 which was great. I highly recommend Langoustes lounge for the food, people and overall atmosphere.
I have been here twice before and expected the same. Pretty decent food but spotty service. This time I was pleasantly surprised by the nice beer selection, delicious food (the salads and sushi rolls are excellent) and much better service (attentive, faster but not hasty.) My only issue this time is that the bathroom could use an upgrade. We look forward to coming back again this summer!
Manager screaming for us to leave the table after dinner (no dessert, no additional drinks) because they couldn't tell us ahead of time that we had a limited time there just shows how poorly trained the staff is. That's unacceptable and everyone around us agreed.
Food is okay depending on what you choose, drinks are inconsistent in presentation, food 'auctioned' off at the table ("who gets...?), but our primary waitress was good.
Fantastic experience at Langosta this past weekend! Have frequented the restaurant for several years, and it has always been very good - but it has stepped it up to outstanding. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal and cocktails. Excellent service by Tatiana, too!
We've been fans of LL for years. I won't go back. This last trip turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. We booked a table for 8 in the main room for my daughters 15 bday. Wanted my daughter and her friends to enjoy the buzz of LL and the ambiance. When we arrived, the manager (older guy with gray hair) took a look at them and sent us to the back room. The girls were all dressed up but for some reason he refused to put us in the main room. There was an empty round table of 8 in a perfect spot in the main room and he said he was saving it for a party of 10. I told him no way 10 can fit there but 10 can fit at the large long table he sent us to in the back room. I didn't want to argue with the guy but on our way out, we saw a party of 8 just getting started. So he lied and stuck is in the back room for some reason. Totally lame guy who should have recognized we were there for a special occasion and done better for his guests. On top of that, the Korean steak was dry and boring, my wife's seafood pasta had no flavor. The hummus app was very good as was the sushi my daughter and some of her friends ordered. But...he annoyed me enough that I would go to other great places in Asbury before going back there. Lame.
We were seated right away at a table with great views of the ocean and plenty of characters walking on the boardwalk
Food was prepared perfectly and was delicious
The wings were spicy and delightful and the Mediterranean platter was excellent
We ordered sushi, ribs, lobster primavera pizza and steak
All were delicious
We even left room for dessert which was decadent
We will be back in the summer
