Langermann's - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Langermann's has a very good menu, decent prices, great atmosphere, and usually pretty good service. There's pretty much something on the menu for everyone, and the food is always prepared well. LOVE the tuna-crab tartar. And if you want to eat on the cheaps, go to their bar and have the turkey burger - they have the best turkey burger in Baltimore.
They offer valet, but there is also free parking at night in the can company garage.
Four of us went to Langerman's for dinner - none of us had been there before. We liked everything. The fried green tomato appetizer was delish. My husband had the the chicken dish on the menu- loved it. Two of us had Chilean sea bass- very good. One had the cod- which looked very good. For dessert we shared 2 apple cobblers, which was plenty for the 4 of us.
All in all- fine time. We will all go back.
We were underwhelmed with the Father's Day brunch. The food wasn't great. The set up was disjointed. This was most disappointing because we met friends for brunch several months ago and absolutely loved it. We've noticed that our recent visits there for dinner have also been less than we expected. The menu items we once ordered regularly have been changed and are no longer as good. We're not yet sure if we'll go back.
We had dinner here on a Friday night -- based on the other Open Table reviews, I think it was an anomaly. The sparerib appetizer was very good, but the crab and spinach dip wasn't very flavorful. THe Shrimp and Grits was really salty and the rest of the entrees were just okay. Our waiter was terrific though. I've heard great things about Langermann's and we will give it another try.
Langermann's delivers on taste and presentation... all of our dishes were spot on flavorful and attractive - from the luscious seared sea scallops with sweet potato hash and thai curry sauce to the shrimp and grits or beef medallions. Bursting with flavor. Nice size portions and awesome moist mini biscuits made on premises... Service was good, restaurant was quiet for a Tues. eve- not many tables occupied but the food delivers!!!
ps parking is limited- my only criticism
Langermann's has a southern flair to their menu , so it may not appeal to everyone but we love it! I usually get the shrimp and grits which are awesome. This was an old can company and I really like the huge windows in the restaurant, lets in a lot of light. I have dined here before and would like to return to try more menu items. We also really liked the beer and wine selection. Service was timely and waitress was very friendly.
Food was mediocre - I tried one of their specialty cocktails, but it had very little taste, almost as if it were watered down. The ahi tune crab tartar was very good. For dinner I had the seared medallion scallops - I ordered them medium rare, they were well done. My husband had the shrimp grits which he enjoyed, and a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was made with extra sharp cheddar and could have used other cheeses to help blend the "sharpness". Also, the cheese sauce was not creamy, but sort of grainy, as if they used processed cheese instead of freshly grated. Glad we tried it, but don't need to go back.
I don't think the waitress lived up to the tip she recieved , but all in all it was a wonderful dining experience for my friend who had never been to Langermann's. They thought I had picked a wonder ful venue as we headed off to Center Stage after "supper".
Went for my husband's birthday. Drinks were good. My husband had a jalepeno margharita which was really tasty! We ordered 2 appetizers, one was the ahi tuna/crab stack which was delicious. The other was 2 slices of fried green tomatoes that they had the nerve to charge $8 for. Seriously?
My husband got steak medalions. He ordered his meat medium rare, and it came out medium to medium/well. He hates to cause a fuss, and he just ate it. I got the shrimp and grits and it was very good.
Desserts were awful. We ordered bread pudding that was so dry. We sent it back and got a chocolate mousse that was covered in cool whip. I was so grossed out that they used artificial non-dairy whipped topping on a homemade dessert. Really?
This was our first time to Langermann's and our first time to this Canton neighborhood. We enjoyed sharing the fried green tomato appetizer, and both our entrees were delicious as well -- shrimp and grits, and hanger steak. The bread pudding for dessert was quite dense but still very good.
We have been to Langermann's twice and have had a great meal both times. The service was superb. The first time we went my wife had the pork and I had salmon. Both were delicious. The second time we both tried the special which was grouper. Oh, my! We asked to substitute grits for rice and it was fantastic. Don't miss the bread pudding.
Upon arrival, we were seated straight away by a friendly hostess. After a long wait for a server, we decided to go to the bar for our dining experience. Our bartender was efficient and made a great drink. We started with the Cape Fear Scallops and the Tuna Crab Tartar, all for good reason. Both were delicious! The scallops were cooked perfectly and I've never had grits that tasted so delectable! Even the corn bread was tasty. For our main meal, I ordered the Sea Bass (Yum!) and husband ordered the NY Strip. His first choice was the Missy Skillet Chicken, unfortunately, they were all out. The steak was cooked perfect to his request and no one left hungry. Langermann's will definitely be a location that we will return -- very soon.
This is my third time here in the past few weeks and I am hooked. We came in for my birthday. We started with the asparagus frites with a sweet dipping sauce that grew on us. We also had the complimentary biscuits and cornbread. For dinner I had the sweet tea brined chicken, and the BF got the special, a plate of fettuccine full of shrimp and scallops in a lobster sauce with spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes. Both were delicious, I hope they add the pasta to their regular menu.
We had brunch here this past weekend. It was awesome! It was an order off the menu brunch with a side item buffet. The buffet had bacon, fruit, grits, home fries, pastries, everything you could want on the side of your main meal, perfect! Lunch was also available. The food at langermanns is all phenomenal...has a southern flare and is all excellently prepared. I would highly recommend this restaurant,
Awesome place to eat, drink and hang out! I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants a great meal.
Atmosphere is of an upscale white tablecloth bistro, food is always well prepared, unique and delicious.
The staff is always courteous, prompt, professional and friendly. The menu at a glance may seem more expensive than other places but the quality and uniqueness of the food makes up for it.
They also offer outdoor seating and free parking right out front –which if you live or dine out in Canton (or anywhere in Baltimore) you know parking it is a luxury! The garage behind the building is also free after 5 pm on week days and free on weekends. If one needs to, there is a valet parking offered right at the front door.
My family and I had dinner at Langermann's and we throughly enjoyed our meal. This was our first time having dinner there as we usually do Sunday brunch at Langermann's. I must admit that dinner was as scrumptious as the brunch! I highly recommend Langermann's for Sunday brunch and dinner for any occasion.
The Brunch at Langermann's is always delightful, The Mother's day Brunch featured the Shrimp and Grits station as well as the Omelet bar.. The Southern style cousine makes for a hearty meal, not for those on a diet but worth the extra calories!
The service is always excellent as well and we plan to make this a regular event.
This is my new favorite place. I love the food, I love the decor, and the service is always so warm and friendly, albeit a little slow at times. The crab dip is terrific, no Old Bay which gives it a completely different taste than others in town. The catfish fingers were crispy and light and not fishy, and the Cape Fear scallops are fantastic, a very different preparation from any others I've tried. The hangar steak is perfect with the risotto, and the shrimp and grits was well received by my friend. Great food, good prices, and a parking lot in the city! What more could you ask for?!
Another great dinner at Langermann's! The short rib special that my husband got was melt in your mouth delicious. I always think I will try something new but can't seem to stay away from the shrimp and grits. They were awesome as usual! Maybe next time I will try something new.
Good food, good wine and good service made for an enjoyable dining experience once again!
I have been to Langermanns >5 times and I have never been disappointed in the food. And that means the restaurant is consistent. Everything I have tried is delicious. The waiters are lacking social skills, but don't let that ruin your experience or the taste of the food!
We discovered Langermann's in January and have returned 4 times since our original visit, each time introducing new friends to our favorite brunch spot. The food is really good and consistently so. We have only done brunch, and we have tried all of the entrees.
Everyone raved about all of them. The "extra" buffet in addition to the entrée is wonderful - we especially love the salad.
Very nice venue, although a little noisy- acoustics are limited. Very accommodating to our earlier arrival for our reservation. We ordered appetizers, drinks, salads and small plates. The waiter seemed confused as to when we wanted the small plates- but did accommodate them as entrees.
