Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa Ratings and Reviews
Lovely grounds. I would recommend a drink in the sun rooms or on the sun porch. Pricey but great food. Limited lunch menu so I would recommend checking it before booking. You may have to call to find out whats on menu as it was not on line when I booked. I found dining room very very formal and cold as opposed to cozy so I liked the sun room and bar areas better. I would suggest the brochure with the trail info to be put on all tables to increase the experience. I would provide more history to guests maybe in the menus or in the wine list as one of the main reason for attending this venue is the the grounds and historical nature of this lovely setting.
A beautiful setting but alas, the food was subpar. The meat dish was tough and the vegetables were overcooked. I was dreaming of the eclair but it was chewy with a bland cream filling. Our server was most pleasant. The problem is in the kitchen. Lovely cocktails.
I have frequented Langdon Hall for the past several years and have always found it excellent. I have hosted many parties and taken many friends for an excellent dining experience.
My recent visit however left me feeling underwhelmed. Service in the dining room was not friendly at all. Always used to be.
The food was cold and portions were very, very small.
I had informed the staff that I was celebrating my brothers 50th birthday. I was expecting a bit more than happy birthday scribbled on a plate for an important milestone such as this.
On a bright note the sommelier was very personable and made the evening from being a complete disaster.
I hope that my next trip will be different as I don't want to see such a previously great establishment fall into mediocrity.
It was our first visit to Langdon Hall and we enjoyed it. The service and atmosphere were great. We're both vegetarian and although vegetarian food is obviously not Langdon Hall's target market, they did have a veggie appetizer and main. The food was good but it didn't really meet our expectations, given the price-point. Overall a nice experience, but likely not something we'd do again.
We enjoyed our lunch very much. The service was exceptional. Unfortunately, one person in our party was very ill a few hours later and through the night after consuming beef tartar followed by salmon and clams. We don't know if it had anything to do with the food but it does make us wonder.
Three ladies enjoyed a birthday lunch in the garden. The food and service were superb. The ability to relax and have a great time together was priceless. We are so lucky to have A world class establishment in our area. Thank you Langdon Hall for your high standards.
Was a great dinner. It cost 255$ including tip for two. They accommodated my gluten allergies and served us complementary prosecco, amuse bouche, and anniversary desert. Great service, offered me a blanket as we were dining outside. It felt like we were at a resort out of town, nice mini get away.
The food at Langdon Hall is incredible and very creative. Most if it comes right from the expansive garden right on the grounds so it's as fresh as it gets and it make a huge difference in the taste. The whole meal is an experience and Chef Jason has created dishes that create so many unique flavours.
Delightful country house with exceptional restaurant. Food & service were helpful without being cloying.
A beautiful summer evening - started with cocktails on the terrace
Sommelier assisted finding perfect wine & kitchen accommodated special requests. Food simple, fresh & well presented
Only annoyance is construction makes finding entrance a bit difficult. It's expensive but worthwhile
The meal was excellent as always however I was a little disappointed by the service. My husband and I came for dinner the night after we got married for the first night of our honeymoon AND it also happened to be his birthday. I had called ahead and asked that they bring candles at the end of the meal to celebrate and nothing was brought.
We stopped by to enjoy all aspects that Langdon Hall had to offer, we experienced appetizers, main course and desserts - the appetizers did not disappoint, we were able to try all 5 offerings which all had a great presentation. The items that impressed me the most were the "value" add items to the meal - the amuse bouche served on a Tuna bone, and chicken pate served in a chicken foot cup - the little attention to the details where the Chef could be creative were noticed! It was raining when we visited however be sure to walk the grounds or have tea on the patio - this place truly makes you want to slow down and take it all in!
Langdon Hall is a very special place. Our welcome was warm and inviting. The food outstanding.
Our friend from Scotland was delighted with her lunch and afternoon at Langdon Hall.
Whenever possible we take time to go there.
The grounds are well kept and natural, trails around the property for walking are delightful. Close buy there is a conservation area.
Will be back soon I hope.
Dear Langdon Hall,
We had a magnificent time celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary at one of our favorite places. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent.
Thank you for making our special celebration a memorable one!

After I expressed on arrival how unhappy I was to have received a phone call at 1130 moving our reservation from 1:30 to 1:00, causing stress and inconvenience for all involved, I was shocked that nothing was done to make a gesture. The change was because although my reservation was made a WEEK in advance online requesting high tea, it wasn't until 2 hours before that we were told high tea can't be booked online. This situation cast a pall on our 'special occasion' birthday. Any restaurant would offer complimentary drinks, dessert etc., if they are in error. Apparently not so at Langdon Hall. I will not return.
The serving staff were not to be faulted so I felt it would be unfair to reflect my displeasure in the tip. Left feeling aggrieved again when the bill did not reflect our inconvenience .
