Langan's Ratings and Reviews
I was previewing Sponge Bob Square Pants before taking the grandkids in December and decided to stop for dinner at Langan's before the show. The fish and chips were very good as always. When the family comes to town we enjoy going to Langan's for jazz brunch. I also enjoy stopping off after a show for some drinks and appetizers with friends.
Pleasantly surprised Times Square area restaurant with good food and service; nice big bar, great Irish Coffee, welcoming bartenders. We came pre theater matinee and the place was jumping, luckily we made a reservation. Always concerned about pre theater as sometimes can be rushed with limited menus. Langans did a great job with the service. Enjoyed the Shepards Pie and there were many Irish offerings on the menu, as well as sandwiches, appetizers, salads and other entrees. Would defiantly recommend and return.
Cozy spot near the theater district but not as crazy as some other restaurants further west in Times Square area. Comfortable and warm service in a pub atmosphere. Typical pub food plus other traditional dining options. Nice friendly bar scene but a quieter white table cloth area in the back makes for a quieter dining experience. We were there pre-theater and had the squash soup and the baked mac and cheese, perfect for a chilly rainy evening. Definitely will be back.
We had so much fun sharing our favorite restaurant with our family/guests from Florida. They absolutely loved Langan's - the atmosphere, the food (especially the Mac 'n Cheese), the staff, drinks, and the delicious Irish Coffee!! A perfect place for a wonderful time with family and friends - thanks!!!!
Not good anymore. This used to be a favorite of mine. We started going back when they gave you monogrammed matchbooks. That is not what i miss, i miss food that doesn't taste like spaghetti O's. The lobster ravioli was horrible. The tomato with mozzarella and basil was difficult to eat as the tomatoes were hard as rocks. The waitress inattentive. We were brought to an empty dining room. Shoved in at a table that was next to banquette table with the only other diners in the room. My husband was overlooking the man's shoulder.. .. will never return to this pub unless i want just a beer. Disappointed. My husband ordered bread pudding that tasted like bread warmed up with caramel sauce. I didn't order anything as dinner was a huge letdown. Go to O'lunneys. The wait staff was better. And even though we ordered just appetizers the mini crab cakes were better then the ones at Langans. We had been going there for over 30 yrs. Never again!
Just found this place recently, but it's now our go-to choice for pre-theatre. Food is simple and well-prepared, prices are reasonable, and service is attentive. I mentioned it to a friend, who told me it's been a favorite of her and her sister for years. I'm sorry it was a secret for so long!
Have been coming to Langans for years- the food is always good, the service always good. Wish they would clean it up though. Appears downright grungey and the seats need to be replaced- sat at booth like table in main dining room and seat had little cushioning at all- will continue to come here and recommend to friends but they really need to update and clean up the interior.
I had a reservation and 3 of the guests were late by over 45 minutes and the staff could not have been nicer.....we were lucky to eat at all before the show.....they knew we had a 3pm show and hurried the food for us. GREAT place!!!! Love the JAZZ BRUNCH!!!!
