Pour is an upscale bar with a variety of table choices (booths, tables, hi-tops, bar). All are spaced nicely and you can choose the type when making a reservation-and yes, we like the opportunity to make reservations. The menu has so many choices it is always hard to make a decision. The staff are well versed in describing each item. In a previous visit I loved the barrata fried green tomato’s. But in line with Pour focussing on farm to table it was not available tonight. A waiter we had on a previous visit recommended the barrata tomato appetizer. It had peas and delightful jalapeños(very small and subtle). I had the scallops. A generous portion however incredible quality and taste. I am an East Coast guy and these are special; including the sides. We started with a good old fashion (and yes, I am picky) followed by a nice bottle of Sancerre. I would be remiss if I did not mention the staff. Everyone of them are professionally friendly, show team and are attentive to all customers.

Our group was a party of six. We felt the table was a bit small for 6, but happy we could be accommodated. The food is very good and well presented. Drinks are not skimpy and the wine list is extensive with a variety of price points. Reservations are a must and call well in advance.

Enjoyed a nice lunch with a friend. The food was very good as was the service. It's a happening place which is good however t was also very loud once the inside filled up so just be prepared for that if you prefer a quiet setting otherwise you should enjoy it!

Eating at the Pier is always better when the weather cooperates. Last night was a glorious evening with calm winds and moderate temperatures. We sat outside overlooking the harbor itself. Service was professional and cordial. We had the whitefish and the salmon and both dishes were outstanding in quality and presentation. The new owners are doing it right so far with this classic northern Michigan restaurant. We really appreciate their latest decision to reverse their long standing no reservations policy. Being able to book via Open Table means we will be much more frequent diners at The Pier.

We ate outside, it was a very windy day (but sunny) on the lake, the servers did a great job keeping up with things like napkins and glasses blowing over. Our server Alex was beyond top notch! Food was stellar as it always is…., they tell you right from the get go, that food comes out when it’s ready so if you order 3 or 4 things, what ever is ready first, is what comes out first and so on. Drinks are always great.
